  1. Aye that's fair. I felt like he hid in the "cover shadow" (I know) too often.
  2. I once thought, for frankly far too long, that John Collins had returned to Fulham late on on his career as there was a boy called Collins John whose name would come up on the vide-printer .
  3. He looked rusty and not looking as lean as he did a year ago. Also, the number of times he would receive a pass and then return it was maddening. A lot of those times he had space to turn and play a progressive pass. I don't know what his next move is, but he looked, dare I say it, out of his depth today. A shite performance.
  4. Can't believe MacAllister is still down. Playacting shite. Gilmour looks rusty.
  5. Aye this has been a fine game. Two attacking teams, played in a great spirit (no niggly shite) and Tyldesley is on top form. Now to get wee Billy on
  6. As much as I love getting tore into fans of either cheek, I'd like to hear specifically what instance has triggered this thread. Have they done something new today?
  7. Or the one about the highly introverted Muslim. There is a Shi'ite that never goes out.
  8. More than McInnes? You seemed to enjoy him for a bit. And @Merkland Red, that is a decent point, Martindale would want more control than Cormack would be willing to give.
  9. Genuinely can't understand why you wouldn't go for Martindale. I understand it on an intellectual level , but it's daft. He's possibly the best manager in the division outside of the uglies.
  10. Aye Cosmo is the best thing about season 3. It felt uneasily like propaganda given what's going on in the world, and a lot of it felt a bit silly and clichéd. Enjoyable enough, and I pure fancy Nina Hoss, so her casting was a plus.
  11. And the banks were run by grasping goblins who looked like Jewish caricatures from Der Sturm. Gasp! She was a Death Eater all along.
  12. The lack of lights on these boys (as well as a resolute determination to ride in the gutter) gives me the fear. Skipping through red lights is laudable cycling behaviour though.
  13. I appreciate the idea of the thread, but this bit in bold, being unable to separate the art from the artist is the calling card of a moron. I know you're not exaggerating though and I know people who don't listen to certain bands they loved because of the political opinions of the singer. Even worse are the folk who defend Lewis Capaldi's "music" because he's apparently a sound and funny fella. Baffling. Anyhow, Steven Seagal, before social media and YouTube, was just a cool guy who did corny martial arts movies. Perhaps he was always a fruitloop and we just didn't know.
  14. There could be a thread on its own of "Kumbaya birthday caird pish" with this, half and half scarves, "can I have your shirt?" signs and various other "respect" gestures. Get all of it in the sea.
  15. Source Code (2013?) Time travel adventure with a twist starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan. Jake G is a former air force captain sent back in time to a parallel dimension to stop a bomb. Time travel is a tricky thing to surf in movies as it creates all sorts of plot holes. It's dealt with very well here, with the parameters and rules explained concisely. It's a very well done movie and it felt like it went by in a flash. Jake G and Vera Farmiga are excellent, as is Monaghan. The plot is easy to follow which means I was invested very quickly. The ending is hopeful and the message is overall one of hope, perseverance and embracing the unexpected. I absolutely loved this.
  16. Damian fucking Casilanuovo diving like superman to punch the ball over the line. Genuinely haven't been that seething at a goal being given in my life. b*****d.
  17. I thought it was pro bono populi. Either way it's a decent pun.
  18. He's the very definition of a cult hero. I absolutely love him.
  19. Och honestly I enjoy dogs, but not untrained barking dogs in a fucking office. Being leapt upon by a hyper dug when I've just popped in to write up some notes. Rubbish. One of them is a french bulldog. One is a lab which is great fun, but isn't trained enough not to bark whenever someone comes into the office.
  20. I mostly work in the community by myself (support worker) but I like to go into the office to have feel a wee bit of esprit de corps. The management lassies in the office have saw fit to bring their dogs in. These mutts are not very well trained (I wear a lumie yellow cycling jacket which triggers a fuckton of barking from a spaniel called "bubble") but their owners are the classic modern dog owners who reckon that a'body else should bear the brunt of their dog's behaviour. Frankly if you have a full time job you shouldn't have a dog. Or if you do and simply have to bring it in to work, then train it so that it doesn't bark at folk. Absolute madness. There have been as many as 4 dogs in the office. Wild.
  21. Thanks for being open about how you feel mate. I imagine that you've voiced the feelings of others as well. Keep an eye on the thread, and once you feel safe enough to contribute then you can do so. How you do it is up to you. It doesn't need to be "the whole story" whatever that means to you. You don't have to tell us anything about your struggle to lose weight. Perhaps the value you can bring to the thread in the meantime is being another encouraging voice. Distribute greenies, fiercely deflect the negative self-talk of others, be encouraging.
  22. I got a set of scales that gives me my body fat percentage too, which is better than just weight. I've just decided to make it a more long term thing. I want to get down to 80kg (from 91.7) and have given myself a year to do it. 250g of weight lost per week gives me some wiggle (jiggle) room. I'd tried more short term weight loss but my bad habits would kick in and I'd just set myself up for failure. Intermittent fasting is great. Not eating after 7pm gives me some dietary leeway. Making movement a part of my day (walking or cycling instead of motorised transport). Be kind to yourself AM. For a lot of us eating is part of a self soothing emotional survival apparatus that serves a critical purpose. It stops us feeling the feelings we don't want to feel. These feelings often live in the gut. Good thread idea. So aye, let's keep it supportive and positive. Everybody is at different stages of their understanding and physical progress too, so whatever weight you are and want to lose, go for it. @BFTD has to change his username if he comes anywhere near here though .
