  1. Cruz is good, but there's so many good receivers around (and probably a good load of rookies who could do a job as well) that they shouldn't be paying him more than $4 or $5 million absolute tops. Ryan Mallett must be sitting somewhere in the Boston area slowly shaking his head with all this Tebow nonsense. I know Belichick has got previous in turning some seemingly hopeless guys around, but Tebow is so far from being even a reasonable QB, I can't see it working. I'd definitely be looking for a trade if I was Mallett. Kellen Winslow signed a one year deal with the Jets earlier today. Leaves them with a good few tight ends, but none of them a stick on starter. How are Jets fans on that signing? Winslow was an incredible prospect once upon a time, but hasn't done much recently. No money mentioned in any article I've seen so far.
  2. Anyone who's not got tickets yet, don't panic, Ticketmaster have been really good with me in the past about having duplicates at the box office as long as you can provide ID. And it was completely my fault that I had those tickets sent to my old address as well. Just make sure you keep in contact with them and it'll all be fine!
  3. Interim Champion pulling out due to injury. Deary me. Evans vs Hendo would have been a great main event two or three years ago, but both lost a bit of their lustre recently. Should still be a cracking fight though. While JDS is clearly favourite over Hunt, but big Mark is always dangerous. And what a career revival he's on,it would be some story if he got the title shot, which he surely has to get if he wins. It's hardly cans he's been beating, and even looking at his losses, all against well ranked opponents!
  4. That's my main issue with it, the potential for more injuries. It still seems to be a topic under serious consideration, so we'll see what happens. Money talks and I do think it will come in sooner rather than later. Clearly no-one fancied a banged up 35 year old Urlacher in free agency, A Bears legend, a great linebacker up until a year or two ago. That's almost all of the guys who were playing when I started watching gone now.
  5. I read that earlier on. I don't think putting the draft back a few weeks will make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but will bring it all closer to the season I suppose. How do people stand on an increase to an 18 game season? It all seems to have gone a bit quiet on that front recently, but I'd definitely like to see an extra two games, cutting the pre-season to two at the same time. Extra competitive games are something I'd love to have, but can see the pitfalls as well.
  6. Love FNL, one of the few shows me and the wife both enjoy! Coach and Riggins are two of my favourite characters of all time on TV, the growth in Riggins has been one of the best things about the show. Just about to start watching Season 5, gutted I only have 13 episodes to go.
  7. How many more arrests will we see before training camps! Actually seems fairly quiet this year compared to some off-seasons.
  8. I'm really not sure another shot at NFL Europe would work right now. Having a couple more International Series games while focusing on developing the domestic leagues should be the priority (perhaps the NFL could offer a bit of help to the top European leagues?) Then review in another few years. Even the German market where the game is probably the most popular in Europe only attracts about 2000-2500 for even the very top games. There's a lot of work to do before NFL Europe makes a comeback, but maybe in the future. The NFL being so widely available on TV throughout Europe (and to a lesser extent top college games too) I feel would mean fans just wouldn't be flocking to what would be perceived (probably correctly) as second rate games. At least with the current amateur/semi-pro leagues, the few fans who do go are aware that they're not seeing NFL quality football.
  9. Were you there DomDom? I've not managed to get to ICW since the tail end of last year (it may have been Santa Gravy, but possibly the one before that, can't find any archive to look up!). Hoping to get back along soon, as despite the occasional booking flaws, the shows are always an absolute riot in person.
  10. That first one is absolutely outstanding. I have an unbashed hate of the Falcons, but would absolutely love to go to a stadium that looks like that!
  11. I've not used it personally, but my old man used it to get to a Dolphins game last season with no problems and I know another couple guys who have bought tickets that way as well. Seems to be mainly season ticket holders who can't make a particular game and sell them on.
  12. Was busy last night so saw none of rounds 4-7. Fairly happy with how the Saints drafted, filled some needs. Signed 13 undrafted frees today as well, I imagine most will go on practice squad if they even last that long.
  13. The official ticket exchange generally has hundreds of tickets for any game I've looked at. Fins will take a fair few to Tampa, but I'd reckon you'll be alright on there. Seems to keep them at face value (+ fees) on there as well.
  14. Just talking to myself now, so calling it a night! Don't see anyone left to pick doing anything daft. Night all.
  15. I don't think the Chargers particularly needed a WR, but since Allen was still there was worth picking up. Dolphins or Cowboys could feasibly plump for Barkley or Nassib. These next few picks could be interesting.
  16. Steve Gleason is an absolute inspiration and a Saints legend. Lovely to see him out there. I'm not convinced about the pick, I thought a linebacker was more important, but Armstead looked great at the combine. Doubt he'll get much gametime this season. Not sure what I think about that one.
  17. The blonde one was a woman. So, not Barkley for Dallas, and I think he'll slip into Round 4 now, unless Dallas use their second 3rd round pick or Miami take a punt. Williams has very good hands, but no speed over the first few yards. Saints up next. I'm hoping linebacker.
  18. Oh. Freeman has some competition in Tampa. Glennon can throw. But he's extremely erratic. Interesting stuff. A division rival in a potential QB tangle? Pleasing.
  19. Hold on. Is that a logical pick for the Jets? Maybe not, Not seen much of Wilson to be fair to the lad, but linebacker would have been a better fit than another lineman? It's not a really stupid one though, so there is that.
  20. That pick really is up there with Dallas taking Frederick at #31 for the worst of the draft. The Browns are only spared from looking like a shambles because of the Jags and Jets
  21. Wreh-Wilson is another UConn player I know nothing about. Rams picking TJ McDonald is another stellar pick for them. Absolute animal. The Rams have had a fantastic draft so far. NFC West is looking ridiculously strong for 2013. Now who will the Jets take this time?
  22. One of the best punt returners I've ever seen play. If he has screwed the heid like he says he has, really is a potential star
  23. If Tyrann Mathieu can stay sensible he could be a superstar corner. He knows Patrick Peterson well, the Cards will be sensible enough to work them close together. Potentially excellent pick from Arizona.
  24. That's a properly strange pick from Cleveland. Not the best corner available by a long way. Good returner, but far too early. Dick Schafrath looks great for a 76 year old former OT!
