    A bit dramatic, lol.

I'm not really sure what options Kennie had, the fixtures had to be fitted in somewhere, with SBA having no free midweek dates since the nights became light enough to play without lights, and also two games scheduled between the original end of season date of 11th and the new end of season date of the 18th. They either had to play two midweek games this week or next to get the season finished.

Unfortunately, at all levels of the game, when teams are successful in cup competitions, coupled with a few weather postponements during the season (home or away), a backlog builds up. Remember how it affected Rangers in the build-up to the 2008 UEFA Cup Final in Manchester, and the controversy there was about getting the season finished on time and the request for extensions.

    It's hardly a scandal.

Seems to me that the "we're led by what the clubs want" thing was taken too far in that at the start of the season clubs wanted to protect their Saturday hospitality income rather than have midweek games scheduled. Whereas that is understandable and in principle is giving the clubs their say, the league should have been stronger and insisted on having them played early. Hopefully that will be pointed out to clubs now and fixed for next season. After all, from the outside this fixture pile up is a reflection on the league, not the clubs.

I say it's a scandal because young men are being asked to work all day then leave their young families three or four times a week to play these matches. There's also fans being asked to shell out three or four admission fees per week. As a committee member of your club and the league, you're not playing or paying (monetarily anyway) so maybe you don't see it that way.

Shotts suffered because of fixture schedule that is no doubt. Players at this level or any level are not conditioned to a schedule like this.

Can you imagine the top level boys being asked to play this schedule? And they're not doing a full time job every day either. It's a scandal tbh.

but of course you are being disrespectful,  Scottish junior cup finalists and a team who have beat us the last twice we have played them.  Still hopeful though we have a chance to win the league, not getting complacent.

    I'm stating a fact.

What sort of dosh do clubs make on their plazzy pitches after overheads like cleaning, utilities and general maintenance costs?

Would reckon costs are even higher on a hybrid pitch.

I want a decent modern ground with a stand and proper terracing. If it’s plastic or hybrid then would help with the finances going forward

Imagine hoping that for your club.

The fair way would be three up and three down from the lowland into each of the three regional leagues. Don’t know how I feel about the highest placed licensed team as in theory a team could be promoted finishing 7th or 8th. Think it has to be the Champions with an expectation on license for the league at some point (I mean very long term).

In theory schmeory. Don't think it has happened that the second placed team at the end of the league hasn't been licensed and that will more than likely be the case this season too so that's a moot point.

Having said that, your first sentence is the only way it should be with the HL and LL champs going straight in League 2. That's about as much chance of happening as me winning the Predictor League.

Season being extended because Darvel can’t fit in all of their games.

2 legged Junior Cup semi final really helped!

What a shitshow this league is turning into.

Going by website fixtures this still seems to be correct. I was sure the final round of fixtures would be moved. Bad form WoSFL, bad form!

Highest weekly score so far is dagane – 37  (Week 14)

Just when it looked like they were being reeled in @dagane pulled out a 28 pointer to extend the lead at the top of the league. All hail our leader! Not far behind was @Johnstonian with 26 which brought more then just a tag (read on). Third this week was @funky monkey to climb higher up the table. Check your scores please.

On to our cup competition. Result was;-

    Grand Final

    Johnstonian 26 v 5 Broomhill Ultra

Well it wasn't even close as Johnstonian smashed it out the park. The cup has definitely brought out he best in you pal. Hard luck @Broomhill Ultra. You met a man in form.

Cup prize money is £40 to Johnstonian and £20 to Broomhill Ultra. If it's ok with you guys, I'd prefer to wait until the whole competition is settled before asking Div to open the prize fund. If you're really needing it, pm me.

Fixtures for Saturday 4th May are;-

    Clydebank v St. Cadoc's

    Darvel v Irvine Meadow XI

Rutherglen Glencairn v Shotts Bon Accord

Ardrossan Winton Rovers v Caledonian Locomotive

    Ardeer Thistle v Bellshill Athletic

    Royal Albert v Newmains United

It's the penultimate week. Now or never folks. Good luck everyone!

Ordered on your say-so, with a Templeton Rye into the bargain since iv been looking to sample a rye for ages and never got round to it.

Coincidentally I just finished my bottle of Bulleit Rye tonight along with a Wild Turkey 101 and a Tomatin 14 Port Cask. There was only a dram left in each and as I'm moving soon I can't take my collection with me.

A rye whisky is a pleasurable experience although have always meant to try Templeton since it seeing it mentioned in Harry Bosch books but never got round to it. I'll look forward to a review please.

Big win for Girvan wednesday night dragging themselves out the relegation zone. Gow on remarkable run of form, midweekers always throw up a few suprises im sure there will be plenty twists and turns yet. Big game for Bellshill they desperately need to bounce back tomorrow against a good Dalry side.

Aye that's true actually and it happens at all levels. Wonder why that is.

    A couple of points.

    1. Clubs should be told that there is 2 rounds of midweek fixtures to start the season to assist with planning at the end of the season

    2. Why are we playing the WOS Cup final this weekend. You know that you have a date to finish the league so why not wait until after then.

    3. As much as the 2 legged semi finals brought crowds and attention it cannot be allowed to happen again with the impact on the fixtures.

    4. There is also an impact at the bottom with the (unlikely) scenario that Glens might not be completely safe and know what they need to do.

    Great post that.

Superb. Lyrical and poetic and genuinely chilling and haunting. A fantastic translation ad well, which really seemed to capture the spirit.

Do you read more than one book at the same time or did this one take you 10 hours to read?

But is it that obvious ? They're extending the season anyway and the Junior Cup is a big factor anyway.

What is obvious is that it's not a reasonable situation and something will have to change.

You say something often enough snd even I will crack.

The Junior Cup has had too much respect this year in particular the two legged semi but it's not the only factor. There will always be an imparity in league games played at the latter stages of any season. Chelsea are seeing that in the EPL. The argument should not be about cup competitions it should be about scheduling league matches midweek at times when the weather is good. Especially that the league is in the west of Scotland, an area hardly known for it's balmy climate.

The season extension is a necessary evil but the other clubs shouldn't allow Darvel to have matches after everyone is finished. The last day fixtures must be changed en masse. Kennie will do that, you'll see.
