  1. According to the Guardian, the teams have compromised in 3 sprint races this season. Liberty wanted 6 and wanted to pay the teams £100k per sprint race. Apparently one of the big teams (Merc, Red Bull or Ferrari) said they would agree only if the season budget cap was lifted by $5 million. So 3 is the current compromise with a discussion to be held on the 14th. Personally, I would agree on 0 sprint races as a compromise. The sprint ruined the Brazilian Grand Prix.
  2. I have posted about this on the Raith Rovers thread. We dodged a bullet and many Falkirk fans wrote to the new board expressing their upset when it was rumoured we were in for him. It is horrible what is happening to RR. But on the RR thread there is more than one poster asking the question. The answer is here. Just pointing people towards it so they can see for themselves. Last point - telling a user to pipe down often results in the opposite. Plus it is pish banter.
  3. For those on the Raith Rovers thread asking "was there any outrage when he signed for Clyde?" - page 197 of this thread is where it kicked off. Nothing quite as bad as what we have seen in recent days at Raith Rovers, and a surprising number of "well, it wasn't a criminal court" comments.
  4. This, more than partygate, might be what kills the Tories this year. Huge hike in energy bills, followed by a loan that doesn't even touch the sides and has to be repaid.
  5. Anyone else mask up when at a drive through?
  6. This really hasn't got through to the public yet. The new regs came in in 2014. Mercedes got a march on the rest of the field by the way they placed the compressor and turbo units. And, these regs limited development from the other teams. In short, the advantage Mercedes built in in 2014 remained. During a season, car development was restricted so that the dominant car at race 1 tended to go on and win the championship. Mercedes kept that advantage for a long while (though it has eroded a bit). With this developmental straightjacket, it took 8 years for another team to catch up. Were this 20 years ago, the development race would have erased this massive advantage much earlier. This is why the upcoming testing is so important. If Ferrari, say, show up with a car that is 1.5 seconds a lap faster than anyone else, they will probably be champions this year and next.
  7. The RR statement is something at least. Step 1 in the damage control. But this line: The player is under no obligation to accept a contract termination. He could just ask for his 2.5 years' wages to be paid up. The club could dismiss him, but then they'd be open to a tribunal. Whatever happens, this will cost Raith Rovers money by the barrowload, and reputation by the truckload.
  8. Going back through the Marvel TV universe on Netflix now. Great shows - currently on season 2 of The Punisher. Such a shame Netflix cancelled the lot all at once when Disney+ came along.
  9. Many folk - including on this thread - asked last year how Australia and New Zealand would ever get out of the pandemic. Many others were pointing to their "normal" life whilst we were in lockdown. This has come to pass. NZ still utterly obsessed with "cases". 5 folk catch Omicron and they shut down half the country for weeks on end. the trouble is, they need to shift their perception of the virus and tell people to learn to live with it. That goes against their message for the last 2 years. But the alternative is never ending lockdowns and no travel.
  10. That looks awfy like the current Christmas TV lineup.
  11. Top 5 grossing movies of 1997: 1. Men In Black. 2. The Lost World: Jurassic park. 3. Liar Liar 4. Air Force One 5. Star Wars Episode IV (1997 version) Titanic, released on December 19th, came in at 7th place.
  12. Same in the gym. Infection is only possible between the car park and the door to the gym. Once inside you are safe.
  13. Quick skim through this thread tells me that Rangers could do with bringing on the corpse of Keith Chegwin.
  14. Don't know the ins and outs of who said what, who has really lost it, and don't particularly want to. Mods must have had a day of it today. Sadly the Goodwillie issue is like a dirty nappy piñata - it will keep bursting shite over numerous threads.
  15. Cracking double save. Should never get to that stage though.
  16. Just watching the first bit until the kids tick their movie on. So far, it is Celtic v the Rangers under 12 team.
  17. Ah, I see what you mean. It wasn't the actual solutions I made that were on the site. They claim to have tutors who will write answers for you. This is what was on the site. Good enough for a low D grade.
  18. The episode set during the partition of India is the only good one that series.
  19. Freshly written, and released to the students for 24 hours to download, answer and upload their answers. 24 hours is long enough for these sites to turn around a paper. This is being reduced to 3 hours for the next exam diet so hopefully this is the end of it.
  20. I was surprised as well. Very surprised. They gave me 15 "unlocks" so I can access whatever I like. Used 3 in this case and have 12 left for if this happens again. As an aside, the quality of their answers was appalling. Utterly dreadful.
