  1. I just looked this up, as I couldn't remember him being sent off before Saturday. According to Soccer base, he's been sent off twice, on Saturday there and in 2018/19, also against St Johnstone.
  2. Anyone that thought they were getting £3m up front for McCann is deluded. There might be a decent sell on (there certainly should be), which is how clubs like ourselves and St Johnstone will operate. I'm also not convinced the two cup wins would have added that much to any St Johnstone player's value for teams in England. They'll look at what a player has done over a period of time and make a judgment. Hence why Edouard still went for a good fee despite being pretty poor recently. As for our window, most people were content to get a lot of business done early, we signed some reasonable players with experience of this division. I wonder if we'd brought in Power, Main, Tanser and Kiltie at 11pm last night - rather than a month ago - if everyone would've been happy and excited. I agree that there are areas where we are lacking and I'm still to be convinced of 3-5-2, but I don't think we're anywhere near panic stations.
  3. If you're unhappy about our transfer window and want cheering up, head over to the St Johnstone thread.
  4. I thought Dunne was decent today. Admittedly he wasn't up against much in Hendry and May but defensively he was sound. His passing isn't great though, I agree.
  5. Our discipline is terrible. Tired and lazy from Erhahon, getting caught in possession and making a stupid foul. No complaints with the red card. We should've been ahead in the game, then end up finishing by hanging on for a point. Why does Middleton not start more for St Johnstone? Always seems to make a difference when he comes on. We don't have anyone who can come on and change a game.
  6. Calum Hendry could've had that already when he caught Dunne with an elbow. The ref must've completely missed it to not even book him. Been a reasonable game so far. We've had the better chances and should be in the lead. Some save from Clarke at the death.
  7. Knicker wetter are out early this year. There were folk calling for Goodwin's head last season after a poor run. Today was a tough watch, but we're the second team Celtic have hit for 6. I imagine we won't be the last team to get a doing at Parkhead this year either. I'm not convinced of 3 at the back and I worry about the lack of pace in our team but it's certainly not time to panic yet.
  8. Well, thankfully that's over. It was always going to be tough today but Alnwick flogging two goals, Power stupidly getting sent off and you're right up against it. On another day Power might have got away with a yellow but if you dive in then you're taking a risk. Such a needless challenge to make too. I've not been overly impressed with Power so far, I'd sooner have Flynn or Macpherson playing. I actually think there were a couple of positives too. With 10 men we created a couple of decent chances and had a perfectly good goal chalked off. Of course, immediately after Main's goal was ruled out Celtic score the third. Not that it would've made any difference to the outcome, only the scoreline.
  9. I'm pretty worried about next week. Hearts improved when Ginelly came on and they had pace running at Celtic. I struggle to see who can do that for us. Celtic are poor at the back as well, we have players that could cause them some problems but it means we need to get the ball into them.
  10. I didn't to be fair. It wasn't particularly a criticism of Hearts fans, more just an observation.
  11. Yet plenty of Hearts fans would've had him binned last season.
  12. Behave. He's probably in the top 3 or 4 centre halves, hopefully for him (and the national team) he keeps improving. But he's not the best player in the league.
  13. To be honest I think that's probably a fair result. We had all the pressure in the second half but we asked so few questions of Hearts. Hearts were content to sit in and hit on the break and we had no answers. For all our pressure we had two shots straight down Gordon's throat before the goal. If McGrath goes we could struggle as he's the only player with a bit of guile we've got. I'm also not convinced with this formation.
  14. I was about to say that we need to get 'cuter'.
  15. Need to see that again but it looks a ridiculous red card. Haring obstructs Dennis, looks like Dennis lifts his arm but is it an elbow?? Kiltie went for a header in the first half (on Haring I think) with a raised arm and didn't even get booked.
  16. Hearts are probably worth their lead. We've come more and more into the game, no surprises that it coincided with McGrath getting on the ball. We've not created anything clear cut which is disappointing.
  17. It was soft but it was nowhere near the softest foul in the game. The ref gave soft fouls throughout. Cummings took a shite touch then put in a clumsy challenge. Henderson was happy to go down but it's probably still a foul.
  18. I thought that. Henderson was the right man to take off as he wasn't making enough of an impact. Had McAllister been on the bench I think it'd been him to come on.
  19. The red card changed the momentum in the game as Dundee were in the ascendancy. After that it was all St Mirren. Thought we had the better chances throughout the game and should've won, we really need to be more clinical. The penalty was a bit soft but the ref gave soft fouls all day. The penalty wasn't even close to being the softest foul in the game.
  20. The ref is having a shocker. Adam's booking was laughable. So many soft fouls given as well. Dundee deserved their equaliser but I feel they've only really threatened from set pieces. Dunne should clear his lines but trips over the ball giving away a needless corner. 48 corners later we concede. Shame for Danny Mullen, hope he's OK.
  21. That'll be a good move for him provided he gets a run of games. They've got McKay, Duku, Sutherland and another couple of boys who can play up front. Edited to include: working with Billy Dodds could be good for a young striker's development.
  22. Fair enough and Brighton were a Premier League team too. I'm not saying that Erhahon should go for more than Dreyer, just that if teams from other smaller countries can hold out for decent cash then we shouldn't be in a rush to sell our most promising stars for peanuts.
