    Currently reading "All the Way to Bantry Bay" by Benedict Kiely. It's about a meander by the author and some pals from the North-East of Ireland to the South-West of the island. Written in 1978 he reflects on the history of the island as he journeys at a leisurely pace. I've started and put down/ restarted this several times, but making a concerted effort again, and am enjoying it.

    Fair play to them if they have, but I've not seen any evidence of Montrose players coming through the ranks.

    I'm quite excited about the season ahead. But, and I cannot stress this enough, we need to keep investing in the youth system. Arbroath and Montrose have done well in recent seasons but they have no youth system in place. They will be back down the divisions before too long. Keep bringing the kids through.

    Falkirk should win this group at a canter. What with Dundee United being shite, and Partick and Spartans both being up their own arse. Could be a repeat of the 1947-48 final.

    East Fife really need to be winning games like these if we want to progress. The best part was Trouts stepping up to inevitably send the QP goalie the wrong way, and the goalie launching the ball into the stand. Will reluctantly accept the two points.

    I always make a point of crossing the road in the middle of an Orange walk. This hasn't happened often as I stay in Dundee, but my boy bides in Glasgow. It was good fun.

    Stick cooked burger with a slice of smoked cheese under grill for a few minutes. Serve on roll with thinly sliced gherkins and mayo/ sriracha relish.
