That quiz was really good tonight. Hopefully see more things like that.

Again fair play to the club and announcer, quiz was very enjoyable. Club have been doing the right things during the lockdown, want to get us fans onside as it's tough going at the moment.

  2. I'm not really disagreeing with you, a lot of supporting the old firm is glory hunting and winning most weeks help keep their support, just saying there's another reason why they get support, there's a reason a city like Edinburgh of similar size can't produce a team to compete with them,  there's a reason most celtic fans in falkirk went to st mungos and why there's few or no rangers fans there, they tend to be spread around the town's other schools. I know there are exceptions but in general this holds up.

See these folk that troop onto the bus from Falkirk district to go and watch the old firm and have no connection with Glasgow they are not football fans. They are trophy hunters plain and simple. Exposure of that Indisputable fact with them ends in wind and bluster as they cant defend the un defendable. Long may their humiliation continue.

They're not trophy hunters plain and simple, listen to the singing in the highlights of the Jimmy Gilmour game, loud and clear "soon there'll be no protestants at all, we're on..." got rangers highlights this weekend, sure there'll be a few Pope mentions in their songs. If folk from outside glasgow supported them because they win all the time and are successful I wouldn't like it but it's far better than why they do get the support they do.

  4. Hypothetically, if the league is settled and raith were to go up then the defensive playing for a draw at their park would come back to bite us big time. Was a terrible decision at the time even without hindsight.

And could someone put the dawson guy out of his misery about why someone compaired us to celtic as it's obviously annoying him!

Shire - Stenhousemuir - Falkirk amalgamate. Controversial but with clubs facing the brink some may think the unthinkable. The Angus clubs for example may go that way to avoid them all folding.

Totally agree we should amalgamate, however we should follow the lead of bigger clubs, let Celtic and Rangers amalgamate first, we'd have a giant of a team playing in Scotland's biggest city in front of 100,000 to 120,000 every other week, they could compete with the best in Europe and it would solve at lot of the socially divisive issues in Scotland, once they've done it then clubs like Falkirk and the shire could follow....

  6. Am I being over optimistic when thinking that Sammon not only being dropped but also not being used as a sub might give him the kick up the backside he needs to really take his chance when he does get on? 9 caps for the republic of ireland and goals in the english championship, surely he can improve for us.

  7. It is to easy to be patronising, this league isn't a bad as some make out, the guys saying "we should be humping a poor airdrie, east fife etc" are the same guys that'd say we should be humping a poor arbroath or alloa, the worst dundee team for years etc or livy or st johnstone, ross county in the top league. Partick and qots could be here next season dundee couldn't beat alloa, arbroath have had good results. To many folk think football manager is real and there's huge differences in the leagues when in reality the gap between a hearts or Hamilton to raith or east fife isn't anywhere near as big as folk think. Game need to be fought and won, you don't get a goal start because your home crowd is over 3000!

No one could envisage a Falkirk team with a relatively massive budget beating Raith Rovers?

Got to agree here, we should've already beaten rovers twice in the league this season (a bad sending off at home and ray's unfit mob away), obvious the managers were happy with a draw. Seeing how many problems we caused them with 2 up front then I'd say this game was a chance missed.

You are familiar on our boards track record this can be added to the list.

Pretty sure the car park (mono blocking) was paid for by a grant or something like that from the tourist board or govt and the electric points have been funded by the Scottish govt as Falkirk Council have the lowest electric charging points anywhere in Scotland even the Highlands and Islands have more charging points (this being a dig at the incompetence of Falkirk Council)blind leading the blind with FFC board and Falkirk Council

It's easy to have a go at the board but guys like Martin Ritchie are not stupid, and as a board they have made so huge mistakes but why would anyone let the council with a small share in brockville just take a majority share in the new stadium? If there was grants etc for the car park and it wasn't council money then that makes even less sense to hand over control to them.

  10. I think I've asked on here before without getting a clear answer, but we owned brockville, we went with the council for the astroturf behind brockville and this meant the council owned 2/7th of everything, I'm assuming Morrison's paid for brockville so how did we get from that position to where we are now? Not even the world's biggest idiot would sign anything that just completely gave away so much for no gain.

  11. Forget our decent performance v hearts, forget looking better than raith last game despite having 10 men for most of the game, forget almost pumping raith away but for 2 cracking free kicks by them and us still having ray in charge, raith played well against partick, league over. So many people so negative on here all the time 😞

  12. In all my years of supporting falkirk, I've never seen away fans in our end, is an absolute disgrace, sack the board. Mind the good old days in the 80s and 90s when we'd get 15000 plus crowds v the old firm with not an away fan anywhere but their own end....lol..  Actually back in the day they opened the gates at half time and you swapped from the hope street to the Watson street end. Giving hearts that wee bit for their fans in our end was pretty sensible. Why slag the club for nothing? Fair enough if they deserve it.

  13. Last time we played we should've beaten raith with 10 men, and the game at their park, I don't think they could come back against us now the way we're playing. We seem to have strengthened with the January signings and fitness issues look to have faded as we aren't blowing out our ***** after 70 minutes now. Positive signs since Ray was bumped, I'd say we are now genuine favourites for the league not just favourites because we're the big team in the league. Be nice to get a cup run on top of everything else.

Arbroath effectively relegated Falkirk with a 3-1 win at Brockville in 2001-02. Hardly 40 years ago.

My main memory of the game is saying after 5 minutes "There's no way this will finish11 v 11"

Falkirk took the lead, we equalised practically immediately, both sides had a man sent off then we scored twice within a minute near the end.

Falkirk only avoided relegation because original Airdrionians went bust, so the most recent league meetings were during the following season (2002/03)

Last time we were outside the top 2 leagues was 40 years ago, I didn't say we hadn't played since just we regularly avoid arbroath when we do go down, for two teams that have been in the leagues as long we have rarely played each other.

  15. Arbroath must be the team we have played least in Scottish football (not including newer entrants to the leagues and the new rangers) this is our first Scottish cup tie against them, on our last visit to the lower levels of Scottish football 40 odd years ago saw arbroath making a rare visit to the higher levels, same as this year. This should be a cracking game, hopefully we can edge it.

  16. Wee shout out for the dumbarton fan who won the spot the team in the south stand bar, won a falkirk tracksuit top but said to pick again and let a Falkirk fan win, well done by the guy :thumsup2

The actual game, 1st half not great, 2nd half very comfortable. Agree with a few on here, dixon looking much better.

  17. Airdrie were mainly dangerous from corners, our 2 centre halfs spent every corner grappling a forward and not looking at the ball, they had no idea when the corners were being taken, the airdrie forwards would make a run as the kick was taken totally leaving our pair for dead. If instead of pretending they're WWE wrestlers and took the radical step of watching the ball then going to attack the ball airdrie would hardly have had a chance in the match!
