  1. I believe I read somewhere that Mortimer has left the club so all a bit academic.
  2. Or you could recognise that I was aware of that and simply chose to use the same expression for ease of making a point! Perhaps you overlooked that possibility!
  3. Seen quite a bit of Pollok and agree about Wharton but disagree about Gallagher...he is robust and apart from his heading which has defo improved his all round game has gone backwards due to lack of technical ability needed in the Junior game. Believe it or not Paul started out as a winger before moving back to full back and now centre back due to his stature. He has too much ability IMO to be used as a battering ram...such a waste.
  4. Been a long time since u had a flying start to a league campaign...must be long overdue or maybe just wearily recognise that this is your level.
  5. Such a big club that they are 3rd in line behind the Colts and a Rugby outfit for playing time at Broadwood! Of course your comment was more than likely made with a strong hint of sarcasm?!
  6. Some decent business done early doors by the Glens...haven’t seen young Harry Mitchell for a few seasons but he certainly was quite a prospect!
  7. IMO club is well rid of a destructive and tormented individual...always had ability but his inflated opinion of himself has been his nemesis.
  8. About time Clyde mounted a challenge to get out of League 2...been in the doldrums for ages and only time will tell if it’s another false dawn or genuine contenders?! Personally, think they would have been much better off if the EK Clyde proposal had come off..own ground, infrastructure and a more certain future...still lots needing sorted at the club such a pity for an old established outfit.
  9. Probably Clyde, there the preferred destination for players with convictions?!
  10. Agree, think he will be a useful signing and at last there are some positive signs...unsure about persisting within the Junior market as IMO that grade of football is in transition and is full of overpaid and overrated players. Think the Lowland League would be a good scouting market especially within the top half dozen clubs?!
  11. only another dozen or so needed and I may feel optimistic for the QP
  12. assume preseason training will start back some time next week?...think most clubs return w/c 18th...seen quite a few of last years team getting signed elsewhere so will be interesting to see who has been retained and who Gus and his scouts have unearthed?
  13. Be really interesting to see how Kelty adapt to LL football...expect them to be in the top half but don't expect them to challenge for the league in their first year...just have to wait and see but regardless a very welcome addition..all the best lads!
  14. EK v Boness...nice wee draw early on and sure both teams will want to lay down a marker!
  15. Seen Cumbernauld Colts have preseason friendly v QP...any other known games as like to attend especially if against other LL or Junior teams?
  16. Yes,best of luck to Drew and definitely a player who’s on the up from the performances I’ve seen over the last few years...just hope who ever the new Mgr is ,is also a fan ,as can be risky signing without Mgrs endorsement.
  17. He may be talented but the lack of grey matter between his lugs has and will always hold him back. To say that the current coaching team is poor in comparison to MLs gang says it all.Despite not winning the league this season I’ve seen more creative football played than that aggressive win at all costs nonsense served up by the previous coaching team...was like gang warfare played out on the pitch with a hysterical mad man on the touch line..all about opinions! Wish Adam all the best for the future but seriously think he will struggle to be accommodated at a higher level without changing his persona..not a great role model for aspiring young talent...why would any club take the risk with someone so volatile.
  18. Kilby deserve great credit for becoming one of the top teams in Lowland league over such a short period of time...plenty trophies in the the cabinet to endorse their consistency of performances. Just fell short this year which must be hugely disappointing especially with Spartans struggling to overcome teams within the top 4...Kilby maybe suffered a bit of a hangover from the previous years failure to get promoted and just dropped a few extra points this year. With the league getting stronger each year and the possibility of the Junior ranks joining the pyramid in the not too distant future, its going to take an exceptional team to progress ,and hopefully, the SPFL can see some sense in introducing an automatic relegation from SPFL 2 ,as it seems ridiculous, that LL winners need to play winners of HL before winners of this then play bottom team in league 2.
  19. What a fantastic run of form by ES...anyone know if this was down to change of tactics, formation, personnel or just improved form?..Mgr must have been under pressure after such a poor start to season but all credit to him and the team for turning things around so emphatically!
  20. Was all about getting the 3 points, nothing else mattered...well done Kilby. Cant see Gretna getting the better of Spartans as suffered a heavy defeat last week to the Colts..still think league will be decided on last game of the season!
  21. Yokers warm up friendly v Cumbernauld Colts last Saturday should give them a wake-up call...I believe they got humped 6-1 albeit CCs do play at several levels above Yoker. Wishaw have a real opportunity if that was a typical Yoker performance.
  22. Yeah, did well against 10 men in 2nd half but didn’t look great in first 45 mins. IMO will need to play better over 90 mins and hopefully don’t read too much into the weekends result. Got a huge slice of luck with the CCs sending off and only then did they seem to believe they could win.
  23. Shame the game was spoiled as a contest when referee sent off CCs player just after half-time...straight red card for two players colliding in an attempt to get the ball...ludicrous decision! First half was very even and the sending off was a complete game changer...EKFC comfortable victory in the end but who knows what the outcome would have been. Hope CCs can successfully appeal that awful decision.
  24. Never easy against CCs but their form has dipped since beating and drawing against BSC in back to back league games...
