  1. I think the big issue is the mood around the club. The Ross/Kearney survival years, we'd been shite all season but the fans and the players rallied. There was a real movement. This, on the other hand, is fucking dismal and there's no energy anywhere. Any bookies offering a market on places in the league?
  2. I've got an absolutely awful feeling about this now. I think there's a very decent chance we're losing to St Johnstone next weekend - they can, at least, score goals now. If they move to within two points of us, then we're fucked and relying on Dundee to have chucked it by the time we play them. We just look absolutely terrible, proper whiffs of Butcher at Hibs or Yogi at Raith about us. Based on what I saw of Arbroath on Friday, I wouldn't fancy going two games against them, tbh.
  3. It does seem fitting that Ethan would take to social media to show us he cares, as opposed to doing so on, say, the pitch
  4. I'm sick of Robinson trotting out the fact that these aren't his players as an excuse. He seems oblivious to the idea that admitting you can't get a tune out of a group of players that you didn't sign isn't a brilliant look. It's made worse when you consider he has previously worked with three of the squad. Plus, he's undermining his own argument by failing to get performances out of a guy he has previously signed. He's right that we recruited for 3-5-2, and that's left us very unbalanced, and that's on Goodwin. But I could still perm the available players into any modern formation without once typing out the words 'Curtis Main'.
  5. As much as he absolutely bombed with us, he came into a club that was in absolute tatters from top to bottom. The job was too big for him at that stage of his career. Obviously it doesn't help him that Alex Rae came in and actually improved things, and then the less experienced Jack Ross turned the club around. But unlike Stubbs, Craig and Rae, I bear no ill-will to Murray. I do think he would need to do a decent job for at least a couple seasons in the Championship before he'd get anywhere near a top flight job, and even then I'd doubt it'd be a club the size of Hibs. Of course, his need to manage at Championship level means he really ought to steer clear of Falkirk, too.
  6. Because he's only an average MP and there's nothing about his track record to suggest he could take to football management?
  7. Love the idea of Warnock using the Hibs job as a stepping stone for his dream gig at Cappielow.
  8. BTTS is an absolute banker. Wouldn't like to predict which way it's going aside from that, though.
  9. In my eyes Goodwin was still a relative rookie, but I know that's not the point you're making. I just think, as Dons have done, they've recruited a novice and it's backfired, so they've gone the other way. I can't see them trying to pull a name out of leftfield for a second successive time.
  10. Thing is, for everyone joking about managers such as Mackay/McGhee/Hughes, the fact is, I think they're probably quite likely to be considering a boring/experienced hand. Surely they wont go with another hipster choice again, will they? Surely... And that might be the answer.
  11. FFS, I was strongly of the impression that Bain was outstanding (based mainly on our players' prognosed recovery times vs the actual. This happened a lot.) Re Dunne, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, which is much like the approach he sometimes takes while deciding whether or not to clear a football.
  12. A weekend without Saints has had the inevitable effect on me of making me feel somewhat optimistic again. I don't know why but I think we'll take something from the Hibs game.
  13. Those playoffs were one of the least enjoyable football experiences of my life. I would hate to be involved with those again. As people have pointed out, if we did end up in them, it'll be off the back of a truly atrocious run of form and it'd be very hard to fancy our chances. @elvis I'd like to politely point out the difference between @FTOF pulling together a balanced, well-reasoned post, and someone just making 'we're doomed' their default position and claiming they were correct when it all goes wrong.
  14. Off the field, your club does most things right, IMO. Absolute beacon in terms of comms and other fan initiatives. I can only hope he brings some of that with him.
  15. I think we might be working from different definitions of the word 'joke'.
  16. There's a 300/St Johnstone away support joke to be made there but I've had a long day so I'll let you lot put the pieces together yourselves.
  17. Morton fans getting awfully cocky considering the fact they're literally five days away from marking 100 years since they won anything.
  18. Agreed, @Hendo. The fact is, a few weeks ago we were talking about the fact we were safe and planning for next season. Now we can't buy a win, the team looks utterly spineless/demotivated and we could very easily end up in 11th. In fact, I now believe we will. If we end up in the playoff, regardless of the outcome, that is a disastrous collapse and, for me, he'd have to go.
  19. Doesn't relate to the CEO rumour, but I always liked him as a player. Every team should have one.
  20. If you do finish 11th (as opposed to higher: Dundee are finished) I think you'd skoosh the playoffs. If that happens, is anyone making a case for Davidson staying?
