  1. Cockwomble saying tonight that he can't see the difference between a plain loaf and a baguette. He'll deny it later. (We're on a roll here!)
  2. No don't encourage them, I can see the Daily Ranger story tomorrow: "Sources close to a supermarket predict soaring plain loaf prices if no strong Rangers in the SPL."
  3. It's hard to predict what the SFA will come up with as an alternative to a transfer embargo. If they want to actually move the issue along they might think about suspension until certain criteria are met. e.g. 1. Agreement with HMRC on way forward on post Whyte taxes and NI, whether or not they pay their tax over a period or not at all the issue should be to get them compliant with the tax authorities. 2. I imagine they will want Whyte off the scene as he was specifically named as "bringing the game into disrepute". 3. CVA or whatever they could insist on RFC producing an independent "fit and proper" review of whoever owns them. This is the responsibility of any company in any business so this would just be a formalised review on pre agreed terms. The first might be difficult but it is the stalemate at the moment. The second two are chicken shit. Either that or expulsion. Could keep them going until the BTC and dual contracts come along.
  4. That's why it's called a transfer embargo. Just like the one currently in plce on RFC(IA). The argument is you think it's discrimintion while some others don't. Any chance of moving on?
  5. Fair enough, I was being a wee bit tongue in cheek. Neither have I anyway but we have one thing to be grateful to RFC(IA) for and that's getting some home truths about the game and the business of fitba in Scotland talked about.
  6. 1. Walter Smith managed Rangers. 2. Rangers other cheek is Celtic. Got it in two. Same with Barry whatever and all the rest of the erses.
  7. You're probably right, but you wouldn't grudge an old man his dreams would you?
  8. Remember the old league cup set up at the start of the season in days gone by? All the clubs split into leagues of 4, iirc played 3 games wed/sat/wed (?), and the winners progressing to a knock out competition. I thought a few years ago that it might be worth rerunning it as it would get us started with some games prior to the earlier starts we have in Europe (I'm talking about all those Scottish teams good enough to qualify, not us!) without jeopardising league performance. The point is as you made, we'd be better looking at options to get the most out of our game rather doing a chicko i.e. assuming no life without rangers.
  9. On the EBT thing, the Beeb have done a decent job here in trying to open up this story, that's all they're doing as HMRC are in possession of the facts on EBT's and the SPL have started their investigation into dual contracts. It's not the Beeb who are making the accusations, they are merely trying to get a story. If they've got it wrong then defamation writs will be slapped on the desk, the rest is just idle chatter. The SPL and SFA are playing a game of who blinks first; both hoping that someone else takes the rap for winding up the Orcs and takes the ensuing personal risks. On the Duff and Duffer/CW/Ticketus/SDM who knew what and when story; looks like a no brainer but I don't think anyone has actually raised it as a criminal or otherwise illegal act? In that case they are leading the story on the MSM so I'd guess they will home in on that going forward.
  10. Rubbish, they're in competition with every other news media. Even more so when the tories are in the ascendancy and baying for cuts. BBC Newsnight, thumbs up for me. BC sportsound, sack the useless chunts.
  11. No problem then....unless the golden handshake was pre agreed? Honestly I have no idea, I'm 100% fishing but it could be a bit scary for some.
  12. As per the other lot it's of limited interest whether or not the tax situation around the use of EBT's is sorted between the club and HMRC, it's only money. The point is did he have dual contracts, if so the player was improperly registered, the club is in trouble and the same repercussions apply?
  13. That is a good summary from girondistNYC. The HMRC case is only about the tax, the real trouble for the h*** is when the dual contracts the players signed (cue Orcfans "innocent until...." again) to get their EBT's come to light; at any level of football illegal contracts and wrongly registered players (even honest mistakes) are not tolerated. GTF!!
  14. Correct, HMRC have judged in this and other cases that the use of payments via a trust (and taxed at EBT levels) for services to the company of employees (and officers) is fraudulent in terms of taxation liabilities i.e. use of EBT's illegal.
  15. If the EBT illegality is upheld (RFC are appealling an HMRC decision that they are illegal) then names of the EBT'ers is interesting but not essential at the moment. If there are double contracts associated then the names are essential because the games that they played in are nullified. No one really expects the SFA/SPL/UEFA to go back and change the scores but it would set the record straight albeit a bit late for the dopes they shafted i.e. us.
  16. That's a fine letter. As a fellow fitba fan I can empathise with every word in there and I totally applaud your heart felt feelings for Kilmarnock. What is coming out loud and clear is that most of the jokers who own and run our game do not have the remotest idea of what these feelings are and how they translate to fans coming through the gates and subsequently their phuckin existence.
  17. But the point of this RFC based discussions on newco's is not IF you go into admin, then liquidate, then appear as a newco. It's about CHOOSING to do this as a way of gaining an advantage. RFC didn't lose money because they had a tough trading period, they are in admin because they chose to spend money they should have paid in taxes to pay their players and run the club. If they get right back in we should all do it. (Cue Orcfans "presumed innocent until..." posts.)
  18. As I said about 300 pages ago all the OF fans I've ever met are all right as long as they're winning, otherwise they're ars*holes.
  19. Dungcaster qualified and worked as a solicitor and has an MBA. He knows the difference between a CVA and a newco deal, he knows also the huge difference in the outcome and repercussions. He is lying and the question is why? (That's rhetorical btw)
