    Fair point regarding the the red wine being chilled. It would have to be a very light red wine though, beaujolais perhaps. Even then!

    I personally wouldn't but things like chilli or pepper can distort your taste buds. I don't use a lot of salt or sugars so am quite sensitive to those tastes.

    No, I have grasped the factual content of your post but I also stated that I don't drink fizzy drinks often, hence I don't have distorted taste buds and this gives me confidence that I can taste the difference between coke and diet coke. Weening yourself off sugars, salts, spices will see your natural taste buds return after a period. Most people don't do this I'd imagine.

    I'm not a big drinker of fizzy drinks (maybe that's the key) but I can definitely tell the difference between coke and diet coke.

    There a different modes of failure. In this case you'd expect overturn at the location of steel buckling. Not the structure totally collapsing through its path of most resistance.

    You do understand the difference between cause of failure and type of failure? So, yes there has been structural steel buildings that have fallen due to fire but not by the same mode of failure. I.e total collapse through the point of most resistance.

    Yes. Heat causes steel to buckle. The mode of failure would be overturn at the point of failure not total collapse.
