  1. Personally I feel its an excellent deal all round but particularly for Tiffoney if he gets a regular starting berth.
  2. The German boy (Lokotsch?) showed some promise as well but headed home after the real impact of lockdown in a foreign country hit home.
  3. The best part of 20 years ago we had a "tie-up" with Manchester United. There were all sorts of promises but, as far as I can recall, the only player we got was Nicky Culkin - actually a good goalkeeper until injury ended his career prematurely.
  4. TBH - if given the choice I would think a permanent move to Partick would probably suit him best; particularly if it included a regular start. Top flight or not; warming the bench is not a career aspiration at his age.
  5. That's going back a bit - Rivals days. You'll be mentioning Jamie's Maw next - funnily enough that was the same person as well.
  6. Doubt it - he only ever hangs around here like a leftover haddock curry. Neither he of his pseudonyms seem to post on anything football related or in relation to other clubs.
  7. For the avoidance of doubt this is the same Sky Sport that cant be bothered to change the Celtic wallpaper when covering a non-old firm game? Should probably be Doig for his persistence of ripping us a new one but will more than likely go to one of the old firm.
  8. Unfortunately that reference will be totally lost on anyone under late fifties. "We stopped having kids when we found out what caused it"....
  9. Ross County have (had) the best pies in the league - end of story.
  10. Agreed - I let myself be carried away by the hype earlier and our fantastic winning and unbeaten runs; at one stage we dared to dream of challenging for third and maybe even second and maybe another cup to show for it. If view in isolation the last two months have been decidedly disappointing but, looking back, we started the season in the height of a pandemic and a big question mark on how many clubs would likely survive. For all the ups and downs of this season though; my greatest disappointment has to be my inability to watch my home team live in the stadium on even one occasion.
  11. For a club with the lowest/second lowest budget in the division to finish in the top half of the league two seasons running (plus a cup final appearance) is more than decent in my opinion. Next season is going to be a challenge with predicted changes in the summer but "predictable" is not the Livi way.
  12. I'm sure those were club options and Davie already said they'd be taking them up Think there was a hold-up with the paperwork - well according to Callum Carson anyway.
  13. Rumour is both Guthrie and Devlin will be the next to activate their extension options.
  14. A leopard cant change his spots even if he changes his name - but a dick will always be a dick.
  15. I've seen them all live with the exception of the Ibrox game; but cant whip up the enthusiasm to watch this and that's not actually a comment on Hibs; just end of season malaise.
  16. I actually didn't believe it should have been a penalty. As I said every coming together isn't necessarily a foul.
  17. I suspect Tiffoney will be on the look out for a club that can offer him a guaranteed first team place; actually Partick would probably be top of the list IMO; seems to have settled well and is enjoying his football again. Emmanuel Thomas really seems to be developing some form of consistency; his fitness has improved significantly and his close ball control and strength consistently seemed to cause most defences (outside the top two) problems. I hope he's around next season and continued to improve. I'm not sure anyone can truly criticise Holts efforts and enthusiasm for the game even if some of his tackles seem over to top unnecessary but recently he's repeatedly proved to be over confident; to linger too long on the ball and ultimately get robbed. Time and again he put the defence under pressure unnecessarily. Likewise his aggression in the penalty shootout was really unwarranted. Neither keeper actually managed to make a save but Stryjek looked the most likely - effectively all he needed to do was hit the target. I suspect he would really benefit from a spell on the bench to cool his heals a bit. Guthrie was an odd one on Saturday; repeatedly he seemed to bet caught in no-man's land uncharacteristically. I wonder if this is related to him feeling he needed to support Fitzwater more but, whatever the reason, it kept leaving a wider gap than necessary between where he and Longridge (should() have been. Longridge played better when Forrest and Sibbald were on the pitch but, once they were removed, he really seemed to struggle - Its funny because I've often said that Devlin performs better when Mullin is there ahead of him compared to when he needs to cover both attack and defence. With fifth place looking the most likely outcome perhaps its time to give Diani and Kabia a start. Also McMillan who didn't disgrace himself on Saturday but looked a bit lacking in Stamina.
  18. Actually it WAS a penalty - whether of not it SHOULD have been a penalty is the question here. When I saw it in real time I couldn't believe it was awarded. Contact happens all over the pitch but it doesn't necessarily mean that its a foul. If we start awarding penalties for such events then surely every corner should end in a penalty and players barge and tussle with each other in the area. Maybe from Colin Steven's view it seemed Emmanuel Thomas was scissored between two Aberdeen defenders; it certainly impeded his progress but isn't that the entire point of the game?
  19. For the Betfred Semi final I put "SALE" in the box for coupon and it came out at half price. Don't know if it still works but might be worth a try - think it was £6.99 as opposed to £12.99.
  20. You'll probably find they're not called guards anymore - more likely something nice and fluffily PC like "Attendants". (and its probably not a straight jacket anymore - more likely a Andy Warhol style jerkin with lace accompaniments).
  21. Not sure we'd stand much of a chance in getting Hendry; if Raith do win the playoff's they'll undoubtedly make an improved offer which I suspect we'd struggle to match no matter how much we saved on other's wages.
