  1. I was there yesterday, it was crap. It's not just about yesterday's result/ performance it's about a list of results and performances since the start of the season. This is Marvin's squad, he's given some poor players 2 year deals, can we trust him to get it right in this window? Your constant defending of him is admirable, if misguided imo, how bad do we have to be before you open your eyes and see that change needs to be made if we are to reach the promotion play-offs, which I'm fast giving up hope of anyway. Fair do's he's had a lot of player injury problems to deal with but the fact that the majority of these injuries are picked up at training also suggests he's getting that side of things wrong too. I was happy with his appointment, as most fans were imo, but you've sometimes got to hold your hands up and admit it's just not worked out. He may be the nicest man on earth and very eloquent, but unfortunately that counts for zip if he can't get his team to at least compete and try and win games at this level. I don't think Falkirk were at their best yesterday either but that makes it even more galling that we didn't even cause them any problems. Sorry, his times up as far as I'm concerned.
  2. The Falkirk goal really highlighted just one of the things that pisses me off about Queens tactics, and not just in this match. Falkirk kick-off the 2nd half keeping possession, a couple of passes later they're on the attack, and goal. Just about every time Queens kick-off the ball's played backwards, then launched aimlessly up towards the touchline, usually to one of our smaller players, possession is normally lost and we're on the back foot right away. It's like something you'd see on the public parks on a Sunday.
  3. Calling some of the Queens squad "players" is stretching things a bit, we've got a few shirt fillers though.
  4. Maybe Marv should go along to Dobbie's Testimonial and do a bit of scouting, I'm sure some of the players on show could improve our squad even if well past their best.
  5. I must confess I hardly ever listen to the after match interviews but maybe that seems to be the best, or only place, to get updates or information seeing as very little appears regularly on the Official Site.
  6. Keeper Harry Stone's loan extended til end of season which is good but it would be good to get Efe on board again, or at least get an update on the injury situation regarding other players.
  7. Aye, I just looked at the player profile on the OS and it said contract ends January 2024 so wasn't sure what part of the month it meant. Worth an extension if he wants it given our injury problems in that area. Not sure how far away Brydon is from returning but Ambrose would still be decent cover even if all players are ready.
  8. According to QoS website Ambrose contract expires January 2024, not sure that necessarily means the 1st of the month though. If he is away (still possibility of him signing an extension) and our other recognised central defenders don't recover from injury we could be very makeshift back there. We are so short that Josh Todd finished at the back V Annan last week. We really need all our players on top of their game (and a bit of luck and favourable referee) and hope Falkirk are just a bit off if we have any chance of getting something on Saturday. Also depends on what names and formation comes out in Marvin's tombola draw.
  9. A few Falkirk fans on here giving their expert opinion on shite League 1 players, they've certainly gone through enough of those in the past few seasons down in this division to recognise one I suppose.
  10. Is it called the Palace playing fields in Hamilton that they train, not sure if that's anything to do with a College. I think there's a Lloyds gym that they use there too. Could all have changed of course.
  11. I think so unless it's changed recently. Maybe the very odd day at Palmerston.
  12. What is it, 2 days into the transfer window, 8:30 in the morning, admin staff prob on a 1 or 2 day break, hardly surprising there's no news from the Club yet. As usual with Queens I don't expect a lot of early dealing and I don't fancy travelling from Dumfries to Hamilton just to see who's there even though I've got the time. If I was going to watch them training it would be more out of curiosity as to what they actually do there rather than who's there.
  13. Hands up, I'm a pessimistic auld codger. Not much to be upbeat over the past few seasons, or this for that matter. Can we trust Marv to strengthen with the right people? Are our injuries worries easing? It seems that when one or two players are close to returning we lose another one or two. Obviously Marv can't help injuries picked up during games but we must had more injured at training than matches and that's down to him and his staff imo. Hopefully Marv's New Year resolutions are to forget petty squabbles, pick the best players available, stick to a working formation that players understand and stop overthinking things. I really do hope he can bring some sustained positivity for us to enjoy. Happy New Year to all.
  14. 10 minutes a week working on set-ups at throw-ins ( which invariably don't work) is the maximum spent on the tactical side I would say, the rest seems to be just running. I wonder how much time at training is spent with a ball, actually practising simple passes to another player.
  15. The Annan squad has a few "chips on shoulders" ex Queens players desperate to prove the club wrong for letting them go, sadly the only thing proved is it was right to let them go. Can't say I'd take any of that squad to Queens but I'm sure a few Queens players would walk into the Annan team. Actually wouldn't be surprised if Todd eventually ends up there given he lives fairly locally, he's not quite dropped to that level yet though.
  16. I don't think any Queens fan realistically thinks of the team as Galacticos on this season's performsnces Glad you had a good day in all those pubs, probably explains your salty tears post. If the Queens team is full of shrimps what does that make Annan, I've never seen a team whose players hit the deck as easily at the slightest contact, and cry to the ref for opposition players to be booked at every foul. I doubt you were ever a real Queens fan, a fan stays with their team for life, reminiscent of fans defecting to Gretna when they hit the "big leagues". Still probably cheaper for you than travelling to Glasgow to watch your real big team. Get doon.
  17. ^^^^ Salty tears. GIRUY and get doon. Yours sincerely, A sensible Queens fan.
  18. Not a classic by any means, as stated the only high points from a Queens point of view were their goals, especially McGuffie's. Fair play to valliant wee Annan, they really tried but again came up just short. Deserved red card for Goss, thought it could actually have been a straight red, and Gibson W. and Smith proved again to be moaning twats who got exactly what they deserved from the game. A few hairy moments defensively for Queens in that second half but still managed to claim full points (again). 9 from 12, thank-you very much.
  19. No he wasn't. Not sure if he's still suspended, injured or what.
  20. Just can't fathom out some of his decisions, even some substitutions are a mystery. Throw away the coaching manual Marv, just pick the best performing players in their best positions, simples.
  21. Given the penguin references that some Falkirk fans were making about McGlynn earlier this season (probably selective amnesia by some about that now though) he should be right at home on a bit of snow.
  22. Theres no way we'll see Brandon in this game or anytime soon I would hazard a strong guess, Brydon however is hopefully getting closer to returning but probably still a week or two away yet. I think your team there is probably the best if McLelland and Cochrane are unavailable but you can never tell what Marvin's thought process is regarding line ups.
  23. Not checked recently but when I posted earlier there was no supporters info about this game on the OS, or Buy Ticket button on the the "Next Match" notice, might be different now of course.
  24. No cash turnstiles any more, away fans might be pre-purchased e-tickets only or tickets may be available to buy on the day at the Arena ticket desk. Edit: Just had a look on the Queens OS and no buy ticket function available yet and no match info either that I can see.
  25. Surprised McLelland hasn't had more suspensions, he's been lucky a couple of times not to get a second booking in games. He's young and a bit reckless at times but he doesn't hide his passion, he just needs to be a bit more thoughtful and composed if he's already on a booking. Some of the fouls he gives away are just plain stupid.
