  1. For the first time ever my 400 shares weren't just a paper exercise and can change things. When the plan to sell shares to fans and the Rawlings comes about then anyone who really is a supporter should look at investing whatever they can afford. You never know when a small shareholding could make the difference again. Hopefully we can as a club move forward now COYB.

I can see why they are stopping new subscriptions as they will be trying to prevent people using vpn's to access games.  You would think though that if you contacted them and could prove you lived abroad they would let individual cases subscribe.

If it's £150 for overseas access and a south stand season is £170 I can't see falkirk losing that much to the odd fan who'd use a VPN, I have a friend in brazil who couldn't subscribe to ffc tv, which isn't fair on genuine overseas fans. (I did tell him to contact the club by email and they'd sort him out)

  3. This season has obviously changed how Falkirk tv works, was ok for overseas fans to watch games live but as everyone has to use Falkirk tv at the moment then they'll have to pay the same as season ticket holders, anyone know for sure if this is the case? And does anyone know if Falkirk tv are covering Montrose game for overseas fans or would Montrose tv be the only way?

  4. Notice folk are already moaning on Facebook page about paying for the clyde game even though we haven't got into a cup game for free on season tickets for years. Things are tight for the club at the moment so if fans can they should help the club by paying for Falkirk tv, I know some people are struggling as well so share a stream, split the price with a mate or two.

To quote a line from a Dick Gaughin song 'There no gods and precious few hero's - But there are plenty on the dole in the Land of the Leal.

Give it a listen and very apt for the time we are living in.

Good song, not my usual type of listen but always good to hear something different from your normal.

  6. Can't help thinking covid is the ultimate proof there is no god. We can watch games on Falkirk tv this season in the house while getting very very drunk. Surely if there was a god, no deity could be so cruel, so heartless to send a pandemic to stop us getting into the football and not do it during Hartley's season in charge.

  7. Surely if we charge £10 for Falkirk tv, even killie would have 150 away fans buy to see the game and therefore cover the testing cost. With no away fans I'm sure we'd have more than 150 buying to see us v killie if it was away. Most teams only have a percentage of fans go away, if you can buy games and watch in the house without travelling then clubs could potentially make far more cash (outside top league with sky)

  8. Was going to do my annual pre season post, that we played Leeds in the 80s and drew then we drew with bo'ness! Memory is funny though, thought I'd check it on better meddle and it appears we drew with Leeds (crunchie's first game) and the exact same team days later then actually got pumped 3-0 at home to stenny. Shows what friendlies mean.

  9. Last couple of seasons I have bought a shire season ticket using the offer they give to Falkirk fans, anyone know if this will be running this season and when season tickets will go on sale?

Also persuaded my neighbour to buy a oap shire season ticket using the deal, not sure if this makes me a good or bad neighbour, lol.

  10. I don't like this year's strip (home or away) anything like as much as some of the superb tops we've had in the last few years but I was thinking of getting one anyway as I know it helps the club out. I was completely surprised that 55% of season ticket sales have added the extra donation, looks like fans are rallying round, so it could be possible strip sales are up because it's seen as a way to help the club in these difficult circumstances.

  11. No one really knows how things will play out, hopefully we can pick up a few bargains as clubs let players go due to finance. Would be good to get to the end of the season with us and partick both going up (obviously best case scenario is us as champions and them through the play offs) with raith and another team coming down.

That depends who you ask. Players generally like playing against the best available. Playing regular games against weaker opposition wouldn't suit them. Not that I think players deserve more of a say, you'd just get a huge amount of Neil McCann type pish.

Football here has been on the wrong path for so long it's impossible to reverse. The choice between losing little money or not losing it is always made with only ever the short term considered. Any Chairman you ask won't risk the smallest loss of telly money on the off chance that crowds might increase.

Is pure short termism (if that's a real word) look at the games being played now behind closed doors, if you keep pandering to tv not the fans then that's what we'll end up with. I short term loss to improve the game in the long term should be a good thing!

Being heavily dependent on physical attendances doesn't mean you ignore other revenue ie TV. I don't know the exact percentages of each but if any club lost its share of the telly money it would mean significant cuts would need to be made.

If we did what supporters wanted, how would we assess that? Any poll would be dominated by Celtic and Rangers. Look at the number of idiots that post on here, how would you exclude them from influencing the outcome?

Changing the set up so teams play 2 or at worst 3 times a season would reduce not eliminate tv money, we'd still get a tv deal so clubs would lose a small amount. And while old firm fans quite like playing each other 4 or more times per season they, like everyone else aren't keen on playing 4 games v st johnstone, ross county, hamilton etc....

  14. This thread shows what's wrong with scottish football, you have a league that relies on fans income more than any other in Europe, fans have complained for years about playing the same teams 4 or more times per season but the league set up never gets changed as it suits tv and the old firm and yet you have random fans from other teams more likely to have a go at Falkirk than have a go at the top league and their self interest and greed.

A separate point, surely the league must set up rules determining what happens to the leagues if this or for another reason the season can't finish. Say upto 15 games, null and void, after that points per game etc. It would be unbelievably amateurish if this happened again and there was nothing in place to deal with it.

Same here. We got in late as my dad thought it was a 1530 k.o. so I was first through the turnstiles and only heard the cheers as McGuire scored. This is the first time I've seen it to this day! Remember Irvine's goal clearly but the Fifers goals were forgotten amid a blur of nerves.

Looking at that I can't help but notice about 25 shanked and miscued clearances from our kitten skittish lads. Although one air shot led to the first goal!

I read this and I'm wondering why your dad would think the game was 15:30 kick off? Every Saturday game back then was 15:00, every week season after season, seems strange to me, was your dad not working or running late? If not why did he think half past start? (Apologies for me being a nosey ****)

Can only guess we will get the answer when Celtic roll up for a Pre Season Friendly at Dens and leave 2 or 3 prominent loan deals to help them out. Not sure that would have been enough to get them to change their vote though, so would not be surprised if they were funding them some other way. The whole thing stinks!!

A pre season friendly is hardly a money spinner, loans could certainly make a difference but dundee could lose out on at least a million (probably more) in a season with no guarantee of going up after that, I just don't understand their voting at all.

  17. Away from the yogi stuff, been done to death on here before and an afterthought from the league vote, most clubs voted in self interest however can anyone see what dundee got out of the result? All I can see is they've gave up a chance of going up via playoffs, allowed their main rivals to go up and got a far bigger club to compete with next season. I can't see any upside for them at all.
