  1. I withdraw the question as my boy just texted me to say you were being sarcastic. [emoji4]
  2. I was in a couple of pubs in Dumfries yesterday. The first one was the Caven Arms which seemed to be more of a restaurant than a pub. Everything seemed to be meticulously organised. You have to book, can't just wander in without permission, sanitizer available as soon as you're in the door and all staff wearing visors. They lead you to your table straight away so no hanging around and were also very attentive so no need to leave the table unless you were going to the spotlessly clean lavvies. There was a pro independence event in the town and the manager/guy in charge was absolutely raging when a 2 or 3 saltire covered cars drove by tooting their horns that went outside to mumble and glare at them which was good for a laugh. They have a great list of cask ales at £3.10 a pint and Stella at £2.95 for the lager drinkers. Next pub was the hole in the wa'. Deary me! They had separate entrance and exit doors which no one paid a blind bit of notice too and absolutely no social distancing inside. There was a screened service area at the bar which couldn't be accessed because of people sitting/standing at the bar so the staff just served you wherever. A wee jakey guy sitting at the bar was in the toilet the same time as me didn't even wash his hands let alone use the sanitizer then returned to his stool to put his grubby mits all over the bar. Another undid his belt, button and fly on the journey from his seat to the toilet door. If he had walked a little slower I'm sure would have had his knob out. On the plus side there was a bit of Queen of the South memorabilia on the walls to remind you you were in Dumfries.
  3. When last season ended abruptly the club offered a refund for the unplayed games. I'm sure they would do likewise in the event that spectators were not permitted.
  4. Stuart Bannigan. He's not a tramp he's the captain of a U-boat.
  5. I don't think I've ever heard an Airdrie fan suggest it's the same club that went bust. I presume emotionally they look upon it as the same club they've always followed but never seem to go full Sevco.
  6. That's pretty smart. Especially with the black shorts and socks.
  7. Morton's last season in the top flight some 33 years ago.
  8. True. I'm not sure whether I like it or not but one thing is for sure it will be a dog's breakfast with a sponsor's slogan across the front.
  9. Yes it looks very like Kilbowie. A fine ground in the sunshine as I remember but a nightmare in the pissing rain.
  10. In my opinion Zanatta was our most disappointing signing last season. Having seen him play for Alloa against us a couple of times I thought he was the sort of player with the ability take defences apart, create chances for others and bang a number of goals in while he was at it. I still think he's a talented football player but his timidity and lack of courage made him a passenger all too often.
  11. Thanks, that's really helpful. I've cleared out their hiding places put down slug pellets (they've been lying in the hut for the best part of a decade so we'll see if they still have any potency) and I have plenty of bird feeders in the garden. I didn't think birds ate snails btw. There's one more thing I'm hoping someone might be able to educate me on. There's a tree in the corner of my garden that I really love as it's a favourite for sparrows, starlings etc and as it was there when we moved in I've no idea what kind of tree it is. Can anyone enlighten me?
  12. I took the photos just before spending a few hours clearing away the ivy, weeds and general mess behind the bushes and there I found Scotland's entire population of snails. Absolutely hoaching with them. As I've never seen a caterpillar on the bushes do you think the snails are the culprits?
  13. Help me out here guys. My gardening skills consist of tidying and cutting back so I'm pretty clueless as to what particular blight is currently devouring the plants in my garden or what to do to get rid of it. I'll give you a couple of pictures and any advice would be appreciated.
  14. That's really smart. A traditional Morton top with no fannying about, plain white shorts and the hooped socks set it off perfectly. I hope to see plenty of kids in Greenock wearing them soon.
  15. I don't accept any of that. We were no worse than QOS and hardly worse, by a distance, than Alloa. And no club "deserves" to be relegated because they were bottom of the league within 2 points of the team above and with a game in hand at a random point in the season.
  16. It's been seven years now and you're still a bitter tear-stained mess.
  17. I don't think we should underestimate how important the loan signing of Stevie Anderson was last season. He probably did for our defence what Scott MacDonald did for our attack.
  18. Nice to see Thistle promoting great Scottish cuisine back in the 80s.
