  1. Since 7-2 hasn't posted his turn, I'll put this one forward. No goals up or football lines down when this was taken, but it is used for football!
  2. That's a classic piece of Belichick mastery. I can't stand the guy, but he plays the system so well, it's not hard to see why he's been so successful. On another note, I won my Fantasy League for the first time in 5 years, almost singlehandedly due to Todd Gurley. What a man.
  3. I've had a tasting of that, it's spectacular, but it'll be a special day when I can justify £100 for a bottle! Their standard 10 year old Origin is my usual choice, but I got the old man the 16 year old Diurach's Own this year, because I've never seen it at the price before. I'm hoping he invites me round when he opens it.
  4. Was getting a bottle of Jura for the old man's Christmas and bought myself an Aberlour while I was at it, which I'll crack open once I've polished off the Glen Marnoch. Me and my uncle tanned the best part of a bottle of Glenmorangie on Christmas night, that's a lovely, smooth drink. Some cracking deals to be had at this time of year, I might actually go back to Asda and stock up, Auchentoshan, Jura, Aberlour, Glenfiddich are all on for 25 or under
  5. Mrs Hunter got me a MegaDrive, the one with 80 games built in, and since it's not one of the built in games, a Sensible Soccer cartridge. Cue a Boxing Day Sensible Soccer tournament that she somehow managed to win. Great fun. She also got me a signed copy of Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders, which was my favourite book of the last year. My brother has got me something that hasn't arrived yet, so still got that to look forward to. The usual socks and underwear, which given the nick of my socks were well appreciated. And the in laws in the States sent us a load of these crisps, which are absolutely sensational. Nice wee Christmas this year.
  6. They had none of the 29 year old in stock when I was in, I'm hoping when I go in next week to get the Christmas food that they'll have a wee stock left. The Glen Marnoch seems a whole lot better than the usual supermarket "own brand" single malts
  7. I was in Aldi and thought I'd pick up a bottle of their Glen Marnoch Speyside since I needed a new bottle and at £17, it wasn't much of an outlay if it was crap. First night I wasn't too fond of the dram, it was a bit harsh and didn't have much in the way of flavour. But gave it another go the next night and found myself enjoying it a lot more, reminds me of a slightly mellower Aberlour. Obviously quite young, but it's definitely worth a pop at £17, much better for me than a cheap blend, but if definitely recommend leaving it 24 hours after opening, and I used a wee tad of water which I don't usually do
  8. At this point in time, you have Glasgow University playing games in an Amateur league in an empty 10000 seat stadium 20 miles away from their "normal" ground in order to play 1 or 2 Scottish Cup games per season. Obviously their situation is a little different from most with money not really coming into it for them. This to me highlights a flaw in the licensing system. It has a lot of benefits, but definitely needs a bit of refinement to make sense to the majority
  9. I just finished Amy Liptrot's memoir "The Outrun" about her moving home to Orkney after going through treatment for alcoholism. It's fascinating reading
  10. Cumbernauld Colts v Edusport Academy in the Lowland League last night. Quite an enjoyable game with Edu winning 2-1
  11. They scored about 30 seconds into the second half. Sounded like they had some fans tonight. About 15/20 I assume visiting Frenchmen. And a group of 4 with Scottish accents who were really getting behind them
  12. Folk that ignore one way systems in supermarket car parks. In fact. Folk in supermarket car parks in general
  13. Off on annual leave this week and was picking the Mrs up from work to go Christmas shopping anyway so headed up to watch Glasgow Uni and Sheffield Hallam in the BUCS Trophy. Turned out I'd misread the fixture list and it was the women's teams, but it ended up being a really good game. Hallam won 4-0, which was harsh on Glasgow, much closer game than 4-0 would suggest. A couple of defensive howlers cost Glasgow big time. Also caught a bit of Glasgow v Durham in lacrosse. I had no idea what was happening to be honest.
  14. The girl in front of me at Knightswood Cross about half an hour ago who made me and everyone behind me miss an entire green light because she couldn't get her cigarette lit. C*** hadn't noticed the light had changed despite horns blazing all around
  15. Dumbarton United v Aye United in the SWFL Second Division West this afternoon. Good competitive game, Ayr ran out 5-3 winners with two absolute screamers in the second half.
  16. I just finished "Final Girls" by Riley Sagar. It's incredible.
  17. Would a revived Borders pro team be able to sustain a Pro14 (or whatever it'll be called next) team. In terms of support, interest etc. To me it seems a bit off that the traditional Scottish rugby heartland has no pro setup. Not being from there I don't know if loyalty to the individual towns teams killed any potential support they had the first time round, but surely it would be worth the SRU looking into.
  18. I follow the Saints because the first game I ever saw they had Deuce McAllister playing. And he was awesome. And because I loved the Saints, that in turn led me to following LSU in college ball.
  19. This is an absolutely sensational dig, even if it's pure coincidence
  20. Mrs The Hunter has family in Sicily and they're all diehard Palermo fans, so I try to keep an eye on their results.
  21. I remember asking my dad where the scoreboard was the first time I went to Boghead (must have been about 1990/91) I'd only ever seen football on the telly and thought every ground had one (including my subbuteo stadium). So I agree, love a scoreboard.
  22. Uft, this isn't worth it. Shattered and I'm up for work at half 6. Sky+ on, bed for me and I'll watch it after work before the Scotland game. Hope it's a good one lads
  23. Iced Earth are supporting Volbeat in October. Hoping it doesn't sell out as I'm absolutely skint!
  24. Too many excellent looking gigs going on sale when I am worse than skint! Will hopefully be able to scrape enough together for QOTSA tickets, and hope Jimmy isn't sold out when I have some £££
  25. I really wanted Darkness in full, but they'll not do it two nights in a row. Hoping for BTR now if we get a full album, still to see Backstreets live, and Jungleland dedicated to Clarence with his nephew playing the solo will be pretty special. Just over 18 hours to show time. I don't see myself sleeping much tonight!
