  1. He would undoubtedly stroll it were there not major doubts about his ability to stay fit. He strained every sinew to get us through the playoffs and hasn't really been able to contribute since. Definitely worth a crack as a coach/assistant though.
  2. I wouldn't get too upset about that one. Rangers are on good form and though we were dominated, we managed to avoid a thrashing. I agree, the ballboy joining in with their chants is embarrassing. Hope the wee shite is punted immediately.
  3. We were rubbish today. One of our worst performances of the season. Surprised Rangers were only able to put two past us. I will be less than surprised when they fail to win the league again.
  4. Never a penalty. Two weeks in a row we've been the victim of shite refereeing decisions.
  5. One of the worst refereeing displays I've seen for a long time. Aitken pounced upon the Sounda incident because it saved him making a call on the keeper fouling Robinson in the lead up to it. He was inconsistent with his decisions for both sides and had no control over the game. Unacceptable. Not a brilliant game of football but we showed tremendous spirit after going down to 10. Crawford was excellent and deserved his motm award.
  6. That was one of the worst games of football I've seen in a long time. Very short on quality. Accies were compact and hard to break down and we missed Dykes big time. I like Scott Robinson but he's not useful as a lone striker. I think Accies caught us at a good time as the midweek game sucked a lot of the energy and intensity out of our play. They looked like they had a bit more fight about them than we did. It's a crap result but we're better than what we showed today. I fancy the players to bounce back and start picking up points soon. Perhaps not next weekend but thereafter. In the meantime, we need to start looking for another striker. Our attack is completely dependent on Dykes at the moment. And no, recalling Jack Hamilton is not the answer. I would also, as others have said, get Sarkic in goals for the next few games. He impressed against Rangers during the week and Stewart looked ropey today. I'd like to see Savane get a chance as well. Fair play to Accies. You nullified our attack for most of the game and took your chances when they arrived. No complaints about the score and looking forward to the next time we face each other. Hopefully it's a bit more entertaining.
  7. Smart move. Hopefully get a bit of dosh for him if he continues to have a good season.
  8. Agree. He was great in the first half but useless when we were up against it. He is by far our most creative player, so will suit games where we need to attack, but he's not got as much fight as the rest of the team and is not suited to a scrap. He is basically the antithesis of Scot Robinson.
  9. I also reckon whoever finishes in 11th will win the playoffs and stay up.
  10. Very early to say, however I reckon it'll be one of Hamilton, County or St Johnstone.
  11. Bit of a squeaky bum ending but very good result considering the absentees. St Mirren showed a lot of fight at 2-0 down. Looked good coming forward but lacking a goalscorer. I'd back them to stay up this season. Thought we looked more comfortable after Savane replaced McMillan. Think he'll be a quality player for us once he gets used to the Scottish game. Nicky D, Johnny G and Erskine all played well. Dykes looked a bit knackered compared to usual but still very effective. What a start to the season! Get well soon Gaz.
  12. Nice bit of retro patter there....not.
  13. Nice try but I was at the 1-1 game at your place last season and it was one of the most turgid and stuffy matches I watched all season.
  14. Plays better as a CM and is far too talented to play for you.
  15. The problem is that "black b*****d" has a pretty well-established and highly offensive meaning that is shared by the vast majority of the English speaking world. I don't doubt that the original context was what you say it is but with racism being such a big problem in football, you can't blame others for reacting when they hear those words at a football game these days.
  16. No idea, to be honest. There's no way we'll get top six. I think it's far more likely that we'll be battling down the bottom. We've recruited fairly well so far and should have enough to survive but we need to add a goal threat. Halkett, Gallagher, Kelly and Byrne (to a lesser extent) are huge losses but we've retained others who were big performers last season. Looks like Pittman isn't going anywhere and he's a huge player for us. Our being written off at the beginning of last season did indeed highlight a surprising level of ignorance amongst the pundits. But it also helped us massively. We took everyone by surprise and the points we picked up in first half of the season were crucial in helping us stay up. We won't have that element of surprise this time round so it will be a bigger challenge for Holt. I'm excited, but expecting a much more nervous season than last where we were cruising towards the end.
  17. Feel like he's massively overrated by Livi fans because he's a product of our youth system. He was nowhere near premiership level last season. However, that's not to say he doesn't have potential. He has an eye for goal, definitely. The rest of his game is raw. Could really kick on this season alongside dobbie but could equally find himself on the bench for most games. For qots, it's a bit of a punt. For him, it's a brilliant opportunity. Hope he does well for you.
  18. Byrne is too good for the championship. Take care of him.
  19. I honestly think Craig will do really well at Hearts. They tend to build strong, physical teams so it's a good match for his playing style. He'll get regular game time and the chance to prove to even bigger clubs that he's the real deal, which he undoubtedly is. We will miss Halkett a lot but this is a good move at a good time for him. I'm convinced he'll be a Scotland regular before long.
  20. Falkirk, you've been a barrell of laughs this season. Thank you so much and enjoy League One!
