  1. Glad you got something. Saves a lot of hassle, especially if you have a serial round dodger in tour group.
  2. I use tricount for splitting up bills. Seems to work for me. https://tricount.com/en/
  3. When I travel (visited 55 countries) I have my fees free bank card but also have some cash in local currency on me just in case. But I always pay in local currency when I can whether that is card or cash. If some are happy just taking cash then worth shopping around for best rates and not leaving it to last minute, as it can save you a pretty penny. Maybe you can load money on to you credit card and offset most of the bill so it is smaller/non existent when back. Any excess money you can spend as normal here. Look at money saving expert about best cards, cash and speding aboroad. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/destinations/ I think the other thing about Germany is a lot of shops used to be closed on Sundays but not sure if that is still the case.
  4. Two of us going over but have no tickets. Awaiting on portal reopening like so many others. We fly in to Stuttgart the night before the Germany game. Staying in hotel near Stuttgart Airport and will be based in Stuttgart the two weeks. Going to get an early morning train from Stuttgart to Munich. Got an Airbnb for the night of the game. On way back to Stuttgart, plan to take train to Lichtenstein, stop for a few hours then carry on to Zurich in Switzerland for a night. Then train back to Stuttgart next day. For game in Cologne it will be a train from Stuttgart and back the following day as got an Airbnb. All I have to do is plan the trains. Don't know where to begin! Never heard of flixtrain but if like flixbus which I have used in Germany and other countries I would assume it would be OK.
  5. Then came liquidation and United fans singing "You no Rangers any more". It also spawned the Cranberies song "Zombie" into Scottish football.
  6. Imagine what they would say about it if Liverpool got a winner without a shot on target. They would say it tells of the magic of premiership football and why it is the world's best.
  7. I saw that too. Kept pointing to imaginary watch and shouting at the ref about time. Funny that Liverpool equalise in time added on.
  8. Currently in Poland getting rehab. Booked Peru for May on 29th Dec and had a stroke two days later so cannot see that happening As long travelling days and at altitude. Already had two weeks in Germany booked for the Euros and after game in Munich I was to travel to Stuttgart via Lichtenstein and Swtzerland. Hope to make that As for the rest, it will probably be countries in Europe I have never been to.
  9. I was in India once where the tour took you for lunch to a cafe that was run by women all of whom suffered acid attacks by men. Nobody else would employ them and tourists were a way for them to make money. We were offered not to go as not a gawking ceremony but those that did so to treat it/them with respect. They would tell you harrowing stories like how they were asleep with the children when it happened. Most of the time it was the husband, sometimes a family member, always by men. Think it was an "honour" thing but some said the husband was just in a bad mood. It allowed the women to work, but just as importantly, tell their story. It is not talked about in India as much, the same with honour killings, and male family members usually get away with it as the shame is put on the women (and children) who suffer from it. Big tip left but little appetite after hearing and seeing stuff like that.
  10. I love travelling but feck eating some of the local delacacies. Mrs SA is currently in Thailand and her brother in law thought he would try these.
  11. I am up for that. Who wants to be the victim?
  12. Cheers mate. In a Polish rehab and paying for it but UK Gp says it is a no brainer. Gonna have to cancel Peru as if is 15hrs to get there and 22 back and I will not be up for long travelling and altitude by then. Germany is my main focus after getting better.
  13. I will keep checking. Currently looking into travelling back from Munich via Lichtenstein and Swtzerland to enjoy some views for a day or so then back to Stuttgart where we are based as they are countries I have never been to. I was unlucky in first daft, then got Covid in December then had a stroke on 1st Jan now this. Adding to that I booked Peru in May two days before I had my stroke and I am in rehab in Poland I will not be crossing my fingers lol Lucky white, anybody?
  14. Zilch between 18 applications. Same as before. I am booked to go so good luck to those that got lucky either in the portal or with SFA.
  15. I had a stroke (Insert Kenneth Williams pic) on 31st Dec so I am out. I can hold someone's jacket if they want to fight.

    Cologne

Plan to go to Cologne without tix but I have had a wee peek at TripAdvisor and Cologne city website, plenty to do. Gonna be based in stuttgart so might take train to Switzerland ironically as it is a country I have never visited.
  17. We had form? We were winning, but a lot was not easy on the eye and like any club, forums know better so fans knew we would come a cropper
  18. In Poland just now visiting Mrs SA,s family. Her sister overheard her nephew (aged 9 and a nice, bright kid) saying derogatory things about Ukrainians living in Poland to his pal. Stuff like not wanting to fight for their country, lazy, just want a house and money but not willing to work. Apparently he had picked all this up from a classmate. Fortunately Mrs SA's family are nice and were having none of this. Rather than shouting at him and in all likliehood failing to deliver the intended message, they sat him down and explained how talk like that could lead to much worse. They even used some of Mrs SA's experiences when she first came to the UK 15yrs ago to give him some personal context as to how words can hurt. Then his father sat with him and watched a documentary about Auschwitz that is aimed to educate children. It ended with both father and son hugging each other with tear-filled eyes. On one hand it might seem a bit like overkill to make him watch a documentary, but it certainly appears to have got the message home. School were also informed, but they did not name the child who allegedly said it so as not to have him singled out, but school are going going to be tackling the issue of hate speak when school resumes.
  19. There are loads of fun posters on here and others who are always happy to help out with the odd query. Happy to give @welshbairn a wee shout out on that score.
  20. I'll second that (including the Derry C**t part). Cheers to the many that worked today and who allowed others to enjoy it with loved ones. Arabest!
  21. Sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully things improve.
