All things Dundee FC

Well done on the Top 6, thought it was a wee bit tinpot putting it in the corner at the end. We were dreadful and you should've been pushing on to close in on St Mirren and Killie. -

Murray McCulloch (I think) and Kevin Souter. Souter was from Portsoy, I played golf with him a few times when he was a junior member at Cullen (same age as me). -
Chasing VAR out of Scotland
10menwent2mow replied to HibsFan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Looking at the image the SFA have released, those lines are very confusing. Presuming that the Blue line is the Livingston defender and the offside is given against MacDonald (27). According to that blue line, MacDonald's right foot is slightly ahead of Ester Sokler's (19) right foot. Sokler is standing with his legs spread (Kenneth Gif) and Sokler's left foot is just the other side of the Red line which is apparently in line with MacDonald's shoulder. Now, Macdonald must have been leaning at some angle to only be marginally ahead of Sokler's right foot, yet his shoulder is in line with with where Sokler's left foot is. I hasten to add that this still is the only thing I've seen about the decision, I've not seen a replay in real time to see if MacDonald was indeed leaning at a ridiculous angle. -

I suppose with the postponement of Dundee v 'Rangers' this evening (no giggling at the back please), we can move on to the weekend. Hearts will face Albert Kidd day if they fail to beat Livingston. Victory at Tynecastle will not be enough if Celtic beat St Mirren or 'Rangers' beat Ross County. A victory would still mean a chance of a Top 2 finish for the Jambos. They can also seal a Top 4 finish by matching St Mirrens result, this would mean St Mirren being unable to finish higher than 4th. Dundee can clinch Top 6 football, with a win at Pittodrie, a point would be enough when coupled with anything other than a Hibs win over Motherwell. A point for Hibs against Motherwell would keep Top 6 ambitions going if Dundee lose at Pittodrie. A win for Hibs will keep them in the hunt as long as Dundee don't win in the Granite City Motherwell will avoid 12th place with a point, or if Livi fail to beat Hearts, they must beat Hibs and hope Dundee lose at Pittodrie to keep Top 6 hopes alive. Aberdeen will avoid 12th if they match Livi's result. St Johnstone can also ensure they avoid the automatic relegation spot if they beat Killie and Livinsgton lose at Hearts. All that means that Livingston could be consigned to the bottom 2 by the end of the weekend. -
Brother Beaton v Celtic: Apr 7th - 12:00

I'm not entirely comfortable with this concept of a defender winning the ball and it still being a foul because the attacker could retain possession. How many times do we see a striker nick in ahead of a defender or goalkeeper and get caught with no chance of them retrieving the ball after the touch, yet penalties are awarded for that. Going by the pen yesterday, Johnson would've had to play the ball, then get out of the way. If Silva had nutmegged him and then ran into him, does anyone think it wouldve been a pen? -

1 set of games at a time folks. Highlights of the weekend. Hearts title dream still alive St Mirren clinch Top 6 Hibs are safe from the automatic drop Aberdeen will finish bottom half Livi can finish no higher than 9th (due to being able to catch Motherwell would mean Motherwell losing every game, including to Aberdeen which would give the Dons 37pts) On to midweek where there is only 1 fixture. It will be Albert Kidd day for Hearts again at Dens Park if 'Rangers' beat Dundee. Hearts would be able to match 'Rangers' 77pts but that would involve Celtic winning the last Glasgow Derby pushing them to 78. Dundee will complete the Top 6 with a win while Motherwell will be condemned to the bottom half if Dundee get a point. -

I just read that article and thought the same thing. How dare we not supply arms to a genocidal regime. f**k, we could've given the nazis a shit load of weapons in WW1 and 2 and saved a lot of hassle. -

Big weekend incoming. Hearts will suffer another Albert Kidd day if they fail to beat St Mirren on Saturday. Even a win would require a draw in the Glasgow Derby on Sunday. St Mirren will be able to book the open top bus for the Top 6 parade if they beat Hearts or Hibs fail to beat St Johnstone. Dundee will clinch Top 6 if they beat Motherwell and Hibs lose to St Johnstone, a scenario which would confine Hibs to the bottom half. Hibs can avoid the automatic drop with a point or if Livi fail to beat Aberdeen. Motherwell must beat Dundee and hope Hibs don't beat St Johnstone to keep Top 6 hopes alive. The steelmen will also avoid the automatic drop with a win and a Livi defeat. Same goes for Aberdeen who must beat Livi and hope Motherwell beat Dundee and Hibs don't beat St Johnstone. A Dons win would mean they would avoid 12th. Livi could find themselves condemned to the bottom 3 if they lose to Aberdeen and Motherwell beat Dundee. However they could still finish as high as 7th if they beat Aberdeen, Hibs lose to St J and Motherwell lose to Dundee -

Premiership Hot Potato 23/24
10menwent2mow replied to 10menwent2mow's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Aye the chances of the Tattie landing in the Top 6 look slim. Best case scenario for it happening is probably Motherwell drawing with Dundee, Hibs beating St J, Dundee losing their last 2 and Motherwell giving it to Top 6 Hibs last pre split fixture. If Motherwell beat Dundee then Dundee will have to beat 'Rangers' and then 'Rangers' fail to beat County for it to remain Top 6. I think those are the only two scenarios that will see the tattie usurp the battle for the title and European slots as the focus of Top 6 football. -

Nae being funny, but that's kinda the whole point of this thread. As it is Hibs are not safe from bottom. Motherwell could overtake them before the split. Aberdeen could lose to Livi and beat Dundee pre split, meaning they only had to beat Hibs post split to finish above them. St J could be on 34 pre split, beat Hibs post split and then pick up wins against Motherwell or Aberdeen and finish above them. County similar, could be on 33 pre split then beat Hibs for 36 and pick up one more win against anyone else to be ahead of Hibs. Livi obviously need to win all and Hibs lose all 7. So Hibs not safe from 12th yet -
Dissertation Surveys

Both my dissertations were absolutely hopeless. I'd figured out that I was going to get a Desmond for my first degree unless I wrote an absolutely stunning dissertation and second time round I was guaranteed a 2:1 as long as I passed and again would've needed a stunning mark to get a 1st. -

Was down at Motherwell vs Aberdeen a couple of weekends ago and had booked megabus down to Glasgow and the train home (less than £15 each way). Was sat having a coffee in Union Sq before the bus and thought I'd jump on to the Scotrail website to see what a walk up single would've cost me to get to Glasgow. £48.90. Not much wonder no c**t gets the train.
