  1. Agree with this. Shouldn't be afraid to rotate a little bit when form is poor. We're not calling for any massive system change, just some tweaks to freshen up.
  2. That's amazing, and it will be a nice wee injection of cash for the club - I've heard it mentioned that we might need it. The flip side is that he could maybe have done with a rest, but overall it's amazing news. I wonder if Strain's recent injury niggles killed off his chances.
  3. His right foot is still magic. Dropped a few brilliant crosses in. Put on a few LBs, mind.
  4. Gallagher and Tanser out. No Tait. Presumably Fraser will be farmed out to LWB but I don't like the idea of that. Can't see us winning this with so many key players out.
  5. Elvis makes an excellent point: if you take away all the games we have won this season, then our record is actually utter shit.
  6. I want Baccus at the world cup - I really do - but there would be plus sides to him not going. Fitness/fatigue, no risk of injury, keeps him out the shop window. (There are counterpoints to the above, mainly around potential club income at a point when, I've heard, we might need it. I'm just saying it's not all bad if he doesn't go.)
  7. It'll be interesting to see how we respond to a few away games. In theory our style should suit away games perfectly. Obviously getting horsed in Perth and Aberdeen undermines this somewhat. For once I'm relaxed and excited to see how our season pans out, with none of the usual stomach-clenching anxiety.
  8. TBH, answered your own question there. Boy's a decent number 10 and not much more so it's nuts to play him elsewhere. He doesn't get near our first XI at the moment, especially now we don't get given penalties any more.
  9. That Liam Fox interview after the game was dour stuff. I'd be worried if my team was relying on him for inspiration. United are in trouble.
  10. Weaponised ignorance is a bold play from a follower of the league's whipping boys, tbh.
  11. I hope you lot are as bad as our last game against you.
  12. Yeah, you're probably right. Might have to confess to having forgotten about Gogic.
  13. Robbo says we have a full squad to choose from, so team pretty much picks itself. Some debate over Tanser or Tait at LWB but Tanser will get the nod IMO. -----------Carson-------------- ---Fraser - Gallagher - Dunne Strain - Baccus - Erhahon - Tanser ------------O'Hara-------------- --------Ayunga - Main ------
  14. Plausible deniability. Edit: though to be fair, Andrew Dallas is barely plausible as both a referee and a human being, so maybe you're correct.
  15. Just shows how fragile my St Mirren-related confidence is. One international break and a defeat to Rangers and suddenly I'm jittery about a home game against Killie. Anybody know how our squad's looking? Will Ayunga be back for this? Him and Main are definitely the first-choice partnership right now. Hope Strain's fully fit as well.
  16. Obviously we were very, very fortunate to beat Livingston (who were 10x the team we were that day, apparently), Celtic, Hibs, United and County. I think another jammy home win here and the first game in history where both teams' possession stats don't even add up to 50%. 1-0 Saints, Declan Gallagher, 53rd minute.
  17. Which is fine, but fans of clubs such as ours who think VAR is going to be anything other than yet another method by which we get hafted are, IMO, kidding themselves.
  18. It's a travesty and should be nowhere near our game, tbh. Leagues with far more money are making a hash of it and I desperately hope we make a stand and bin it at the end of the season when it inevitably hasn't worked.
  19. Meh. Struggling to muster the will to watch the second half. Ayunga and Strain are both so important to the way we play and we would have neede stop be at full strength here. Rangers haven't really broken a sweat so far. I can see why the penalty was given, tbh. Totally needless lunge and definite contact.
  20. He's just had an eight game ban for slagging Porteous. I think they must have taken that elbow into account.
  21. Club has confirmed Lyness is away. Mutually consented, but continuing to train with us until he finds a club. Strange, because surely we've had to pay off his contract anyway, why do we not just keep him as a squad player until January? He's clearly a solid pro so it's not like we're removing a rotten apple.
  22. Pretty sure that can't be true. Many Celtic fans were affronted at the 'anti football' we resorted to the other week, so I doubt they'd ever do it themselves. I do generally love a bit of shithousery, especially when you're watching a game as a neutral. Jim Goodwin was always the master of the subtle art of getting barely-perceptible digs in at players. Very difficult to spot and a joy to watch.
