  1. Its now dropped to 12 points and the final member of our group who wants to go has his tickets.
  2. That's something the club should look at, as I dont think there is anything that notes that was a former football ground at that site.
  3. About 100m away across the road
  4. Oh he seems alright and talks very loudly about everything I was recently at a Scone Thistle away game and he was ahead of me in the pie queue talking at the top of his voice so everyone could here "No, i cannot make Friday as im playing golf with Callum Davidson" Everyone in the Midland league was surprised he'd got the Saints gig so the results do not surprise me in any way.
  5. The tickets should go on sale for the teams who have qualified in December or early January, no need to wait until the spring and it lets people plan properly. It would only be if we end up in the play off route that the tickets would go on sale in the spring as they hold back tickets for those teams as they did for us in 2021.
  6. There will also be those with higher points who will just not go due to personal circumstances. One of our group has 15 points just now, has just bought his first house so turned down the chance to join us for any of the upcoming away games and has indicated that Germany is not in his plans right now.
  7. People who want to go are making sure they have the points In our group we have one who is on 12 just now, who was studying overseas for a few years and only got a membership at Christmas 21, hes got flights to all 3 upcoming away games and with 1 home to go hopes to get to 19 points by the end of the year, another who has had a membership for a few years but tends to only do 1 away every couple of years is on 13, he cannot do Spain but has booked flights for France and Georgia to get to 17 by the year end when we expect the tickets to go on sale. With not many getting points in Faroe islands or Moldova (despite the number who went) id expect to see a lot more members in the 14 to 18 point bracket than there was in the delayed Euros.
  8. I did wonder that but back when Off the Ball started in August 94 the Highland duo were just starting out in division 3 and i doubt if Cosgrove or Cowan have ever been to Dingwall.
  9. its not according to Google maps Perth train station to McDiarmid 2.4 miles or 54 minutes walk (personally i find the walk times add on about 25% of time) Cowdebeath station to New Central Park 2.8 miles or 1 hour and 2 minutes walk.
  10. An absolute goal fest to start the competition Paraguay 0-0 Peru Columbia 1-0 Venezuela Argentina 1-0 Ecuador
  11. i often thought there should be 4 zones from Qualification, all with similar number of teams Europe, Africa, The Americas and Asia including Oceania
  12. Even with the 3 point deduction with 6 direct places and 1 in a play off its harder not to qualify than qualify from South America. It does seem mad to play 90 games over 2 years and 2 months and eliminate only 3 teams.
  13. To save others searching Castillo might have been born in 1995 in Columbia or 1998 in Ecuador. FIFA sided with the later but in a case taken to the court of arbitration for sport they say teh 1995 date and location is correct , however he is free to play for Ecuador as he is an Ecuadorian citizen entitled to play for Ecuador even although it looks like his family illegally entered the country. FIFA then issued a fine and points deduction as at some point the FEF knew the truth but went along with the false birth certificate. Maybe that's how the Saudi team in the youth world cup final against Scotland did it.
  14. For the use of a fake birth certificate for Byron Castillo in the last set of qualifiers
  15. The qualification games starts tonight with games in South America Ecuador start with a 3 point deduction.
  16. Ive never been at a game where the grass was that long. As others have said how they have a licence is a mystery , there were open gates outside the ground before kick off, the police only arrived after things started to get a bit wild in the last 10 minutes Credit to both sets of fans who made a fair noise all night.
  17. Not a chance, The top 2 should qualify and Molde should get 4 points from Hacken
  18. im going to try and do a Scottish cup ground hop tomorrow with a Premiership game in between Start at Jeanfield, then up to McDiarmid followed by Fort William. The changes in kick offs certainly worked in my favor.
  19. Kinnoull have long term plans for Tulloch park and the club and Luncarty is basic, They will both do well to survive in the East Premier this season but where they are suits both and they may yo yo between the Premier and first for a number of season.
  20. They probably would but the draw of players would be a lot less. Asking someone to come and train in Perth and play most of the games in the central belt as it is just now is going to be a lot more appealing than "every second week we go up the A9 for at least 2 hours etc" TBH i think Jeanfield will be happy at the top end of the East of Scotland and playing in the Scottish, a step up in either direction could do more harm than good.
  21. Thats exactly what the top leagues would want and may be the way it goes But who is going to fund the competition, who would cover it on TV? There is already a bit of a chance in this years Conference league as one of the big 5's teams are already out The ideal situation would be for the top 5 not to have any teams in the Conference league and we would get a different winner each season.
  22. What an utterly bizarre post which is not joined up in any way Why would moving the league to a "Summer" league make any difference to this, you state the Republic of Ireland as an example, that will be the Republic of Ireland who had 0 teams playing in the play off round and lost 8 of the 16 games their sides played in Europe this season and who sit 40th out of 54 for this season and will drop further as there are nations with less points who have up to 3 teams in the group stages. Sky will not suddenly pay 3 or 4 times as much as for 2 months there is no other football to show and every 2nd year that time period would be cut to 1 month due to the world cup or the Euros A 16 or 18 team top league would make things worse, smaller visiting supports and less top head to head games . There is a reason most smaller nations have leagues our size. The old firm are never going to agree to any end of season play offs and 4 relegated out of the bottom 8 is never going to be voted in and that's before you work out how many games you want the teams to play to get to this. There are 54 current active members of UEFA playing for 96 places in the group stage, in the days before the Champions league there would have been 128 teams still in Europe at this stage and no nation would have had up to 8 entrants as it stands this season. In context there is less than 2 places per league in the group stages and with direct entry given to so many from the top leagues everyone else is playing to get through the eye of a needle. 35% of the nations are already all out and a further 25% are down to their last team. Only 5 leagues have all their entrants in the groups so those who expect every team to make the groups are living on another planet.
  23. I had a look as to where the Europa league final is being played this season its a long shot but at least if they made it the fans should not get so warm they need to use the toilets to drink from.
  24. 2 leagues of 10 would play 36 games , one league of 20 plays 38 games Even with 2 less games i would say its sensible to use those 5 midweeks.
