Should be a goal down. Hope it's an important miss. -

Can't believe that Bet365 have Rangers as favourites. I'll be genuinely surprised if we win today. Still, you never know, a few rousing songs about political events in the 17th century might swing it. -

Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24
Salt n Vinegar replied to The_Kincardine's topic in Scots in Europe
No complaints about the result. Well beaten. The parachute into the EL is a bit of consolation, but the way we collapsed was disappointing. Need to get back on the rails for the weekend. -
In the absence of an American-style right to bear arms, surely the only way to beat a dangerous dog is to have a bigger dangerous dog, or perhaps 2 of them?

Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

As long as it's only one nil, there's always hope. I still think there's opportunities for comedy from the PSV defence. Can't say I'm surprised at the way it's going. Need to keep the heid and be more accurate with the passing up front. -
Given that big luggie apparently couldn't keep his own marriage oath to his first wife, he's got a d@mn cheek expecting anyone else to swear an oath to him.

Until these discussions about sausages in/on/under/with/beneath/between/on top of half of a bread related product,I wasn't in favour of capital punishment. Now? Not so sure.

Fair enough! It is however proof positive that the European Competitions as presently arranged are simply a means of transferring cash into the coffers of the already wealthy clubs to the detriment of everyone else. Not really a surprise (Scottish football has been a food chain for decades) but it is starkly demonstrated in your post. It also makes my usual "support Scottish clubs in Europe" financially untenable! "mon BK Hacken" wouldn't normally be something I'd say, but, well, millions of Euros are millions of Euros... -

Sounds about right. Best hope is a 0-0 with a win on penalties. Either that or Tav scores our statutory penalty in the final five minutes and we hang on for the 10 minutes of stoppage time to win 1-0. Bet365 not showing much of a wad going on Rangers to win in 90 minutes... PSV are 1/2, Rangers 5/1. TBH, for coefficient points, cash incentives and "stature" considerations I'm still unsure if CL or EL is best. Aye, the CL carries the status but given our recent experience there I'm not particularly impressed by that. A better chance of some wins (and the cash rewards that go with them) and increased morale seems more attractive. Of course, if we thump PSV I'll take it! -

You might think that. You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment! -
Can't say there's much wrong with that, given that according to the Church of Scotland website "All Scottish schools (Catholic and non-denominational) are required to provide Religious Observance events, now also known as Time for Reflection. Chaplains and Schools fulfilling the Religious Observance requirement should complete an RO record for each event that can be kept for Inspection." What a fkkn stupid country.

Last night Mrs Salt and Vinegar and my good self were getting ready to go out. She said that she would take her old bag out. She looked at me and said "Don't you DARE!" I hadn't said a word, but I was the one who got the row. -

Young lad is sitting next to his mum, who is sewing. She slips and p***ks her finger with the needle. The wee lad says, "don't worry mum, I know what you should do. Have we any cider? Mum says "no, why?" He replies "because I heard auntie Jean say that every time she gets a p***k in her hand, she has to put it in cider." -

Hi folks. Our energy deal comes up for renewal in under 2 months so I've started to look at what deals might be available. I've used the uSwitch website in previous years, so made that my first point of contact. As usual I filled out the form with our estimated usage and expected to see the usual alternative suppliers. I was surprised to be told "We don’t have any plans available at the moment. We’ll let you know as soon as we do." Anyone else used uSwitch recently? Did you get more helpful results?

Oh FFS... https://edition.cnn.com/2019/09/05/health/anti-vax-pets-gbr-scli-intl/index.html Some of the anti-vax lot are now refusing to have their pets vaccinated. "Daniella Dos Santos, the British Veterinary Association’s junior vice president, said the findings came as no surprise: “Vets are deeply concerned about the creep of anti-vax sentiments into animal care. Our member survey found that 98% of vets have been questioned by clients about the need for vaccination.”"

I remember hearing years ago that some of the PFI deals were like paying a mortgage for twenty-five years, totalling vastly more than the "price", but not owning the property at the end of it.

Well, thinking hasn't helped much over the years. However, as we all know from years of having it impressed on our minds from the age of 3 that prayers are vital, clearly you are right and we MUST be getting the prayers wrong. I blame the priests, imams, rabbis, shamen, witch doctors, spiritualists etc and nauseam.

Maybe there is hope after all. Waiting to go into a fringe comedy show tonight and I mentioned to our friends that I was watching reruns of " The West Wing" on Amazon prime. This American bloke behind us interrupted me to say that nothing much had changed since the series was made. He informed us that "Republicans are still insane". Not statistical evidence, but interesting nonetheless.
