  1. I was at North Sea Jazz over the weekend. Great venue in a great city, over 200 acts, top notch food and drink, acres of gorgeous Dutch girls and, best of all, no neds for hundreds of miles.

    Define "others".

Those who aren't enjoying the "relative wealth" in "this part of the world", seeing as it's never has been a better time to be alive here, as per Oaksofts post.

So how do you propose we "mend the roof"?

That's a hell of an extrapolation from Oaksoft v2.0s post and mine, to that.
    Please show your working.

All the more reason then to try and mend the roof for others from a position of relative comfort instead of idly sitting back like an I'm alright Jack sad act.

Britain created iraq after WW1. Along with America we’ve been fucking them and Iran over since then pretty much.

One minute Rumsfeld is shaking hands with Saddam the next he’s calling for him to be removed. They linked up 9/11 to Iraq through a lie and hundreds of thousands of innocent people died because of that. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia can do what they want because they play ball with us.

I can only recall Robin Cook standing up and really questioning foreign policy in parliament. You would think it would be an open goal for opposition politicians yet they sit quiet. I’m not saying Saddam was a great person but we put him there and supported him for years.

    Is that a yes?

Like we did in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya etc. How's that worked out?

    You seem easily confused.

Even if a labour government negotiated a deal with a customs union etc, they can still put it back to the people for comfirmation that they still want to Brexit.

It wouldn't be the first time a government called a referendum on their own plan and didn't back it. Cameron called 2 referendums on Brexit and on Alternate Vote and campaigned for the status quo both times.

What Brexit plan did Cameron have and fail to back?

Labour’s latest position on Brexit is far from perfect but it’s a big step in the right direction.

😂 Their position on Brexit is weak, lily-livered and a complete and utter embarrassment. They've had a century and a bit of being a serious political party but they're now an unlamented irrelevance.

Aren't we presiding over the longest period of wage stagnation since the Napoleonic Wars? The onset of neoliberalism has saw inequality shoot up and undo much of the progress we made in the post war period as the welfare state dies by a thousand cuts.

It matters in that it transfers wealth to the richest. So you have the double whammy of the government having less to spend on services and the richest having extra money to buy assets they can use as a source of rent.

Until MMT is recognised we are stuck with the current nonsense monetary policy.

    😂

Blair cemented the notion that there was no alternative. Will be class when the ice sheets collapse and we can drown him in the partially underwater Hague.

Blair is just a Washington Consensus frontman.

Every single aspect of the Washington Consensus is crumbling. He will be remembered as part of that failure.

Nope.  Still South Bucks.  Still trying to decide between Amersham, Aberdeenshire and EH7 as the nicest places to live in The UK as, of course, I have no axe to grind.

Don't you think EH7 has suffered enough?

Why don't you set up a poll asking the over 60s (of Scots born and bred) how they voted last time and how they intend voting next time.

What's the relevance of being Scots born and bred? Why not ask all over 60's?
