  1. When the bottom two sides are as bad as this, makes you think it should just be a straight two-up, two-down, tbh.
  2. As a fanbase, we can only dream of dealing with adversity with the same grace that Hearts fans do.
  3. Stonewall red, but the Hearts right back should be off the park as well. Easy two yellows, but given the benefit of the doubt for the first one. Second challenge on Jones could have been a red in its own right. We've done ok, but Hearts should be putting this to bed.
  4. Stunning pic. Got a funny feeling about today. Think we'll edge it.
  5. We're Dundee fc we do what we fucking want. It's been a while since we saw a Dundee side playing with a little flare, tbqhwy.
  6. Disgraceful behaviour, IMO. Points deduction incoming. It's lucky nobody was killed, or worse.
  7. Pleased to see this place has mellowed slightly. Sometimes you need a wee storm to clear the air.
  8. I do wonder if Ross regrets any of his choices yet. I mean, probably not right now, while he's sitting in a mansion in the North East's most exclusive area, but he is miles away from his stated aim of becoming Scotland manager. Goodwin will be in the Ireland job before Ross is anywhere near the Scotland role. Obviously I'm biased, but I firmly believe he'd be better off today if he'd stayed with us for a further season. I agree with @AW saint - I really don't give a f**k - but I hope there's a salutary lesson to others there.
  9. I think Carlisle are below where Ross sees himself (note the careful wording of that), but the reality is he'll have to move house now if he's getting a job anywhere in the near future. Geographically, you'd have to say Middlesbrough are the only remaining option to him while Martindale remains in a job at Livi, and he's absolutely no fucking chance of a club at the top end of the English Championship. Darras Hall (basically where he stays, give or take) is very near NCL airport, but he'll not be attracting the sort of job offers that'd warrant becoming a frequent flyer.
  10. This. He's fucking magic. I miss him already for when he goes back to Cyprus.
  11. Just working on a two administrations/9 lives joke. I'll log back in later once I've made some progress.
  12. Pretty sure any manager can pick the same line up and say "just give it to Jordan".
  13. Suspect he's doomed to spend no more than a year at any club. Managers will always be seduced by his pace but put off by his end product.
  14. Now he's in the door, I can only echo the above. This just feels like a solid, well-thought out appointment. Probably about the best we could hope for in the circumstances. As I outlined in a post yesterday, the options appeared bleak when you categorised the potential candidates so I feel the club has played an absolute blinder in finding a willing and available candidate who ticks pretty much all the boxes. Look, we're St Mirren. We'll lose games, we'll go on bad runs, we're far from favourites to win the QF at Tynecastle, and it's not beyond us to conspire to fail to make the top 6 again. See last season. Sometimes not being a complete basket case/laughing stock/relegation stick-on is all we can aim for. But sometimes the stars align and we manage to assemble an above-average squad with some attacking flair and if we get a bit of luck with injuries and suspensions then perhaps we can do something special. Best of all we've got a guy in with experience of the league and plenty time to start prepping for next year, too.
  15. I don't think anyone needs to be particularly great this year to finish 4th and qualify for Europe. While I hope it's Motherwell, St. Mirren must be thinking they'll never get a better chance. We've got a great squad and are going into the final third of the season in a strong position. We absolutely may never get a better chance to finish fourth. Robinson doesn't even need to change much - just maybe some tweaks around the edges, and keep us on course.
  16. Very well connected journo. Has an outstanding track record of announcing signings before they are confirmed elsewhere. Only tends to deal in top-tier clubs/players, which is why it was only ever a matter of time before he started reporting on Saints news.
  17. This heightened state of perma-rattled that the Saintees and the Dees are currently existing in must be utterly exhausting.
  18. I'm fucking delighted with this, tbh. It's one of the least St Mirreny things I've ever experienced.
  19. Yeah, while I think only time will tell if he's better than Goodwin, he's 100% better than Goodwin.
  20. Ha, the news about Naismith broke about 15 minutes after the news about Robinson
  21. Imagine you're a melter on BAWA still trying to prove we have fundamental money issues while we're also doing this. It's a tough gig.
  22. After spending the weekend refreshing Saints Twitter, it's clear Shelley has loads of brothers in our support, all called Wayne.
