  1. I'd just have a quick word with the owner and be willing to accept the Set Meal for 4 every Saturday in order to buy my silence tbh.
  2. When Weir distanced himself from it in his interview the other day you got the inkling that it was going to be poor, but deary me. Like the rest of our season so far, that is an absolute fucking travesty. A blight on the history of our once proud club, and a red neck that I won't be able to shift for some time. How the f**k are we supposed to face the world tomorrow?.
  3. It absolutely plays a part. Having players with a genuine connection and affinity to the club on the field leading the way helps push others on to give their all. That feeds into the stands and the fans feel a connection with the players. If we were to end up in the play off this time around and with the general apathy a lot of fans are currently expressing, who do the fans really connect with that we can look to for that leadership to galvanise those both on the park and in the stands, who does the club really mean anything to other than collecting a wage?
  4. It really is a very meh and uninspiring group isn't it? Gone are the days of having a few club stalwarts like McCart, Martin, Arnott and co in the 90s, or more recently Craigan, Hammell and Lasley that you built your squad around, and who you'd genuinely be worried about losing/replacing. Just a ragtag bunch of journeymen and jobbers chasing a wage. Other than Miller, Spittal and possibly Casey (if he could get back to his original form), there's absolutely no-one there that you'd be remotely sad to see pack their bags and gtf.
  5. I think it's fair to say that, compared to the ones you would see back in your bongo mag hunting days, most bushes seem to be a lot trimmer nowadays.
  6. Thanks for your reply, lots of good info that will help going forward. My point on mortgage for no gain came purely from a quick search on the Halifax mortgage calculator which gave the option of buying a 2nd home, then when it came to whether it would be buy to let, an info box instructed you to select 'No' if you were planning to let family live in it. I know that's at the most simplistic level of the overall purchase and responsibilities involved, and that taxes etc would be involved, but led me to believe there is a specific mortgage tool for this purpose rather than btl. The fixed rate on what's left of my own mortgage ends in the coming month or so, think I'll set up an appointment with a mortgage adviser in branch and discuss what our options are. Given her low credit rating, perhaps a guarantor or joint mortgage of sorts with my daughter could be an option? A lot to consider. Thanks again for your help.
  7. Looking for some advice on owning a 2nd property and tax implications etc, if anyone on here has any experience. Long story short(ish). Daughter is currently living in a rented flat but the owner lives abroad and the letting agents are cnuts, with a whole host of issues needing resolved that they constantly drag their heels on. Rental prices are getting eye-watering and she/we are loathe to line the pockets of greedy landlords for properties that are nowhere near worth the money. She made some silly financial decisions while a student that makes it difficult for her to get a mortgage just now, but with ours having only a couple of years to run we are considering buying a flat for her in our name, which she can take on once she is able to gain a mortgage in her own right. It wouldn't be buy to let, I know from reading a few articles that you can obtain a 2nd mortgage to allow family etc to live in it for no financial gain, but have no idea about any taxation or other implications involved in owning a 2nd home. Also read recently that some local authorities looking to start applying higher Council Tax on 2nd homes.
  8. If you like annoying, orange bints who wear fingerless gloves constantly and have zero to contribute to the world... Visit Larkhall 2024. Just make that wee tweak and get it pitched to the South Lanarkshire Tourist Board.
  9. Sorry to hear that mate. Hope everything stays amicable for the good of all concerned and to keep things as easy as possible on the kids. If you're having a bad day, just dip your toe in something like the Clyde thread to remember that there are always others worse off than yourself... or alternatively (and 100% more advised), keep popping in here to get things off your chest, as there are always plenty decent cnuts around to offer an ear and advice when you need it. Good wishes, man.
  10. Don't know about psychosexual, but a shot on the flumes is probably the closest anyone could ever come to recreating the real life birthing experience of Katie Price's weans firing out of her overstretched front bottom.
  11. Is this why Jet2 seem to be sticking with that Jess Glynne pish until the earth is no more? Just did a one off deal with her for a single song and simply going to play it for all eternity?. How I've grown to detest that fucking tune.
  12. At least if there's a low turnout at your funeral when you're actually deid you obviously won't know or have to face the embarrassment. Would be a right boot in the stones in your last few days if you arranged a last hurrah and folk preferred to keep their lieu days from work for a football game or to wait in for their annual boiler check instead.
  13. Sounds like he's more ripping the pish than needing one.
  14. With the winter break now upon us and the transfer window open, other than expectantly watching for in's and out's at our respective clubs, there's not much to keep us occupied on the league front. What are everyone's thoughts on their own team and how they've fared so far, and how do you see the second half of the season panning out? What changes do your manager or board need to make to get your club to where they need to be?. Are we going to see a genuine tussle for the title, and does anyone either than the support of those two actually care? Who will claim the remaining Euro spots and top 6 places, and who will prevail in the battle to avoid the drop? Have your own team over or underperformed so far, and what changes, if any, would you like to see?. For Motherwell's first half analysis, I'd say we came into it strongly on the back of Kettlewell's ridiculously successful start in the hotseat, and early signs were very promising. However, the wheels have come off in spectacular fashion and we really are floundering at the bottom. Injuries to a few key players in what is a very trimmed down squad certainly haven't helped, but neither have some frankly bizarre team selections and formations by a manager that many have long since already lost faith in. A really poor first half, and 4 points from 6 in our last two games really could just be papering over some massive cracks. My 2nd half prediction is that we require 3 to 4 new bodies, including at RB/RWB, who'll all need to hit the ground running, and a decent points haul from our first few games back, which are all against teams around us at the bottom. If we could make that happen I'd be delighted to scrape 8th placed obscurity. I think Hearts will finish comfortably 3rd, there will be an interesting fight for the remaining Euro spots, and Livi are toast. It's also looking like a 3 way fight between us, St Johnstone and County to avoid the play off places. Will Levein get it right, or will Uncle Roy get his cheque book out again? What are your thoughts at the midway point and hopes for the 2nd half?.
  15. Inconsistent tilt levels between participants and not a single wee grimace at the taste of whisky. I'm with you. Like the reincarnation of their club, the whole thing here is a fucking sham.
  16. Massive missed opportunity if not. Guarantee literally hundreds of bigoted orc families would have it out, kitted out in their club or masonic regalia to toast whichever leeching monarch is on the throne at the time when the king's/queen's speech comes on the telly every Christmas time.
  17. Boring train fact alert !. Don't know the workings of tube trains, but I'd have assumed they were similar to mainline trains and this definitely shouldn't have been able to happen, but not that I'm doubting it did. Basically, there is a safety mechanism by which an electrical connection is made when all the doors close and interlock. If any door fails to close fully this connection is not made and the driver is prevented from getting power to move the train. The Young Team like to use door blocking regularly to hold the train up and allow their late running mates to get on, or sometimes just use a bottle lid or some such to stop it closing as a jolly jape to make the driver have to leave his cab to remove the obstruction before they can depart the station. Loveable wee rogues that they are!!.

  19. Wonder what type of gun was used. Did they Webley Webley? Would have been a poignant, yet still bloody and brutal end. Missed opportunity if not imo.
  20. Aye, all she's gotten back is whatever it cost to take the policy out, no more than a couple of hundred quid I'd imagine. A hefty old bill to have to foot. Looks like a pretty straightforward term they've failed to notice or consider on this occasion, but like all insurance policies, whether holiday, car, home, etc. they'll all do their utmost to wriggle out of paying out on claims despite charging exorbitant prices to start with.
  21. December, January and February are all utterly shite. Weather is honking, permanently dark and miserable, and Christmas just becomes a more overblown and expensive bag of shite year on year. Forced and uncomfortable social events with cnuts you spend the rest of your time avoiding can gtf as well. September is the top boy for me. Weather can still be decent here, and in the Canaries and Turkey where we tend to holiday, the temperature is at a level more suited to my complexion and tolerance than the height of summer.
  22. Tbh, the Elite Belmont Greenhouse with toughened glazing looks a fucking belter. 8 x 16 tae for under £2.5k. Bargain.
  23. Tbh they probably get together and have a rare old time, just with an agreement in place that no pics or record of events are made so the mouth breathers don't find out. It's really all just about maintaining the duopoly and keeping the rest of us feeding off scraps. The bigotry and hatred are all just part of their disgusting money making machine that keeps all their braindead followers lapping it up and coming back for more and parting their hard earned. A couple of wee malts in a funny cup Peter? Don't mind if I do John, thanks.
