  1. He really was a sensational Poster!
  2. My mate stayed with a woman called Kate in Bishopbriggs (up the hill from the station - if that's any help) when he was at Celtic from 93-96.
  3. Who was the Poster that claimed to have a "steak in the oven" and a "bottle of red wine in the fridge"? PS - I know you can reverse seal a steak btw.
  4. He won't find you, and he will be sick on the Kirriemuir to Dundee bus....
  5. Surely the sediment would still be prevalent? I've never had chilled red wine before tbh!
  6. Fair point regarding the the red wine being chilled. It would have to be a very light red wine though, beaujolais perhaps. Even then!
  7. I personally wouldn't but things like chilli or pepper can distort your taste buds. I don't use a lot of salt or sugars so am quite sensitive to those tastes.
  8. Let me summise, it was basically the A-Z to do list for any cancer patient.
  9. No, I have grasped the factual content of your post but I also stated that I don't drink fizzy drinks often, hence I don't have distorted taste buds and this gives me confidence that I can taste the difference between coke and diet coke. Weening yourself off sugars, salts, spices will see your natural taste buds return after a period. Most people don't do this I'd imagine.
  10. I'm not a big drinker of fizzy drinks (maybe that's the key) but I can definitely tell the difference between coke and diet coke.
  11. Has to be PerthshireBell. When did he become a Cab driver in Auld Reekie?
  12. Don't know what your getting at. She makes some great points.
  13. Col Fletcher Prouty has an interesting take on the JFK assassination:
  14. No, it was a case of me not articulating my point correctly in the first place. My point stands - see the now amended OP.
  15. There a different modes of failure. In this case you'd expect overturn at the location of steel buckling. Not the structure totally collapsing through its path of most resistance.
  16. No it isn't. Cause of failure - yes. The mode of failure defies all engineering logic.
  17. You do understand the difference between cause of failure and type of failure? So, yes there has been structural steel buildings that have fallen due to fire but not by the same mode of failure. I.e total collapse through the point of most resistance.
  18. Not at all. Overturn at the point of buckle would be the expected failure. Not total collapse through the path of most resistance.
  19. Yes. Heat causes steel to buckle. The mode of failure would be overturn at the point of failure not total collapse.
  20. Fire can be a cause of a type of failure.
  21. Fire isn't a mode of failure. Try again.
  22. It was used by the US Government as rallying call to war. "Remember the Maine"
  23. What was the modes of failure? That's the key. There's a huge difference....
