Annan v Queens
the philosopher replied to the philosopher's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
Definitely goals in this game - both defences not always alert. Result depends who wants it most on the day. Put my neck on the line 3-2 Annan ! -

Aye possibly a few more injuries while our guys having a relaxing w/e. Bad result and maybe demoralising ? -
What a waste o money. Let the fighters fight - never call an ambulance for them either, they'll be either dead or get bored. Reduced security costs, cheaper prices - recreate a family atmosphere without the dinosaurs.

The Hamilton Accies League 1 thread
the philosopher replied to Beckford's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
Believe it or no guys I stayed the Hamilton Halls when I was at Glasgow Tech in 1980. My first car was a wee yellow escort which I couldnae get started 1 night - my saviour was a wee guy in the halls from Armenia ! I hadn't a Fucken clue where Armenia was but I'll never forget it- near Russia & Iran, always said I would go. -
Annan v Queens

The way I see it you Queens boys no too happy wi big Marv or your start to the season ( yip only 1 point ahead of little Annan). No chance of winning the league now before Falkirk or Hamilton. So playoffs ? Accept you have had loads of injuries - as did Annan at start of season. Think it will be a very close game next Sat. Hope Murphy plays Garrity ( Morton loanee) & Kai Nugent (Carlisle loanee) - boys with loads o pace and very direct. Lets have a good drink regardless. -
All right guys lets get the banter going.

OK Thiery Henry was a right b*****d too against Ireland. The modern game most o them cheat.

Just f**k the VAR - bring goal line technology that's all we need
-
A very professional and clinical performance from Accies , never gave Annan a minute, pressed them all the time- 1st half we were OK- doesn't help losing a goal in 2 minutes but then again a Friday night maybe no the best for a part time team with boys having worked during the day.No excuses tho the superior team won. Gonna be a very close 2 horse race with Falkirk to decide the champions.

A lot cheaper than the fitba too. Might be worth goin for some pre match entertainment. Is that in the fan zone at the club? Service at the bar took ages in the playoff final.

The best post I have seen for ages. It explains why most of the the time football is pretty boring. -

Can I be honest here - the way I viewed Saturdays game - u got a lot of big bruisers. We play a lot of good posession football - wins nout unless u get results tho Set up very defensively which Annan did find hard to break down but u just relied on counter attacks, Sammon - although he scored the goal he has seen better days. Heard Rice's interview after game - very fair. -
Annan Athletic. League 1. Season 23/24
the philosopher replied to Hauftimedraw's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
Alloa's always been a stuffy team well organised, big bruisers now but wi no flair since the days o loan signing Stevie May history ago. Great goalie tho today- comes from Tasmania ? Tochukwu Ogayi ! Well he's no your usual backpacker. -

Alloa - on the plus side the Bellhaven is pouring a lot better & the T lager is spot on. Stevie May -1 o the best we've ever played against ,quality. Big game for both of us- are your defenders slow ? Yes, then you are beat . Just ma opinion. -

Annan vs Stirling

No ,we had our chances against Peterhead but they were deserved winners against what Murphy thought was our best team albeit the boy from Rangers James Graham ( looks a prospect) was cup tied,Garrity still injured and the young lad from Carlisle just his first game although he showed flashes of trickery and good football skills. Should be a close game Saturday. We're not as bad as folk perceive. -

What about James Graham ( Rangers loan to Annan) he's defo one to watch. Never a penalty - deservedly great save by Greg Fleming.. Great end to end stuff from both sides. Draw about right. -

James Graham - what a player. He'll put bums on seats, believe me. -
Maybe a pretty basic observation but even after 4 games it looks like all the full time teams will finish top 4. Hamilton or Falkirk to win the league.ok Hamilton but very 50 /50. The rest can fight among themselves. Edinburgh City to finish bottom.

Aye we got gubbed.Fair do's. We run with a small squad and injuries left us thin on the ground. Great away day tho, cheap booze and good crack. What was the half time draw number ? I'll give it to charity if its mine

Of course a very tough game for us boys against the supposed league favourites. We are pretty thin on numbers certainly ,but we are definitley improving. Held our own against Raith in our last game, without 2 of our main strikers,3 if u include Aiden going off early doors. I know we were at home but Falkirk any better than Raith ? Game on.
