  1. Jupp Heynckes had said in 2013 that he had 'no intention of coaching again', and then in 2017 returned to coaching and won the Bundesliga.
  2. Not entirely. I think, as I said above, that Mark Roberts struggled to go from being one of the lads to being the main man. It's a very difficult transition.
  3. Of the list of candidates that was discussed, I would have liked to have went for Peter Houston, if he was interested. FWIW, I would put Mark Kerr above some of the candidates that were listed, but I'm just not sure how easy it is to go from 'one of the lads' to being the boss, within the space of a few days.
  4. Don't recall there ever being confirmation that Darren Young was 'the alternative', nor hearing that people would have been more happy with him. The fact is that giving the job to a man who has no coaching experience at all, regardless of how long he has been in full time dressing rooms, is a gamble that I don't believe was really necessary and certainly brings back memories of Mark Roberts, who let's not forget had also been 'in full time dressing rooms' for 20 years.
  5. With the exception of Derek McInnes, every one of those was at least a reserve team/youth team/academy coach prior to becoming a first team manager. Mark Kerr, on the other hand, came off the pitch on Saturday as a player and is suddenly now the manager. It's pretty evident that he would not have been anyone's first choice but I hope he proves me wrong.
  6. Managerial stripes should be earned in League Two or One, not at a club who are supposedly competing for the title in the Championship. Absolutely laughable appointment.

Started a Career Mode with my pal, decided to go for (Third Tier) FC Kaiserslautern as our club of choice. Sent a scout out to look for strikers whose prime attribute is pace. He came back a week later and suggested we sign Champions League and German International Timo Werner. F**k off.
  8. Sunderland have confirmed Phil Parkinson as their new manager. Absolute bargain bin appointment.
  9. El Camino - A whole lot of nothing. I enjoyed Breaking Bad, not to the extent of some people but I was still fairly happy to hear they were making a spin-off film. After finishing it last night, I can't help but feel it was all a bit pointless. 5/10 The Foreigner - Enjoyed this. Jackie Chan out for revenge after his daughter (Cho Chang from Harry Potter) got blown up by the RA. Piers Brosnan stars as a Former IRA Member now working for the UK Government. A good night's entertainment. 8/10 No Escape - Owen Wilson and Lake Bell* move their family to Asia and end up on the run from a large number of bandana-clad lunatics that want to kill them and every other foreigner in the country. Pretty shite summary from myself, but definitely worth a watch. 7/10
  10. The second series was filmed last season and will be aired at some point within the next few months.
  11. Hearing Rebekah has launched her own counter-investigation, led by The Vardy Boys. Amarite lads?
  12. Spectacular Wednesday morning entertainment, won't hear anyone say otherwise.
  13. An unfortunate consequence of having a couple of sizeable 'well-to-do' areas as well as a disgustingly large population of H**s.
  14. Thats a bit harsh go them into a final and the play off final.yes lost both by fine margins . wait and see if the next manager can do any better . didn't give him enough time down there sad . but he will get a top flight job up here to probs first manager to go he will get it It really isn't harsh or crazy at all. Look at the squad he has - Aiden McGeady, Will Grigg, Grant Leadbitter etc, as well as a massive budget for that division. As for the fact they have lost fewer games than everyone bar Man City and Liverpool, that is an incredibly deceptive statistic as about 28 of those games were draws. He hasn't earned more time at Sunderland, nor has he earned a Premiership job up here as some are suggesting.
  15. Wouldn't say he's earned the right to make such demands. He had comfortably the biggest budget in League One and only managed 5th place last season with SAFC. Still has a lot to prove.
  16. Hull. Every day of the week. The prison is genuinely the nicest building in the city.
  17. Sunderland are going absolutely nowhere under Jack Ross, unfortunately. Not a chance they, with the squad they have got, should be losing 2-0 at Lincoln City, a place where Oxford won 6-0 a couple of weeks back. Can see them binning Ross very soon.
  18. I mean, I was up the other end at the time, but how was ICT's first goal allowed to stand? Guy was lying injured beside the post, must surely have been offside and interfering with play? Other than that, only got ourselves to blame. We could have been 3-0 up by quarter past 3. ETA: Luke McCowan is a superb talent but really needs to learn to use his right foot.
  19. You're a fast mover. His Lordship is on his way back to the manor.
  20. See you've went and used the outlawed Ayr United badge there Div. Better lube up, the Lord Lyon is on his way to your gaff. Off with your head.
  21. It was fine initially, but writing lyrics lauding Mikey Donald for his spectacular performance against East Fife was cataclysmic levels of cringe.
