  1. i hope so. However, much as i abhor the 11 to 1 vote, he is wrong to suggest that enlarging the SPL is being held up by the exOF, the other clubs in the SPL have been complicit in blocking this because they wanted the 4 fixtures against the cheeks each season. Hopefully this recent awareness of the folly of that policy will enable us to get a proper league.
  2. Either or but with no Celtic/sevco in scottish football? That's a result. (Good to see that the cheeks are in solidarity mode though.)
  3. He's saying that we are all deluded as opposed to Traynor, Young, RFC Forums, their supporters in general and, of course, their management. So that's us tell't then.
  4. As of Feb this year (to be updated for this years competition) UEFA rate the top 5 in terms of Euro performance in the previous 5 years as: Man Utd Barcelona Chelsea Bayern Munich Liverpool. With Rangers 33rd. Top for attendances in Domestic leagues are; Dortmund Barcelona Man Utd Real Madrid Bayern Top in rich list (Deloitte) are: Real Madrid Barcelona Man Utd Bayrn Munich Arsenal I know, statto forum for this pish.
  5. I'm not sure if anyone is saying that a CVA is "OK"? The point I've made is that it's irrelevant to this saga to have a dig at teams that have taken this route as opposed to going titsup, reforming as a newco then going for a return in some way with no liabilities. Businesses that come out of admin by the cva route have a tough time for a few years, however unpalatable that might be to creditors and competitors that's the way it is. Personally I've no problem with that and would have had no problem with ex Rangers if they had done the same. Well, no more a problem than I have with the cheeks in general that is.
  6. That's the key point welshbairn. From ManU to diddy Aberdeen most clubs have debt but service it as an operating cost. Swapping debt stories with other clubs is ridiculous; the point is are you paying the interest and/or guaranteeing the debt in some way just like any other business? The other pointless exercise on here is slagging off anyone who has gone through admin. Ex Rangers had the choice to do this just the same as Murderwell, Dee etc., all they had to do was get a cva that was acceptable to 75% of their creditors. If they had done this there would be no argument that they would continue in the SPL, probably with sanctions which are a seperate issue.
  7. I know, that's what a vote is supposed to be like. This was to madwullie who is nae happy with my view that Killie loaded question vote is a shocker!
  8. It's outrageous because he's asking people to vote, giving them 2 yes options and 1 no option complete with threat. As for the rest of the diddies, gi' yourself a shake min, most of us don't give a monkey's about newco, what's important is that our own clubs do the right thing rather than chase the big buck which never seems to materialise anyway. The two worst club responses so far is this Killie joke letter and AFC mickey mouse "no comment". No one is expecting to be better off; we just want the shafting to stop somewhere. Oh, and keep you're timmybhoy sh*te, you're slip is showing.
  9. Reference MJ's letter to Killie fans. This is the most outrageous loaded question in this saga so far. What he should do is lay out the facts and then ask for a straight yes/no vote. If he has to succumb to loaded qusetions what about a second "No" option; No, the newco should be denied entry as they are no more than a stalking horse for the same old crap that will eventually kill of any sporting team with integrity.
  10. You won't need a wreath. United can go bust, liquidate, newco as "The Dundee United" and get voted straight back in to the SPL with a clean sheet ....presumably.
  11. Call me an old sentimentalist but I don't think you can just throw out history and so whatever Greene and his posse say they will always be Newco to me. There...I've said it and I feel a lot better now.
  12. Arbroath are not a bunch of bigots that have shafted the tax man and the rest of Scottish fitba for years. It's the old scottish presbeterian (sp?) joke about the guy who pleads at the pearly gates that he didn't know he was doing wrong; God replies "Well ye ken noo!" If you knowingly want to follow a vile organistaion such as one of the cheeks you can hardly claim that you don't know the issues.
  13. Rapid's end game may well be for sfa/uefa/fifa (Anybody!) to intervene in Everton paying the Jelavic fee somehow. Not convinced they will do it but as they will get £90k max from a cva they've nothing to lose and I think they'll stick in and make a lot of trouble. It's these little bits that will finally do for RFC; they have an amazing ability to disgust everyone who crosses their path.
  14. HMS, good reality check on US "soccer". Anecdote only; I have two sons, one in London and one in Singapore. Both rely on forums to get this story as there is next to nothing in local/ national press in London and absolutely nothing in Singapore. Also, fellow sheepshaggers will note that our local rag has led, on the back page, with this story only once or twice since it began, it's usually two or three pages in from the back with a wee column next to the bowls! A bit cheeky but I like it! On reflection, there are about 50,000 fans go to each cheeks home games and about 100,000 to the other 10 (sad but true) and that adds up to about 200,000 paying SPL fans in Scotland. Add in a few armchair fans and non SPLfans and there's really not a lot more interest in this outside the hardcore who read/post the forums? Only the paying customers count so don't get me wrong, we have clout but it is a minority interest.
  15. This has been interesting to me also. It's not just that the "establishment" club has had no real effort by supporters (individually or groups) to push through a package genuinely trying to save their club (I mean real offers; not BK claptrap) but also that there has been no real interrogation from high profile "fans". You would have thought that with their obvious fan base in the scottish legal/finance/business world someone would have led the charge against the obvious carve up of the club by a bunch of charlatans but....nothing! Where is the gersbiased equivalent of RTC or Scotslawthoughts? Nothing. It's been left to the forums who, with due respect, are bogged down with whataboutery in their ongoing bigotfest with the other cheeks. I work in a biggish (100 times bigger tha RFC) company with a heavy weegie management content; not a peep from thes guys on what might happen, how it happened and what they could add to the argument. I think that their fans fall in to the two classic categories just the same as every other team; dedicated fans who will support their team whatever and BIRG (basking in reflected glory) fans. Unfortunately they think they're mostly the former but they are finding out that they are mostly the latter.
  16. I ken, going round and round in circles with this stuff! May have picked it up wrong but we're having a long debate on suspension or suspended suspension(!) of RFC(IA) by the SFA and making comparisons with a suspended sentence handed out by the courts. All I'm saying is that it is not comparable with the courts because it's about association articles; small point but the rfcmedia are keen to muddy the waters with talk of what's fair and what isn't. It's very clear, abide by the association articles or leave any time you want.
  17. It's the SFA, an association, not a criminal court. All the clubs agree to work within the articles or they can exit at any time and go to law. Analogies with criminal proceedings are fun but not relevant. Glennie found that the sanction was not specifically listed as an option in the articles of the association, he has no jurisdiction on the validity or severity of the sanctions.
  18. Sorry but it's not like that at all. This isn't some arbritary "headmaster" giving someone the belt, analogous of course. It's a fundamental of football as a sport, and in many other sports and competitions, that there is an association set of rules that all members agree to work within, otherwise it's bedlam. People going externally on every issue, challenging every decision in court etc. It can't happen. Anybody who has been involved in any level of football from schools up knows this, only the Orcs are ignoring it, or at least their administrators did. Sorry if this comes across as po faced but I dislike the succulent lamb agenda to rewrite these asociation principles to accomodate RFC(IA).
