  1. Im not surprised about other supporters commenting, I'm well aware it's a football forum and people have opinions. I responded to your questions and questioning of Hopkin, I then explained how we are able to bring these players in by freeing up wages, just today we have freed up a wage and I'd expect one or two others to go as well. What I said was I'm surprised that an Airdrie fans knows the ins and outs of a club he doesn't follow, simple really.
  2. I believe he's back in Scotland and is 5/6 weeks away from Fitness. So I've heard anyway.
  3. These are signings that Hopkin has identified as wanting the club to sign, I think it's quite the opposite, they are allowing him to make the signings he wants, if they didn't have faith in him they wouldn't be allowing that. I had no idea you knew the ins and outs of Livingston Football club, we have already released 2 players, all be it young lads but it's freed up £300 a week, that I can assure you is a player and a bits wages at Livingston these days, we are also likely to release a couple more which will probably free up around £500 which gives us room to manoeuvre. When players come in its a certainty players will go out. I can't seem to make my mind up reading through Airdrie fans posts, one week Airdrie will win this league, next week that's that then, then the next back to winning the league again. Btw these signings have been on the cards before the last two games, the club knew every other team was likely to strengthen, especially our main challengers, they are not panic signings they are signings to keep us ahead of the competition.
  4. Yeh as super south says, he's been back in Scotland for a while, I've bumped into him up at St. John's a couple times, he's been out injured for a while. I don't know anything about him being told he couldn't use the training facilities though, I'd like to think that wasn't true because he was such a good servant to us but who knows.
  5. I believe Mark Millar is signing for us, always rated him when ever I've seen him. Do a job for us still ?
  6. Rumour has it Mark Millar is on his way to Livingston from QoS, signed before Saturday's game.
  7. I've seen him once or twice in St. John's recently, think he just went through surgery. If he's still available id be looking at him for next season but we have more than enough in midfield this season.
  8. Clubs really pulled together, from players and staff to fans. For a change the club is doing things right and supporting Shaun in his difficult time.
  9. I believe that Crighton, Lithgow, Watt, Cadden and now Knox are under contract for next season already. I'd like to think that if we did get promoted we'd be looking at atleast 1 new centre back. Id be very happy to keep this squad of players together. Depending on Kelly's situation if we could manage to get him again, keep Halkett and Longridge plus maybe 1 or two that's a solid start to our team. Pittman is an absolute must to get signed up and wouldn't be against Byrne and Miller either. Buchanan is worth another year, Danny Mullen has came into his own as well this year. Carrick for me offers the same as Danny Mullen, we are in the fortunate position to have 3 very decent forwards and I'd like to see us keeping them together also. De Vita is the only question mark for me, not that I don't want to keep him but I think he maybe will want to access his options first. So basically keep nearly this whole squad together but add one or two more preferably in the defence and I think we'd have a good squad for championship football (if we get promoted ofcourse)
  10. Mark Burchill done a fair job with us, kept is up when we looked doomed, won the challenge cup that season too. The problem he had the following season was that he had barely any time to put a team together, we had a transfer embargo and he had about 4 weeks to sign an entire squad of players. Unfortunately he signed poorly, jobs for the boys comes to mind, quite a few of his signings where appalling, and giving some of those players 2 year contracts was mad. Comes across really well, talks a good game and maybe under better circumstances may have done a better job in his 2nd season. Nice guy and I'd like to see him given another chance, as long as he doesn't take too many points away from us if he does get the job.
  11. I thought it was odd that Watt wasn't on the bench today, is it only 5 subs in Scottish cup ? Either way he's not been given much of a chance this season, think he could offer us something but the way we set up Pittman is an automatic pick as is Miller, we then have Sinclair and Byrne who is being preferred just now. Cadden has been in and out of the team, it's been between him and Josh Mullin who's started and who's been on the bench.
  12. Our players are on low full time wages, I have it on good authority that teams like Peterhead are paying more on players than us, Mcalister is on £1300 a week. Lets not kid around, ofcourse we are running at a loss, the club have said as much, we are taking a gamble on gaining promotion but aren't paying over the odds for any of these players. De vita is on pennies, he's here to put himself back in the shop window for next season, likewise if we do sign McMillan it will be the same.
  13. Aww ffs, a few weeks ago we lost and it was the same call, sack the manager, nothing since then because yet again we beat our two nearest rivals which btw thoroughly deserves to get Hopkin MOTM, considering how well both Brechin and Alloa have been going, and now sit clear at the top of the league, our aim for the season is promotion. We then lose to a team that has recourses 3 to 4 times more than us and the manager needs to go again. We have built a team to try and win league 1 and if we keep doing what we are doing in the league that will be achieved, what more do you want from him ? Let last season go, I called for his sacking on more than 1 occasion last season, I'm happy to admit that, but this season apart from the odd game we've been very good, all be it against poorer opposition but we still have to win these games. Give him a chance, must be the only club in the country who's fans want the manager sacked despite sitting top of the league.
  14. Oh goodie, away to Airdrieonians in the Scottish cup 3rd round. How exciting for both sets of fans.
  15. So the Irn Bru cup game against crusaders is to be replayed on Tuesday 1st November at 7:45. Fair to say we have been given a second chance, I fully expected to be kicked out of the competition. Cant see many of any Livi fans making the trip this time around with it being midweek but thankful to have another chance at it.
  16. He's a big fans favourite with Livi, stuck with the club during a really dark time in the clubs history and the fans never forgot that. Was a real good player back in his first spell with us, can't believe he's only 29, thought he was older than that too. Fantastic signing and a real statement of intent by the club.
  17. Raffa de vita signs until the end of the season, great signing for this level.
  18. It's pretty clear so it would seem but if you look at the Irn Bru cup section he isn't even listed. No excuse, it's a balls up no doubt about it.
  19. Let's get behind the players tomorrow, they are bound to be feeling it today after this news as well, will need lifted ahead of this important league game. Its very frustrating, annoying and embarrassing but the league is the big thing this season, lets get back to being positive and give them our backing tomorrow, they will need it.
  20. Brilliant, cheers. I know it was only the challenge cup but you can never beat that feeling of a last minute winner and celebrating with the team, especially after a long journey, I'm the one going insane that makes it to the team first, tripping people up on the way down the stairs, sorry to whoever that was hahaha.
  21. Greg Spence tweeted that he wanted £20 on Barry Smith, I'm suspecting he's just stirring but who knows ?
