  1. We have been far from convincing for very many games, with a few incredible performances dotted in that have put a gloss on it. There have been times when I've heard/read people talking about us being a good team and I've wondered if it's been a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. I remain unsure about our tactics and I think we still have major weak spots in the squad. Had we made the top six, it would have been a decent achievement, but, let's be honest, it has had as much to do with some of the traditional top-six challengers having an absolute nightmare this season. We've got plenty to build on here, though, and our recruitment has been broadly pretty good, so my main hope is that we can have a decent season next year when fans are back in the ground.
  2. Yeah, love the guy to bits but a single decision hasn't cost us fucking anything.
  3. Cheers mate. All the best with the rest of the season and pulling away from *checks notes* eighth place in the Championship.
  4. By the same token, it was a very soft penalty that precipitated our late collapse against Celtic - the concession of three goals that have turned out to be the difference between 6th and 7th. I'm not blaming that decision - this was in our hands and we fucked it - but I'm not having it that we've had the entire rub of the green.
  5. It really wasn't. If Stubbs had properly put the guy back in his box then fair enough. But his response was entry-level at best.
  6. True, and I nearly added that the tone of the response from the Saints fan was a bit much for my tastes. But still, I think he's been rattled there.
  7. Ahh, that was shite. Looked pretty comfortable throughout bar a spell earlier in the second half. Was it a free kick? Yeah, probably. The Saintees on here are clearly awful, graceless, tiny-penised winners, but congrats to them anyway because their form has been very good at the right time of the season. We've simply had too many draws, especially recently, and although the Feb fixture madness has clearly destroyed us, the backlog was still a net result of our Covid-related failings. I don't really believe in karma, but given we escaped any other meaningful punishment, you could still argue we brought the problems on ourselves. We absolutely have to focus on finishing 7th now. Any lower and I really will be pissed off.
  8. See you guys in the morning when the forum comes back online.
  9. Just glanced at your game stats. One sided much? Don't like the way we seem to be sitting increasingly deep here.
  10. Your semi-frequent reminder that Ross County let Marcus Fraser leave. Edit: @sergie's no1 fan great minds, bud.
  11. Yassss. Love the defender arguing it's not a penalty because he's missed the shot. A late lunge is a late lunge. Mental tackle to make.
  12. He brought the ball down a second ago and the ball ended up exactly where he wanted it, by which time his legs were fucking miles away and the defender gently took it off him. He's absolute gash.
  13. Nothing sticking up top for us at all, but there's plenty of scrappy second balls we could be winning.
  14. Well we are playing Ben Stirling so one more player at least. See that and raise you Lee Erwin.
  15. Chucked my £15 in to the Accies cause. Too important to be fucking on with buffering streams today. Come on you Saints. I also think it'll be a 3-5-2 with Durmus and Tait at wingback.
  16. Reasonable to say Erhahon has exceeded pretty much every expectation we possibly had, and he's been largely very good. Prone to some errors, but he's 19. He's going to be a big player for someone one day. There was a sense for a while that we couldn't quite work out why Cammy wasn't getting more game time - I personally took it that Jim didn't trust him. Perhaps, like most the rest of our squad, he was suffering a bit from Covid after-effects at some point. Obviously the arrival of JDH, a clear upgrade, has limited his game time a little. I though his contract was up in the summer but Transfermarkt says it's 2022. I hope it's the latter as I think next season could be big for him - he really needs to kick on. If I was to make a guess, I'd say Cammy McPherson is going to be the future of SMFC. Ethan is probably going to be with us another year and will then be the future of a bigger club. As @DumbartonBud says, the fact they are both getting regular time in the best-performing midfield we've had in a very long time says everything you need to know.
