The Big Relegation Thread
Coventry Saint replied to Lex's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
This was mentioned in BBC commentary last night but I didn't believe it, so had to check myself... in the 30 most recent games that Hibs, Aberdeen and Motherwell have played collectively, they've amassed one win between them. Astonishing form from some of our 'establishment' clubs there. Two of them will be grateful they stuck some points on the board in 2021. Aberdeen must be getting slightly twitchy... -

Davidson has that exact strategy on a whiteboard in his office right now. -

Can't believe it's been two whole years since we last won a scrappy 1-0 midweek game to leave a team stuck on 23 points at the 30-game stage. With EightGamestoGo (TM), Dundee still have hope: just do what Hearts were 100% definitely going to do in 2020 and win all eight remaining fixtures, finish on 47 points and laugh at the team dropping down. -

After two cancellations, to wait until the 93rd minute to win the game and kill off any faint survival hopes Dundee might have had, was absolutely top-tier trolling from Saints and I applaud that. Obviously Dundee going down isn't as hilarious as St Johnstone getting relegated - jokes are never as funny when you've heard them several times - but sadly we had to put out own needs first. And there's a top six trophy we've got our eyes on. Sorry Dees, good luck next season. If it helps, the Championship looks absolutely pish. -

Just bang another administration out. Piece of piss. -

We finally play a cross that isn't aimed at Sharp's midriff and look what happens. Not sure why they were letting Ronan have 20 yards of space in the box, but great ball from Henderson who was excellent when he came on. Deserved the win, we were well on top by the final stages. -

I knew hesgoal had dropped the English games; didn't know that applied to Scotland as well. I believe there was a major legal challenge being made at a server level and it was easier just to drop the games. Shame for tight-arsed fans of dodgy sex adverts and endless buffering. -

Does he prefer a back four? Asking for a friend. -

I think Dundee will edge this. The game against them at home was our worst performance this season, at least until yesterday. Here was our line-up that day. If we go out with another version of this, we'll lose. -
Ross County v St Mirren 5/3/22

Awful. Just fucking awful. Get the back three so far into the fucking sea. Tait is never a wing back (which is weird because he wasn't a wingback last season or the season before either). Kiltie needs to play number 10. He's been a revelation since we put him there. It's just dogshit. I'm so pissed off. -

Weird way to spell 'Dunne' but whatever mate. I'm honestly raging about this system thing. Has he even watched our games from this season? -

Just thinking back to our last game at Dingwall. I said so on the thread at the time but I felt County were decent that day, especially in the second half. We should have been out of sight but they rallied and could feasibly have taken something from the game. No surprise at all that since then, they have won or drawn 14 of their games, Vs 7 defeats. Despite our good record up there, I think Robinson's difficult start is about to become harder still. 2-1 County. -

4-2-3-1, Fraser and Tait at FB, Henderson, Kiltie and Jones behind Greive and then, later, Brophy. It's a simple game; I hope Robinson doesn't try to be cagey here. That said, I've been impressed with County. I wanted, and still want, Mackay to fail badly, but that's nothing against County. Just him. -
It's the brainlessness of the out balls that kills me. No wonder Power looked deid after half an hour - we just thump it back to them time after time.

There's always the danger with a new coach that he'll think he can make things work that the last guy couldn't. I'm not opposed to the back five in a game like this... Just intrigued by what's going on at the other end.

Yeah, I think it's the same 3-6-1 / 5-2-2-1 that Goodwin was playing for a while. Jones and Kiltie playing in and around (FFS) Curtis Main.

The first four words of his post were enough, tbh.
