  1. Those two that usually do the commentary on ITV (Tyldesley and Townsed?) are the worst for it.
  2. That was point tbh. The sending off influenced the scoreline, not the result.
  3. Bit of revisionism from the usually reliable Guardian Football Weekly when they were discussing England's match against Malta on Saturday. Apparently we were 'fortunate' to win over there and the red card changed the game.
  4. Haven't used NetBet in months, but got an email about a 150% bonus for deposits up to £50 Anyone know when Bet365 will be doing their next offer? Feels like months. The last I can remember is Arsenal-Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
  5. My mate posted this Daily Mail *shudder* article to our WhatsApp group which is pretty similar: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3821730/Olivier-Burke-explains-decision-turn-Premier-League-RB-Leipzig-Bundesliga.html I thought it was really refreshing to hear him say this:
  6. Juve took awhile to get their first goal yesterday, but in truth it was a very comfortable victory away to Empoli, who again looked like an absolute rabble. Juan Cudrado is an infuriating player to watch btw. Has ridiculous pace which gets him into excellent positions, but his end product is woeful.
  7. Losing Messi to injury is clearly a blow, but not starting Iniesta or Rakitic was criminal from Enrique.
  8. 2-1 Zurich. What do I know? Took the safe option with Bilbao at home to Rapid Wien. 1-0 win, but should have been a few more.
  9. Don't know a great deal about either side, but Osmanlispor at around 6/4 looks overpriced. They're 5th in the Turkish Superleague and unbeaten so far whereas FC Zurich were relegated to the second tier last season.
  10. Villareal looked good in a dominant frist half display which had them 3-0 just before the interval. They conceded a bit of clumsy penalty which gave Osasuna a goal back just on the stroke of HT, but that's where the scoring ended.
  11. I watched Lazio yesterday; they won 2-0 at home to Empoli without really getting out of second gear. Should be there or thereabouts for the European spots come the end of the season. What's happened to Empoli though? They were a solid midtable side last year, but are currently in the relegation places with 4 points from 6 and have failed to scored in 5 of those.
  12. That's one of the most engrossing matches I've watched in ages. The quality wasn't the greatest, especially in the first half, but it was end to end and both teams were flying into challenges. Thought the referee got the right balance between letting the game flow and keeping things under control. Betis can count themselves unlucky not to have taken a point. Harsh 'offside' call and they dominated for a spell after. Think Sevilla's quality just saw them through though. They won 14/19 home games last season and are 3/3 so far this campaign. For Betis, it's another game where they've failed to score against their rivals; their last goal came in March 2014! Also, imagine the mayhem if a derby match in Scotland kicked off at 10PM
  13. Another good win for Las Palmas on Saturday moves them onto 9 points. Take away that injury time goal at Sevilla and they'd be unbeaten. Is it too early to call them a surprise package?
  14. Another good finish from Milik. Saving the blushes from Insigne who had just ballooned it over when it was easier to score.
  15. I think I might have to eat my words about Milik. Didn't think he had a particularly great conversion rate at Ajax and was sceptical about him making the step up in a better domestic league, as well as Champions League. Some start to his Napoli career though. Scored twice against AC, two huge goals midweek and may have dug them out a hole tonight.
  16. Napoli were 1-0 up early on and looking fairly comfortable, but a long range effort puts Bologna level. Reina maybe should have done better there. Can't be long before we see Milik and/or Mertens. Bologna have got a real lift from that.
  17. Do FC Koln have a song to the same tune as Loch Lomond?
  18. Decent move from the club to get a good crowd in tomorrow evening. Does think this would be worthwhile doing more often? http://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/dundee-united-tickets-on-sale-in-the-howgate/
  19. Krasnodar are a decent outfit, especially at home. I also thought Rostov could cause a few problems in the CL, but they've been drawn in a fucker of a group.
  20. Juve weren't at their best against a stuffy Sevilla side, but still had the chances to win. Khedira missed two decent opportunities early on and Higuain cracked the bar with a header. Frustrating night for them on Wednesday.
  21. I'd hold off for tonight's teamsheet. Mourinho have made noises about starting Rashford, but that may be on the wing with Ibra up top. Time will tell.
  22. That qualifying loss looks very big given the relatively narrow spread in odds (4.0 and 4.1). Are you sure you got your calculations right? I use the calculator on here: http://matchedbettingblog.com/matched-betting-calculator/
  23. I stand corrected. I was using Footstats and it was taking the last 9 games of the season: http://footstats.co.uk/index.cfm?task=formguide
  24. If we can take 9 points from our next 4 games, we'll be in the same position as we were at the same stage last season (16 points from the first 9 games). Those fixtures are: Dundee Utd (H), Ayr (H), St Mirren (A), Dunfermline (H)
