  1. Best thing about the game was watching it without a fucking knot in my stomach. It was shite, and it didn't really matter. My ageing body is ready for mid-table mediocrity. Bring it on.
  2. We are basically those guys at the end of Gladiators when they're trying to run up the travelator but their legs have gone.
  3. Lee and Kyle did nothing to suggest they should be starting games..........or even coming on as subs. Kyle literally did pretty much our only good thing in the game, tbf.
  4. Yeah, you edged it, but it was rancid all round really. We finally showed a bit of real intent in the final 10 or so, but can't complain about the result at all.
  5. This game, man. My eyes. It's absolutely brutal. I'm not proud. It's absolutely awful.
  6. I personally think it's different for defenders: they are more exposed. Midfielders, especially out wide, and forwards should be capable of getting some minutes here and there. That said, Ethan has done incredibly well not to be totally ruined by his spell at left back under Kearney. I'd love to hear his honest thoughts on whether that helped or hindered him.
  7. Can't see them going for him - he's incredibly paranoid and has nurtured his victim persona to an absolute tee. Wait...
  8. Shame really that they both seem to have more impact on games from the bench. You're right, though, I can't see who else could possibly rotate at this point. Jim seems wedded to a 5-3-2/5-3-1-1 at the minute, so it'll probs be: Tait - Fraser - McCarthy - Shaughnessy - Durmus Flynn - Erhahon - McPherson McAllister - Obika Durmus must be absolutely fucked at the minute, mind. Imagine having to convert to a wing back and then playing two games a week for a month+.
  9. It's just become a ridiculous monkey that we need to get off our back. It's hardly going to happen every season, but if we can shift from our natural position being between 8th and 16th to it being (occasional) 5th to 11th (more in line with where you guys have tended to be), that'll be a huge long-term step in the right direction.
  10. Out for at least two months with 'Disappearing from the Face of the Planet'.
  11. Brophy and Dennis up front, McGrath in AM and Jake Doyle-Hayes in midfield are all stick-on first choices, and in JDH and JM are probably our best players this season. Happy to accept you've got more injuries; it's a bit of a weird thing to be bragging about, tbh.
  12. I agree with @Ralstonite - we are probably safe to start playing a couple of the young guys now, certainly if we manage to scrape into the top six.
  13. Anybody else give the OP a greenie just for the Blur reference?
  14. Yeah, fair enough. I think I was looking at a 'last 10' table which was why I had you a bit further down, but still, three wins from six is absolutely fine. I mentioned a few games ago that we were clearly drawing our way to arithmetical safety, and agree with @houston_bud - another D here probably wouldn't be the worst result for either team. What happened to Polworth; wasn't he looking decent for you? In my head, I'd happily have him at Saints, but that's without having seen him much this season. Not sure what's up with his contract but could see us going in for him in the summer, especially if we don't get JDH, (unless Polworth's become a complete car crash).
  15. Nah, I'd agree with you. I've genuinely only been bothered* about reaching the top six since it looked like it was reasonably likely. Disappointed if we don't make it, but we've still had a good season. Whereas obviously we know what it feels like to be where you are. I'm quite pleased not to have that knot in my stomach at the moment. I'm really surprised, mind: after our last game I really thought Alexander was going to have you in decent shape. You looked up for it, hard working, and moved the ball about pretty well. Obviously only a mental penalty that gave us the draw. FWIW, I still think you'll stay up. As worrying as your form is, County and Accies' form is only marginally better, and I don't think there's enough for both of them, and Killie, to overhaul you. *Where the definition of bothered is actually feeling annoyed if it doesn't happen: I've obviously always wanted it to happen, it's just never previously been worth devoting much mental energy to it.
  16. This season is brilliant. Forever gutted there's no fans in. Deserves to be seen.
  17. Spot on. Doesn't matter if you've been flatlining all season, as long as you fully intend to win the last eight you'll be fine. The intention is the main thing.
  18. Yeah, the double whammy of tonnes of games and half a squad to play them is clearly taking its toll. Actually, it's a triple whammy when you consider it's three of our best players that are out in Dennis, McGrath and JDH. As @Bobby_F says we're doing ok considering, but any more injuries would ruin us. Connolly went down holding his back at one point today and I could barely watch.
  19. This league is incredible in that you can have posted those results and not be dead and buried yet. Just like us two years ago; utter dogshit but somehow survived. Just like Hearts last yea... Ah no, never mind.
  20. Fair enough, didn't realise it was McManus. Still annoying, but understandable, I guess.
