  1. Nah, genuine good guy (as you would expect for a P and B member)
  2. One guy posted a few years ago that he had handed in his dissertation. Gave the name of his degree and uni and I realised that he was one of my students. I taught him 2 courses in his final year.
  3. I like the big, thick book about Tony Blair on the shelf. The Truss equivalent will be a pamphlet.
  4. The Principality Stadium have banned choirs from singing Delilah by Tom Jones. Why why why?
  5. My step daughter and her partner moved into a new flat in Dunfermline. I put the address in the sat nav and headed there yesterday (helping to decorate the place). Turns out they're really near EEP. Had to pass the place to get where I was going. Not quite spitting distance. Even with the wind at my back and aiming directly at the place, my phlegm didn't even get past their fence. But really, really close. I pointed this out to the wife who said "well, you can come and watch Falkirk when they come and I'll just stay at the flat" So...when the game eventually gets replayed looks like I'll be there. Result.
  6. 2 more Tom Baker stories done. The Brain of Morbius was very good, very creepy. And it contained a return to my favourite trope of the classic Doctor, the Brain In A Jar. The only downside was the finish. After building up this huge baddie who was a genius, he was killed off by being shoved off a cliff by the sisters. Then The Seeds of Doom. Roycey from Only Fools and Horses as a baddie was very good. Very interesting concept and well executed but the ending was somewhat brutal. A UNIT sergeant was knocked unconscious and fed into a machine that ground him to compost. I can see why some folk might have thought this was too violent. Enjoyed them both.
  7. I was raised to believe that Diamond White was the leg opener.
  8. My wife and daughter both have bad colds. I am fine as is my son, but jeezo they don't half complain. I'm the one getting no sleep here due to their coughing, headaches and feeling sick. Sympathy for me? None.
  9. Now up to 160 quid and passed to a debt collection agency who are threatening to add solicitor fees if I don't pay up soon.
  10. No, he was a troll and a roaster. The board is a far better place without him. Using stuff someone wrote on the depression thread as ammo to have a go at them for instance. Or his utterly disgusting user name. Or a dozen other things. Others have been banned who are more deserving of your salty tears.
  11. The Sontaran one was a bit rubbish. His head deflating at the end was just naff. Finished The Android Invasion last night. A decent idea badly executed for me. Could have been much better than it was.
  12. Siri, show me a heat map of absolute roasters
  13. Wasn't Oaksoft a fan of the emoji also?
  14. My dad served in the police with a guy who has turned into a novelist. He brings my dad copies of his new books when they come out. Dad doesn't want to hurt his feelings, but says the books are dreadful. In one, a car was forced off the road and the occupants all shot in the back of the head. A traffic cop showed up and declared the scene to be "suspicious".
  15. Back to work today in my Duster. No arsehole driving cut me up, tailgated me or anything. Glad to leave the Fiat 500 at home. Much more relaxed. Except of course being undertaken briefly on the M9 by a guy on the hard shoulder.
  16. You get free lunch if you do it though. Might be worth a punt.
  17. Not at all. I'm saving this quote, btw, for the day when I replace my profile pic with one of a blue waffle.
