Good try from Scotland. Thought we got lucky with a few of the dropped ones that looked to go forward though

Yeah, that looked out to me. Is it too far back to check it?

I know exactly how this will go down, but Robinson wont get a bigger move until he actually achieves something notable.

His best managerial achievement remains the 3rd place finish with Motherwell in the Covid season, or taking them to 2 cup finals in the same season.

For someone approaching 50 and almost 10 years into their coaching career, its not standing out.

Thats not me giving my opinion on his ability blah blah blah, its just that most clubs higher up will be viewing him as a mid-table Scottish Premiership manager.

Totally agree. He's just not sexy enough for a much bigger move, he's not the bright young thing, he's not won anything, he's not been a headline. He's a brilliant St Mirren level manager, but he's a bit like Tommy Wright was for St Johnstone, he's just not on the radar of many much bigger clubs. He's basically the managerial equivalent of Gogic. We love him, and are all worried he will leave, but realistically, the only place he's going is a similar club who are willing to pay him more money.

I'm usually giving a player 12 games as a free hit but after that I want o see some improvement.

Phil Clement was on the radio yesterday saying he has a rule and gives the player a season to settle in.

Maybe I expect too much from a new signing. Typical Hearts fan. What about you?

At St Mirren we give them till about their third touch of the ball.

Not sure the VAR room are in touch with police control rooms !

Ha ha, probably not, but honestly, at the time when it went to Var suddenly an army of stewards appeared to line up along the side of W7 and the Aberdeen end, with the ref giving the pen as soon as they were in position. It's probably just coincidence as they do it most games at the end, but the timing was good for a wee conspiracy theory.

His poor players had to stand in the freezing cold for five minutes 🤣 Although how it took that long to decide whether or not it was in the box is anyone's guess.

An utterly glorious end to the game. Was convinced VAR was going to give the winner offside or find some minor foul, or that we'd then somehow contrive to ship an equaliser. Limbs and scenes at the end with Colin moaning at the ref. Hope he's finding it fun because I certainly am.

My theory is they actually called it straight away (it was very obvious) but they were waiting for the stewards to get in place before awarding it.

  6. Winning goal is so fucking good from Toyosi. It's him that wins the ball in our half to set off the counter attack, burst a gut to get into the box and finished it beautifully. McMenamin and Mandron both brilliant in the build up as well.

Some of the Warnock post game stuff is brilliant. Big fan of him insisting it wasn't a penalty and whining about how cold he was during the check.

    I’m enjoying it.

I’ll admit I’m also enjoying the thought of the journey home for McGrath, Roos, and that other timewasting kunt Gartenmann.

Apologies if my spelling of your player’s names is incorrect, hard to check their names at full time when they were flat on their backs staring at the glorious Paisley skies.

It's always more satisfying when the team left so utterly broken at the end absolutely deserve it. No sympathy, not even a pang, just an absolutely glorious get it up you.

  8. See Hogg is back in the papers today. Sounds like he turned up outside his wife's house steaming after the Calcutta cup game and started shouting the odds. He's such a w**k, I imagine his TV career might not last as long as he expected if he keeps this up.

  9. The South America tour if it goes ahead looks like a good one tbf. I'm expecting a good few of the big names will be given the summer off, especially the ones who play abroad, and it will be a mix of the better youngsters and some of the more fringe players. Got a few guys might be returning from injury as well, like Johnny Gray.

Just finished Guardians of the Galaxy, might go for the platinum trophy as the trophies seem decent enough to go for

Defo enjoyed this one, game was good and they did quite well in making it a single player but in control of the guardians at points in battle with use of button commands, its quite good watching your team go into battle and the AI does it quite well without making them too good that you can sit at the back doing nothing

The chapters/levels have varied levels of exploration, the levels are good looking especially Knowhere, the game does hold your hand a wee bit too much when going through the levels though

Where the game shines the best is the story and the interaction between the guardians, the ones available will ealk through levels with you and there's constant chatter slaggings etc between them, when you leave the path to explore rocket always has something to say about you for example lol. For anyone who has seen the films the game does recreate the aspect of them all thrown together but somehow working very nicely

The story is a new one created for the game, and is good enough to keep you interested all way through

My one gripe is that during battles where theres numerous enemies and obviously all the guardians, it can get a bit confusing where everyone is and whats happening, but certainly isnt game breaking

Edit to add, it has an absolutely banging soundtrack including a made up band called star lord just for the game, the songs chosen for the game are fucking tremendous

I liked this as well, especially agree with you on the strengths of the game and how decent the story is. My big gripe is how the combat really started to drag towards the end. Just wave after wave of the exact same fight over and over again, kind of meant I couldn't wait to get it finished by the end, which is a bit of a shame. Dunno if you thought the same?

I love how these articles always gloss over the fact that England, despite having the biggest player pool of anyone, have been abusing the system since the invention of international rugby

Yes, they genuinely think it's different when they do it.

They also keep going on about how the residency rules need looked at, whilst insinuating it's those that Scotland are "exploiting" but never address the point that the only residency players that regularly play for Scotland are DVM, Schoeman and a nearly retired WP Nel. All big losses, but not insurmountable. It's not as if there is a big raft of recently retired/dropped ones.

The vast majority of our "born or raised abroad" group they like to talk about were born or raised in England, to Scottish parents who were there for work. Funnily enough, a few of England's born abroad guys are the same the other way, born in Scotland. That's the UK in 2024 lads, time to get used to it.
