Lowland League football, what is the future?
San Starko Rover replied to Pyramidic's topic in Lowland League
I notice he also says they're relying on the SJFA to get the WRJFA in the pyramid. Amazes me the patience the West teams have for the SJFA there's glaciers that move faster than the SJFA -
Lowland League football, what is the future?
San Starko Rover replied to Pyramidic's topic in Lowland League
Yup offer to set up a WOS league, no SJFA involvement do the same for North region. Any licence holders wishing to not join lose their licence and Scottish cup access is granted to SJFA and SAFA cup winner only. SJFA and SAFA teams then have a route to join if they wish, the rest can do whatever they like. No need to pander to the SJFA or SAFA. -
Lowland League football, what is the future?
San Starko Rover replied to Pyramidic's topic in Lowland League
Lowland League 2 East and West for me is the way to go and breaks the in-pass between SJFA and SFA allowing West teams a route into the pyramid without forcing teams to join and keeping the SJFA separate. It also moves the SOS down to tier 7 while potentially accepting their better clubs without the SOS losing face. -
Junior football, what is the future?
San Starko Rover replied to Burnie_man's topic in Junior Football
The boundary should definitely not be moved further north as it’s too great an inbalance. Dundee teams should be Highland League feeders and merge with North Caledonian and Northern Junior leagues to form NOS. -
Whitehill welfare 2019/20
San Starko Rover replied to magoo's topic in East of Scotland Football League
Just want to pass on my best wishes to Whitehill, I’ve openly stated Bonnyrigg should have gone up but the SFA made an absolute cluster of everything and Whitehill have been the victims here. From what I’ve seen the club and its supporters have operated with class and dignity throughout the entire period. So I like many want to praise your team and wish well for the upcoming season hopefully there’s lights at your ground soon to enable a return to the Lowland League. Good luck. -

Certainly expect a few more signings so I’ll reserve judgment until the end of the month. -

We needed changes and now we’re going to get them. Only one I’m overly bothered to lose is Kevin Nisbet as it’s difficult to replace that kind of form. However we’ll find out soon if it was a one season wonder or if he can keep doing it. Never like to lose players to the Pars but at the moment it’s better than losing him to Falkirk. Davo I’m not too bothered if he left but if we’re keeping him I hope it’s P/T as he shouldn’t be a starter every week for me. Not sure he’s a bad influence in the dressing room as he’s a local lad and you could see in the playoffs the loss hurt him. I trust John McGlynn to get it right so I’ll reserve judgement until September. -

Brian Graham scored a couple too. -
I think the full and associate membership is actually the right way to go although associate members should still be able to vote on certain aspects of the game and it should be done depending on your league not whether you’ve already got one. Teams tier 5 and up full voting rights, teams tier 6 and below partial voting rights. The 1 member 1 vote seems great on paper but then you’d have a potential scenario where tier 6 could have more voting power than tiers 1-4 combined and the biggest clubs won’t allow that to happen as seen in the SPFLs voting system which favours the Premiership. As long as it’s done right and not used to block new teams moving up the pyramid or entering the Cup then I’ve not got an issue with it.

Pyramid 2019/2020
San Starko Rover replied to Burnie_man's topic in East of Scotland Football League
It’s time we stopped trying to get the SJFA on board in my opinion as that’s what’s causing all the problems with their all in under the SJFA still Junior but in the pyramid nonsense. Announce the formation of a WOS league and invite applications once there’s 10+ teams get it started. Winner gets Scottish cup place. Make the North Caledonian league the feeder to the HL for teams Inverness area and North / West. Winner gets Scottish cup place. Offer to set up a North East feeder to the HL for Aberdeenshire and Tayside teams start it if there’s 10+ teams. Once up and running again winner gets Scottish cup place. Remove Licences from any teams who wish to remain Junior or Amateur and the SJFA regional league winners. The only non senior in the Scottish Cup should be SJFA and SAFA cup winners. SJFA continues to operate as a separate body. Every area will have a league covering them and teams are free to become senior if they wish. It’ll take a few years for team to filter but in my opinion you’ll see what’s happened in the East happen in the West in a fairly short period and any clubs that are determined to stay Junior can do so. SJFA are the issue here and cutting them out the process is the best option. -
New clubs in the East of Scotland
San Starko Rover replied to Moses McNeil's topic in East of Scotland Football League
Bonnyrigg have been unfairly screwed over by the SFAs decision to move the goalpost (a decision that seems 100% deliberate) at the last second so I can’t blame them for feet stamping as any club in their position would do the same. Didn’t Whitehill do a bit of feet stamping themselves to try and get a rule change when the demise of Selkirk meant the LL rules said the 15th place club would be relegated as bottom even if Berwick didn’t come down. The SFA are to blame for this whole mess but the correct out come should be Bonnyrigg promoted and Whitehill relegated. The last second floodlight rule and not giving Bonnyrigg derogation was ridiculous. If the SFA were so adamant about floodlights immediately 3 LL teams should be going down and replaced by teams with floodlights. This whole saga is no more Bonnyrigg’s doing than it is Whitehill’s -
New clubs in the East of Scotland
San Starko Rover replied to Moses McNeil's topic in East of Scotland Football League
Let’s just hope the decision is made soon so both WW and BR know where they are playing next season. I think BR should go up personally as the SFA made a poor decision but WW have been left in a shocking position by all this not knowing if they’re relegated or not. Whatever the final outcome it’s certainly not WWs fault. -
Bo'ness United 2019-2020
San Starko Rover replied to Deanburn Dave's topic in East of Scotland Football League
Sad to hear as they’ll no doubt be local lads with no respect for the time and effort put into running the towns team. Hope they throw the book at the wee fuds if it’s arson. -

Sad sight guys, hopefully the arson rumours are just that. Shocking If someone from Bo’ness has done this deliberately. Just hope the damage isn’t too bad. -
