  1. With the goals he has scored, the fact that he isn't even 20 yet and most importantly he wouldnt command a huge wage, means to me he was worth another year and giving him a slot on the bench to see what he could do in the Championship. Have a feeling he might be lining up against us next season!
  2. Clear out was needed, clear out achieved. Biggest disappointment for me is that McLaughlin was freed. Have seen a lot of the development squad and the boy has an eye for goal and has never been given a chance. He wouldn't command a big wage and I reckon he was due another year to see if he could kick on. Of the rest, at a push I would have kept Keown and Storey (only if he was played as a striker) Booth and Lawless look like they have agreed options with other clubs, so good luck to them. Glad to se the rest go, especially Scully, Fraser and Dumbaya. Going to be an interesting few weeks in the transfer market, to say the least.
  3. If you believe The Star this morning he has been told the club want him to remain. Dare say it's up to Archie now. I would imagine he will decide by the end of this week at the very latest as he hinted at that in the post match interviews!
  4. According to The Star, Beatts has asked Archie to stay on and get us straight back up!
  5. I was at the game!!! My point was we had to go for it on Sunday and our best attacking left back was left on the bench to accomodate a right footed full back playing in his position!
  6. Totally depends on who wants to stay out of the under contract players.
  7. Does that apply to the clubs new manager as well?.......mindboggling!!
  8. Good signing if you get him. Only one that busted a gut yesterday
  9. Don't think we will now be in a position to continually pay wages to guys that are not going to kick a ball for season upon season. Would hope that if Bannigan and/or Fraser are kept on it will be on a pay as you play basis, certainly for at least 6 months, until their fitness has been shown. Would be disappointed if they wouldn't accept that given the way the club has supported them. A fully fit Fraser and Bannigan would be a massive bonus next season.
  10. Archie made it clear that all the players under contract had relegation clauses. If the wages get reduced can they leave on free's or can they be kept on reduced money because they agreed to having that written in the contract. Anybody know? Think we are gonna see a barrel load of departures in the next few days, which might not be a bad thing considering the way we have performed this season. There has been a staleness running through the club this season. Place needs gutting!
  11. No defensiveness here, just stating facts. If it comes down to needing a new manager who do you want....Jim Duffy?
  12. Nah, Toastie is a copper these days. The reason they left Thistle for Motherwell was that Motherwell offered them double the wages they were on at Firhill. Something you would turn down for doing the same job? Thought not!
  13. My brother in law is a Well fan and knows Craggs. It was him that told me that he wanted the Well job. Who knows. If Archie leaves I would certainly take him if he was interested
  14. I said towards the end of the season that if Archie chucked it, I would take Hopkins as a replacement. Not much chance of that now, but he certainly knows how to set a limited team up and get them organised and fight for every ball. Things that we are sadly lacking. Might not be everybody's cup of tea but I would take Steve Craigan as manager. Did well when he was interim at Motherwell, was apparently gutted he didn't get the job and the Well fans I know think he is doing a good job with their development side. He asked to play us for his testimonial, so he obviously still has feelings for the club. Pretty sure he would encourage youth to come through the ranks. I don't see the board sacking Archie, but looking at the BT Sport interview and the Jagzone one, he looks he has decided enough is enough.
  15. Just why he was on the bench today beggared belief when we started with a right footed left back. We created more when he came in than we did in the two games put together. Just one of many baffling decisions this season
  16. Time to review the sports science and fitness guys at the club as well. We seem to be the only club in Scotland where guys get injured, come back for a few games, get injured, come back for a few games, get injured etc etc. The injuries at the club are ridiculous and something ain't right. Cerny, Doumbaya, Keown, Elliot, Booth and Osman have all had lengthy injury spells. Erskine and Doolan appear to have been carrying knocks for most of the season and Bannigan has been missing for two seasons and Fraser for 3 seasons. Unacceptable!
  17. Archie on jagzone saying 16 out of contract and the rest all have clauses saying reduced money if we drop a division. Not sure if that means they can get free's or not but the place will get gutted, which is not a bad thing going by the efforts this season. . I would give decent offers to Cerny, Doolan, Erskine, Booth and Lawless (though think the latter two will be off) Possibily keep Spittal, Keown,Edwards, Elliot, if they want to stay. Regular starts for Penrice and McCarthy. First priority is getting the defence sorted. We need a commanding presence in defence and midfield. Keep most of the above and we will be in the mix next season
  18. Good to see VikingPORN still hasn't got over the last time we were in the Championship. Hope you have fully recovered from your meltdown!
  19. Spot on. I couldn't believe that Booth (especially) and Penrice were on the bench with right footed Christie Elliot playing in their position. Baffling to say the least. Elliot at right back was the call. McGinn had a shocker! We missed a great chance to get after Livi down the flanks with the omission of Booth. Lawless was the only guy in the team that got pass marks from me today. Worked his backside off, with no little amount of skill involved.
  20. No complaints about going down. Livi deserved it over the two legs. Just watched a rerun of the game on BT and Archie looks a broken man. As has been happening on regular occasions this season why were we playing Christie Elliot at left back with Booth and Penrice on the bench. If Booth was fit he should have been a clear 1st choice, if not we should have went with Penrice. Elliot should have been played at right back instead of McGinn. No coincidence that we created more in the 15 minutes Booth was on the pitch than we did in the previous 105 minutes of the tie. Just glad to see the back of this season, though I think next week will be an interesting week at the club to say the least!j
  21. In the knowledge that he comes across as quite a dour person, Archie looks a broken man on that Jagzone after match interview last night!
  22. Exactly what I thought. Surely the Takeover board will have something to say about that!! Where is all the Chinese, Saudi investment that Sevconians were hearing and boasting about??? Oh dear looks like the Gullibillies have been taken in for the umpteenth time....lol
