  1. If there's no money there's no money, and that cannot be helped. If that's the case, it would be nice if the club said as much. I think it's unlikely anyone will leave, so as I said I can't see anyone coming in.
  2. Raith Rovers are absolutely challengers. I get why they are trying to play it down, but the belief that squad must have is off the scale. We're having to win every week to stay ahead, which creates a huge amount of pressure (although you could look at it the other way, they are having to win every week to keep pace). We definitely do not have more squad depth than Rovers, a cursory look at the paucity of the options on our bench every week will tell you that. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see any signings in January. We're skint.
  3. I dunno if it's an age thing, but I cannot stand Open Goal. It's obviously very popular, but nah, not for me.
  4. I guess we'll find out when Celtic play Feyenoord. I think I already know the answer
  5. Does that crime rate statistic include breaking lockdown rules to have extra marital affairs? Asking for a friend
  6. I think if we have learned anything from the last few days it's that even Aberdeen supporters fucking hate Aberdeen
  7. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter
  8. I listen to it more for the Patreons these days, I am not that interested in the Premiership now Dundee United are not in it, and the club specific Patreons are always interesting. The Shaughan/Telfer podcasts are great, but they are a lot less frequent when the TV show is running. Fair enough, they all have day jobs and time is limited. Other than that, I listen to the Guardian football one, the Price of Football podcast, and the Upshot. Spotify keeps trying to force me to listen to the Rest Is Football podcast, but f**k that. Listened to it once, lasted five minutes. ETA: The Dode Fox podcast is very good, but I am not sure how interesting it would be to people who don't support Dundee United.
  9. I'd like this game to be off. It would be nice having a weekend where I don't have to think about Dundee United
  10. If we treat yesterday's result as a defeat, that's four defeats in all competitions this season, three of which have been on artificial surfaces. Just confirms my pet theory that Dundee United have issues with artificial surfaces, and we have done for years. Or maybe we're just imploding.
  11. Rory McLeod not playing for Forfar yesterday, presumably to avoid him being cup tied. Some laugh
  12. Didn't it just! I think it was the Tranent players getting frustrated as Forfar were very professional in seeing the game out.
  13. Very sad news regarding what happened after the game yesterday https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/dundee/4823574/dundee-utd-match-death/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  14. Also at Tranent 0 Forfar 1 (I've been a few times now so I dont know if it still counts as random). The home team should have been a couple of goals ahead in the first half, between wayward finishing, bad luck and good saves from Marc McCallum, they weren't. The second half was more even, and once Forfar scored from a set piece Tranent never really looked like equalising.
  15. We're allowed a handball goal in the Scottish Cup every ten years or so. I don't make the rules
  16. It's very odd, isn't it? We're talking about a manager who hasn't lost a league game this season, and we're almost in December. Despite that, given the way we finished last season it always felt as if he was two bad results away from being under pressure...and we've just had two bad results. The next three league games are massive. Win them and we'll be strong favourites to go up. Lose any of them, especially the Rovers game on the 16th, and we're in a bit of bother.
  17. Win next week and it will probably be fine, for now. The pressure is certainly on now...
  18. Evidently cup football just isn't Jim Goodwin's thing
  19. Especially so considering George Russell himself has admitted that he was at fault for that one
  20. If you can't get street parking on the main road going past the ground, there are a couple of car parks on Loch Road.
  21. Your argument seems to be that Off The Ball is good because other things are much worse. Not the win you think it is, my friend.
  22. I really enjoyed the final episode, and I think the 5 contestants have been as good a combination as they've ever had, the mix was fantastic. Loved Julian's absolute contempt for Alex and the show all the way through, and as close as it was, I think the right person won in the end. I'd never heard of Sam Campbell before, but I found his random weirdness quite endearing. As much as it feels like they are running out of ideas with the tasks, some of the ones this series were very good (for balance, there were some really shite ones as well). I haven't laughed as hard in ages as I did at the hotel task, especially the team of three. "Punch the c**t" was also a good laugh as well.
  23. We should win, obviously, but even if we do it won't be easy. That's not how we do things. Well, unless we're playing Partick Thistle.
