  1. International jobs seem to be reasonably good jobs as well. You can pretty much live where you want, they pay better than teams like St Mirren, you are almost part time, and if you are probably in for 18 months to 2 years even if it's a disaster, so decent job security for a manager these days. Only big downside I suppose is that you are judged on so few games, with limited time to actually work with the team.

Surely it's Alex Neil for Aberdeen anyway? Seems such a glaringly obvious appointment where the timing has never been better. Maybe that's just too sensible for them and they really will spend £2m on O'Neill so they can spend the same sacking him this time next year.

I assume the players get bonuses based on the finishing position in the table.   Either way though, the team is going nowhere.    Should be pushing for four wins.   Lucky to get two.

I wouldn't say they were lucky to get two, that's harsh. They deserved to beat England. The Wales game was weird, but they deserved to win it, everyone got a bit caught up in it at the time, but looking back, the second half was spectacularly badly refereed, and even then they found a way to control the last 10 minutes quite comfortably in the end. They also deserved to beat France, I mean, they basically did beat France in the eyes of everyone except an Irish TMO. Even yesterday, yeah, it was shite, but if they'd won there would have been few complaints.

Don't get me wrong, it's a disappointing campaign, and the inevitable capitulation to Ireland is going to make it worse, but to say we are lucky to even win 2 games isn't fair.

  3. I think that's poor refereeing there that's caused that boy to take a real sore one. He's over the ball, cleanly for a long time, the ref needs to whistle straight away, not stand there watching him get smashed in a vulnerable position by a couple of flying Welsh players who have no chance of affecting the situation in anyway other than to injure someone.

I actually think this referee is pretty good.

Yeah, I mean, he's applying the laws fairly to both teams and calling the game down the middle, so makes him the best if the weekend easily.

  5. France have kind of reverted to stereotype this 6 nations "you never know who will turn up!", etc, etc. Still scoring beautiful tries but looks way more fragile and defence has just gone to pieces.

They are quite like Scotland really.

Having seen his play reel, I was expecting a bit more on the crossing front from Elvis TBH.

He has shown he can put in crosses of decent quality, but too often he turns back when there's an opportunity to get the ball into the box early.

I don't mind Elvis, he gets a lot of stick, but I think he's just a different player to Strain. I think he's more solid and more defensive. Would probably be better as a right back in a flat 4, but he works hard and I don't think he ever really lets us down.

  7. That was really poor, we are in big trouble here, no momentum, a player in a key position having a nightmare in Redpath and a ref that has decided we are the problem.

  8. This is going all Wales away where the ref has decided we are at it so he's going to give everything against us. They need to be smarter and not do things like that because you'll get no leeway.
