  1. I wasn't meaning both, would be one of the other, plus a young goalkeeper as back up. Wouldnt like the Airdrie keeper, going by some of the comments from Airdrie fans they don't rate him at this level.
  2. Was trying to think of Goalkeepers that would come in, if Kelly was released by Rangers I wouldn't be against giving him another go next season, despite his occasional brain fart, if not how about Neil Alexander ? ok so he's 39 now but could go another season, would all depend on him and his wage demands though but there is an emotional pull to Livi I'm sure, he spent a good couple seasons here in his younger days.
  3. Was having a look through our current squad for next season and trying to decide who id keep and who I'd let go, this is all dependent on if we win promotion though, still a long way to go, so here goes... Already signed for next season are :- Sean Crighton, Alan Lithgow, Mathew Knox, Josh Mullin, Nicky Cadden, Scott Pittman and Danny Mullen. From those id try and get Lithgow released if we could, I think the championship is just a step too far for him, Crighton I'd keep as cover. So the rest go like this :- Liam Kelly - return to parent club Nikolay Toderov - return to parent club The following are out of contract :- Mikey Miller, Jackson Longridge, Shaun Byrne, Mark Millar, Liam Buchanan, Keaghan Jacobs, Jordan Sinclair, Raffa De Vita, Dale Carrick, Declan Gallagher, Craig Halkett, Morgyn Neill, Gary Maley. So from that I'd release the following :- Mark Millar :- he's done ok but for me he should be bossing it at this level and although he did for the first couple games he hasn't really done so since. Raffa De Vita :- Again like above he should be running the show at this level, you can see he's got skill but I think he slows us down with his lack of pace, he's a fans favourite and a club legend so might not be popular on this one. Morgyn Neill :- By all accounts he's done well at Stranraer on loan, and by the sounds of things Hoppy likes him and he's getting a new contract but I'm not convinced he could make the step up to the championship, I think we'd be in trouble if he was one of our first choice CB's next season. Gary Maley :- Would rather see a youngster on the bench getting to experience the first team, match days etc. The rest id like to see given extended contracts, Craig Halkett is a must, id love to see Declan Gallagher staying but that is highly unlikely as he wants to move south, Buchanan I think still has another season or two in him to score goals in the championship, im also a huge fan of Dale Carrick but not sure he will want to stay and be back up again next season. A new Goalkeeper would be priority, as well as a RB, I think we'd need another winger and another striker, preferably a target man to give us 4 strikers too and that would be us all set for a crack at the championship. So a line up of something like :- Goalkeeper, Longridge, Halkett, Gallagher, RB, Cadden, Jacobs, Pittman, Byrne, Mullin, Mullen. Bench :- GK, Crighton, Miller, Sinclair, Knox/new winger, Carrick/new target man, Buchanan. Sorry for rambling, what's everyone's thoughts ?
  4. That's came completely out of the blue, strange it's not been a big story in any of the major tabloids. Reads like 5 games with 3 suspended. Will be a huge miss that's for sure, been solid for us beside Pitts, ready made replacement in Millar though. Will be interesting to see how it affects the team tomorrow, hopefully it motivates them and doesn't put a shade of doubt into there minds. Only time will tell.
  5. 4 wins, a draw and a defeat. Be happy with that, and would see us almost there I think.
  6. Noticed on twitter that Craigshill Thistle have announced that there community pitches will be getting a face lift after a meeting with the council, looking at the pictures they are going to have a new build club house, a full sized pitch possibly 3G plus what looks like 3 x 7 a side pitches, with car parks etc. It seems to be getting a regular occurrence, I'm not against it in the slightest, it's brilliant, but in recent times, Blackburn have had a major upgrade thanks to the council, as have Muiriston, Broxburn and now Craigshill, meanwhile we are getting lumped with huge rent costs which possibly may go up yet again and but are getting turned down for a 4g pitch. Its fairly obvious that the club could become a real centre hub for community sport, but the council are looking elsewhere to do this, maybe it's time our supporters started asking the council some questions ? I know this has been spoken about for years but surely a move to another location in West Lothian benefits all parties ? I read somewhere that the council have nearly a 10 million gap in the budget, Move to a smaller facility, 3500-4000 seats with terracing, 4g pitch, with a training pitch and many other facilities for local sports and clubs, sell the current land which must be worth in excess of 10 million build the new smaller facilities for less than half that, still get rent and they have made money ? Just an idea, but think fans need to start questioning the councils commitment to Livingston football club, it seems to me they are just using us a cash cow for rent. Opinions ?
  7. Wonder what the possibility is of our game on Saturday being reversed, looking at the forecast on Saturday I can only see one outcome, and that's another postponement. Play saturdays game at Ochilview, obviously that's down to them, us and the spfl making that decision. Edit:- just checked and it wouldn't be possible, East Stirlingshire at home on Saturday, oh well, maybe head along to Alloa, Airdrie or one of the local junior games if any of them make it past the weather.
  8. Don't, I repeat DONT park at the ground, it's a complete rip off £5 I think. Ample parking around Livingston, the college at the top of the hill, plenty spaces near the swimming pool at the top of the hill, there is a school at the other side of the stadium to park at, and even a new housing scheme just across the road from the ground that you could park at.
  9. Logie is spot on btw, read it all before Fwiw, One of our worst kits ever, only just outdone by the other kit you mentioned in the article imo. Xara was a decent quality top, although really heavy material, can't imagine running around for 90 minutes in it.
  10. Hearing he fractured his leg last night and will be out for at least 8 weeks, can't see him playing for us this season.
  11. Expensive squad, the clubs budget for the season is 400k, we have a squad of what 27 or 28 ? do the maths, we aren't paying over the odds for any of these players. Anyway that's not the argument, the argument was whether we play better football under him that we did under Hughes and that's easy, we most certainly are, it's still not great but it's affective, Hughes football was dreadful and ineffective.
  12. Funny, when I saw that my initial reaction was poor Bobby Barr. Tbf to Yogi his "philosophy" is a good one but only if you have the players to play that way, when he was at Livi he didn't and because of that it was just awful to watch, side to side and backwards passing, was some of the most boring football I've ever seen and stopped our creative players like Bobby flourishing.
  13. Pretty harsh, the 34 year old was always going to be number 2, he was signed to be number 2, Connor was a development signing, one for the future, when I saw him for the development team, he looked fairly comfortable.
  14. Never played for the first team, I think I seen him twice for the development side and done ok, seemed like a good lad hope he does well.
  15. Ok I'll admit it, I did "dangle it out there" I still thought it was a good article and a good read for me so thought other Livi fans would like to read it also. Btw Callum is most definitely an Airdrie fan, he goes to the games at Airdrie when he has a rare day off work.
  16. Don't shoot the messenger, I didn't write it, I thought it was a good read and pretty interesting, and I agreed with a lot of it "obviously because I'm a Livi fan" I just posted the article on the Livi thread.
  17. I don't take pleasure in sharing the Daily Ranger rag but this is a West Lothian courier article. Excellent read this and absolutely spot on. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/sportsview-livingston-deserve-more-credit-9779672
  18. He was, I even commented on that fact to a couple of mates, was clearly a buldge at the side of his ankle underneath his sock.
  19. Albion Rovers rearranged for Tuesday 21st February, 7:45 kick off.
  20. I'm quite surprised so many are wanting to see Todorov starting, I know Mullen missed 2 or 3 chances but he scored a great goal and was a pest for the Alloa defence all day, for me he was our MotM, felt he was outstanding, won just about everything in the air against bigger defenders all day, him and Buchy are an excellent partnership. Todorov certainly gives us something different but to me he looks clumsy, he's full of enthusiasm but I'm yet to be convinced, granted we've only seen him in cameo appearances so far.
  21. This is exactly how we've been playing, when in possession we are just about a back 3, Gallagher, Halkett, Lithgow with Crighton playing as a Right Midfielder, or as you say having the whole right side to himself, Cadden on the left with the 3 in midfield. Sounds absolutely ridiculous but that's how its been the last couple weeks.
  22. This Have to say does it really matter ? The crowd was down by about 150 from the previous game between the two teams, but because of the higher price we didn't lose out any.
