  1. This would be fantastic and has to happen. To become a published poet at 85 years old will be incredible and so well deserved. Really looking forward to this.
  2. Fantastic once again from Uncle Jim. A hugely talented poet and an absolute gentleman.
  3. I was led to believe that certain "sponsors" are not included as part of the 500 allowed entry. Maybe the club who did this used a little initiative to get more punters and extra cash into their club? Hope they weren't being racist this week?
  4. Thank you so much for doing this. Hugely appreciated by the man himself and his family.
  5. Yeah he's a lovely man and brilliant poet too. He just loves entertaining us at family events with his magnificent scots poetry. Even better he won the half time draw a few weeks ago.
  6. Apologies. Not my usual Killie bias but that is what i was told by his daughter. Hope this doesnt detract from the brilliant story. Ps i will edit my post to make it factually correct.
  7. Heard a lovely story today about my wifes uncle who is a lifelong Ayr supporter in his 80's . He had intended going to the QoS game though the supporters bus was cancelled due to COVID. One of the directors heard that he was disappointed and arranged to collect him and take him to the match as a guest of the club sitting in the directors box. Despite the result he had a fantastic day and that is what local clubs are all about. Not only that but he was just this week gifted a hamper by the club. I wont mention his name but I know a few on here are connected to the club so I would just like to echo the families thanks for treating the poet so well. And ,of course , this comes from a Killie fan.
  8. Was it not the case that at the time he was touting himself around for every so called bigger job in the country. To me as a neutral he was always looking for the next big move and each club was simply a stepping stone for his next move. He also appears to be very aloof which was summed up by his comments last night that he "was always very calm" when speaking post match. Having said that I do think he is a very good football manager.
  9. Yeah thats it. He sounds very aloof when saying such things hence he's not popular with fans.
  10. I thought Jack Ross had lost it last night when he said something like " because I express myself so eloquently" in his post match interview. I know he has been accused of beig aloof in the past but that takes the biscuit .
  11. Will be hilarious if the SMISA/Kibble power struggle proves to be true. I did suggest on here some time ago that the relationship with Kibble was dubious at best only to be ridiculed by Saints fans on here. I could still be wrong ,of course, though my friend who works at Kibble and is not a football fan tells me the involvement of Kibble directors with St Mirren is detracting from the main work carried out by Kibble.
  12. How anyone deserves to have their bus bricked is beyond me. Talk about brain dead morons......
  13. Obviously it was all self inflicted and the buses deserved to be stoned. Perhaps best avoiding Ayr altogether next time rather than encourge scumbags to brick the buses. Nae bother I now understand your rational thinking.
  14. Both buses were bricked though windows smashed only in 1 bus. It makes absolutely no difference what route the buses take. Are you trying to justify that as a reason for bricking the buses? Anyone who throws bricks at opposition football teams bus is scum.
  15. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/kilmarnock-team-buses-attacked-ayr-25311459 Absolute scum!
  16. Can't argue with much of that. In particular I agree witht the first line which is very worrying for Killie and I have concerns about the manager and his lack of plan. I wouldn't be surprised if we were the best of a bad bunch and ended up winning the league. However this team would have very liuttle chance of surviving in the Premiership. Ins and outs in January will be interesting and could well determine the league title.
  17. I'm not sure Carlo "walked out" as you suggest. There was an issue over an alleged signing on fee and my understanding is that he was actually suspended by the club. However great to see him back and hopefully a wee win v Ladeside tomorrow night.
  18. I really cannot imagine a similar interest in watching Talbot v Stirling Uni or Broomhill at anytime far less an evening KO in winter. Having said that after a few years all clubs will find their level and perhaps clubs like Stirling,Broomhill or Caledonian Braves will find themselves further down the pyramid.
  19. Why did the ref just walk off the park?Thought ref should always be last person off the pitch?
  20. I remember some years ago my mate conceded 5 goals and after the game a "scout" tried to sign him for Glasgow Perthshire. He laughed though it appears the "scout" was deadly serious. Though that was in the days of proper junior fitbaw!
  21. Was there ever any update on Carlo Monti signing for Drumchapel?
  22. Do we know what was "allegedly" said ? Not wise for Mackay to be saying anything given his history. I like Thomas Courts from what I have seen in the media. I dont think I've seen much of his team play but they beat sevco which is good enough for me.
  23. Great wee video promoting the Buffs. Only so much can be shown in 10 minutes but the club do so much more in the community than people realise. The club are building the correct way. I think one of the reason the manager gets so low when the team loses is that he is totally embedded in the club and community and feels the team have let everyone down. Good to see @ibenji on the other side of the camera for a change promoting the club as always. Great win today and looking forward to a day out next week at Benburb. Steady The Buffs
