  1. Nice one, sorry. Next time you exaggerate, I'll check with you first before exaggerating in response.
  2. It just seemed like a weird thing for a Dons fan to be getting so excited over. What a weekend, and ooft, indeed. Pal.
  3. Morton got their best men on the case in this thread. Handing out quite the roasting. Anyway, someone made the point that, Ayunga and McMenamin aside, we have got about 6 back up strikers (Nahmani tbc) and it's hard to disagree with that. Olusanya isn't a football player and he needs shifting on. I think he's only been given time in these friendlies as a last chance to prove himself. I think he will be mutually consented; Offord will be loaned. Greive will be kept but he's 5th choice and is going to find minutes harder to come by. We are left praying that Ayunga comes back the player he was, that McMenamin lives up to the price tag, and Nahmani proves to be a player.
  4. If that happens then you'd have to assume we've got Goodwin back in charge.
  5. Absolutely no question we're all filing this one under 'benefit of the doubt' for now. Interesting that Robbo specifically mentioned having seen him play south of the border, as if to anticipate those who'll point out he was mediocre for Motherwell. We'll just have to see if he's an Ayunga or an Olusanya.
  6. But he clearly has an idea of where he's going to fit in. He's said so, very explicitly. Now, whether or not the guy turns out to be good enough is another matter, but it's clearly not scattergun.
  7. Prediction: Carson starts tomorrow and everyone pretends nothing happened.
  8. Aye, if you had any intention of playing a 4-3-3 you'd mention 'wide forward' at that point. Unless Robbo is just holding that one back to surprise Hibs on day 1.
  9. Putting the 'away kit' into 'keeping me away kit night'.
  10. I've always (grudgingly) liked him. You have to worry for Greive's game time next season based on the sheer number of forwards we seem to be going for. I guess we're only chasing Anderson if McMenamin falls through, but with Nahmani in the door and an offer out for Fletcher as well, we're in danger of being a bit top heavy (albeit still not knowing where goals are deffo coming from).
  11. Fair play, mate. Some Falkirk fans have taken one look at the line-up of utter diddies that make up League One this year and decided to pipe the f**k down. Rubbing shoulders with this lot could be really demoralising so I'm glad it's not getting to you.
  12. Yeah, fair. Thing with Jay is he's the sort of player you'd pick on FIFA - fast, decent shot on him, great crosser. As well as being a youth product, that means a lot of us really wanted it to work out for him. If he'd burst onto the scene under Jack Ross in the Championship, then maybe things would have been different. But we are the wrong club for him at this moment in time. I genuinely hope he does well, though.
  13. But he was well out of position. That said, I don't think he even fits Robinson's model of what a wide forward in a 4-3-3 would be. many of us had assumed that formation switch would be Jay's best chance, but I think Robinson sees players such as Ayunga or Greive filling that role, if we ever did play that formation.
  14. I like the Saints shirt but it's not a worldy, for me. Some nice touches but doesn't match the 12-13 strip, which remains my favourite home of all time.
  15. Although I wasn't a fan of the fee that we had supposedly agreed with Bolton, it did at least bring some certainty to our transfer window. ie we've got cash and gaps in the squad to fill. I hope this Baccus situation doesn't rumble on like McGrath did two summers ago, when we ended up replacing him with Kiltie but then McGrath didn't leave. Ideally need to get the majority of our major business done in the next week/10 days, IMO.
  16. I think whether we go for one or two more depends on the identity of the first one in the door. If we pull off a mad transfer coup and bring in an incredible, proven striker, then we might stick there and hope we get by till Ayunga is back. As an aside, if we fail to get Fletcher, I wonder if we'd go back in for Watt. Chat about him seems to have died right down. Maybe United are hoping to keep him because he'd absolutely rip the piss in the Championship.
  17. This is the key point, for me. While we can't possibly make a profit on every player we sign, we've got to maximise our chances of doing so. We've struck lucky with the Brophy transfer; signing other players in their late 20s for fees is not our model and is not sustainable.
