  1. There are tons of rules so it is hard to keep up. The point o the development league is to give the players as close as possible the experience of the first team and thus any opportunity to go into the first team is applauded and enticed,
  2. No there is not - 100% A first team player who is over aged, ( meaning born before 2001 ) can play for the U20s 6 times a season but only in league matches. U20s players can play as many times as the first team managers decides in any league or cup tie
  3. Glenafton are out and Craig McEwan resigned because they are out
  4. Fairweather, does this mean they teams that still participate in the premier league and the other conferences wont be relegated either
  5. I read that earlier and understood it. Id rather see the official statement from the WOSFL before i take it as truth
  6. Penalized can mean many different things. For example, any tema that pulls out have to pay a fine and then to renter they have to pay a bond Have they been told officially that if they pull out they can enter back into the tier they left, (I've not seen anything to the contrary)
  7. so if Pollok and Auchinleck pull out they can renter at tier 6, is that true ?
  8. Here's a thought, smaller in the scheme of things but still an important issue. If the 14 clubs who pull out for this season, does this mean that if they run a development team that the parent development team will have to pull out of the development league. Heard that the dev league was supposed to start on the 6th of November but unsure
  9. I've not see it but hhas any club who say they are withdrawing for this season stated that they are releasing players Each player who signs for these clubs are either on an amateur form for the 20/21 season or a professional form for the 20/21 season. The clubs do not have to release those players unless they cannot keep up with the players contracted payments. I'm sure the clubs who withdraw are allowed to play friendlies and are they allowed to participate in the other cup, ie. SCC. The only way the clubs would release a player was that they felt it would harm their name in some way if they keep the players signed
  10. I cant see any club being penalized for a season out from the league this season from fans. Questions though; What happens to the players who are signed, are they still retained as I suppose its a year contract or would those clubs be duty bound to release them as players didn't sign p to it. The clubs that withdraw for this season, I take it they will go into the fourth division of the WOSFL if there is promotion and relegation through this season and if there is no relegation, promotion, will it go back to another 3 conferences. (suppose both questions can be hypothetical as it depends on the government suspend football again at a later stage Has the SFA or the individual associations made anything public about coming with a plan for all grounds to allow fans in or a certain number of fans Personally I believe there will be an outright winner of the tier 6 division but I cant see there being promotion, relegation from the other divisions, a quagmire to try and work out.
  11. I just cannot see how it will start without fans. Clubs can not continue without fans. The clubs in general are trying to do everything within the restrictions, doing the right things but if one player goes tot eh shops, chats to someone then they can catch it, they go back to training then bang, the whole squad have to self isolate. Most probably it wont even the the clubs fault
  12. Ginaro to be honest that's only a contributing factor. I will say every year league change size, why because there are different amounts of kids playing football in their year, 98s, 99s, 00s, 01s all ages groups The West of Scotland U21s has been deteriorating for a long time before the Lowland development league even came into existence. Also some teams were just too old for U21s so stopped and some like Rutherglen decided to keep their u21s. There were also teams where their full team would normally have moved from U19s to U21s but when the opportunity came up of the U20s league its a no brainer. It really is about development, so whatever is best for our youth should take precedence. There are far greater problems at youth level than the slow demise of the U21 league
  13. Yeah I suppose and expect the WOSFL and Lowland league to a certain extent have been looking into all permutations and they have been coy, quite rightly, about not advertising changes as the government are changing the route map daily so no point in informing everyone only to change again
  14. I suppose most teams in the non league are given a 25 mile radius to play teams within that area but then the problems start for teams in areas which are in lockdown. Right now its about trying to get ready and get by under the constraints in the hope that it will open up, (personally I cant see things opening up if pubs are still allowed to be open). Noticed a few Glasgow teams had to cancel games against teams outwith their area and the same for teams in East dumbartonshire, North lanarkshire etc.. so it will be hard to get it worked but sure everyone is working together to try and come to a solution
  15. I'm not been up to date with the east league last year or how strong each team is this year so I suppose its about opinions The 3 in question are just well known junior teams but I suppose most are in the East league. Their intention is to leave next year but then again, plans are made to be broken but two are enthusiastic about their season to start with but are also looking to moving on to the pyramid. And yeah it was late and 100% my fault and Ive lost in penalties
  16. I suppose out of the 3 that been in the conversations, there's two who want to leave and there's one who think they have no choice but to leave as they think most will go anyways. No matter id rather they join cause they truly want too not feeling forced like what happened to a few of the smaller one sin the west region
  17. lol didn't throw myself in a hissy fit, it was too late and my ole eyes count take anymore even when I was wrong. I just wished it was more cleaner in what you wur saying or intending to say but im sure it was me being too tired and got it wrong, so apologies
  18. pmslllllllllllllllllllllll, I was just about to watch the muppet show there and guess what, something caught my eye lolololololol Guess what Some people don't understand that senior non-league is essentially now "JUNIORS NO MORE" anyway. Highland League - 4 of 17 teams are JUNIORS NO MORE Lowland League - 3 of 17 teams are JUNIORS NO MORE West of Scotland League - 63 of 67 teams JUNIORS NO MORE East of Scotland League - 37 of 48 teams are JUNIORS NO MORE (including 14 of the 18 Tier 6 clubs) Exceptions: areas where junior football didn't take off: South of Scotland League - 0 of 12 teams are JUNIORS NO MORE North Caledonian League - 0 of 12 teams are JUNIORS NO MORE So, of the 149 "senior" non-league clubs (discounting the South of Scotland and North Caledonian), 107 are really JUNIORS NO MORE - that's 72% - with the numbers being almost 9 in 10 in Tiers 6 and 7. Tier 5 has 7 of 34 JUNIORS NO MORE (21%) Tier 6 has 33 of 38 JUNIORS NO MORE (87%) Tier 7 has 67 of 77JUNIORS NO MORE (87%) Fact of the matter, YOU SAID IT, EX-JUNIORS, no wonder they left or do you wonder why they left Think of this when you go to bed, the juniors are finishedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd pmsllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll You need help, serious, seek some council and then come back and act the way you do, as least you would have tired to get help
  19. superb, thanks for that Regarding the Lothians Juniors in the EOS junior league. I know personally from face to face chats with some committee men and coach's that 3 East junior teams are definitely leaving after this season to join the pyramid. One of those teams, to be honest are run by the old guard of junior committee men and I was informed that even they realize that its best to move to the pyramid even though their heart is in the juniors
  20. They will be, but not this season as they cannot be fit in but I suspect there would have been a straight forward league cup and a West Cup
  21. The U20s are not being allowed to play friendlies due to a few things that need addressed. A start date is not one of them The league was expected to start on 9th October as the seniors will be at the 10th of October but at the meeting on the 10th it was advice that the dev league has been put back indefinitely. My advice in regarding the gossip from another club, do not listen to them again.
  22. I suspect the last thing anyone at the Lowland league association think about is the SJC, probably couldn't give a F*&k about it, and I agree now as I have no interest in it and don't blame the Lowland if they did What a lot of people don't get, or just plan ignore is the tier 6 and tier 7 leagues are considered more important than the SJC, the SCC is considered more important than the SJC, so this men's that, the SCC will take precedence over the SJC so I dont think there is much chance of the SJC being completed, why because the SJC is NOT part of the Lowland league Association
  23. I do not understand this thread when people are talking about other countries and their non league national cup. It has no bearing on Scotland, the national people of each country have different views than Scottish nationals and the set up, size of populations that play football are different, even the country which they all reside and play has an effect if a national non league cup goes ahead so all this talk is pointless. Is there a south cup, yeah its the SCC or soccer shop challenge cup and it has 146 teams, (is that right?) and how many from the North could play in an equivalent trophy in the North and how many would want to, that's really the questions. How do I see the SCC, very exciting, far more exciting and harder to win than the SJC in recent years Would I bother with a national non league trophy, yeah but not right now, well for a couple of seasons as I think we all have enough to get on with and contemplate in regards to getting to see if the football we have organized will be able to go ahead.
  24. I agree with everything you said but right now, we are not in a normal season. Covid has instilled itself in everything we do, thus less fans or no fans until its safe to do so, so any point regarding this cup or the league whether positive or negative can't really be justified. Everything is hypothetical in regards to the Cup or league but personally, I think it will grow and entice more people to teams/clubs and I believe the Cup will be a showpice event with every team across central and southern Scotland entered into in who participate in the Pyramid system. Although if there ever was to be a Scottish non league cup, that could take over but not sure how most Northern teams would feel about it, would they enter it
