  1. Some tax changes a couple of years ago actually made the tax rate on some buy to let profits over 100%, by restricting deductions for mortgage interest. So you can only make money out of buy to let now if you have enough money to buy a higher proportion outright. Keeps the plebs out and protects returns for the chaps, what.
  2. "aha..... Hmm..... Yes, yes...." "you're not listening to me are you?" "not really" SLAM! - and peace returns.
  3. Fox News reported that he was a socialist. Logic is different in America
  4. I'm glad Samantha's OK. The guy sounds like a wee bit of a bell end but if every employer followed his lead the world would be a far better place.
  5. Would Brexit have have any effect on an Australian coming to work in the UK ? Finite number of work permits available which are now required by people from 27 of our nearest neighbours.
  6. The Towering Inferno has a brief appearance from old big hands, OJ Simpson
  7. That's got to sting. Humiliated in public, jilted, made to look pathetic, needy and small time. It's a wee shame.
  8. I never buy dessert to eat at home and only have one occasionally when out. So i wouldn't have been in the sweet pie section and it's not on the menu in high class eateries*. *includes Toby, Pizza Hut, kfc against my better judgement.
  9. Thanks for the info. £50 is a bit more than i had in mind (cue Aberdeen fan joke). Will look up burr grinders though because i don't know what they are.
  10. This is literally the first time i've heard of rhubarb pie. It sounds shite. The crumble's ok though. The best sweet pastry is a bakewell tart, also with custard. If i could only ever eat one thing again it would be frangipane.
  11. Surely no one could post the lower one seriously? Looks like a child trying to wind up the Falkirk fans.
  12. About 1/3 of the times. The rest of the time is split evenly between "we could be really good" and "meh". I intend to be at my most positive just before we get punted out of Europe by a half decent but not great team, probably from Belgium this year. I'll have decided that Glass is a clueless diddy just before we knock one of the cheeks out of a cup and go on an unbeaten streak.
  13. To be fair, the tone of what MacCormark was saying implied that we shouldn't be quite as skint as some of the other diddies. "Competetive budget" isn't good headline though. Unless other teams' fans ask in which case we are minted.
  14. We have a WAR CHEST! https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/donsnews/aberdeen-manager-stephen-glass-will-have-war-chest-for-summer-rebuild-confirms-chairman-dave-cormack/
  15. Meanwhile, Mumsnet is discussing Steve Clarke's likely first eleven.
  16. I was tripping in public once and met a couple who used to be in my class at school. They looked evil so i ran off, straight into traffic, which fortunately stopped in just time. It was a bit of a minter come to think of it.
  17. Just got an excited call through to look at all the baby pigeons in the garden. I don't think "fucking moron" was too strong.
  18. Fully expecting that poster that had a recent fiscally responsible nightmare on the PTTGOYN thread to pitch in with his unused toys in their original packaging here.
  19. Two of my team have given their notice in the last month. It's going to leave us ridiculously short over a very busy period and has made a lot of work for me to try and sort it out. I don't blame either of them for a second, it's just what happens.
  20. Oh. I don't really know a lot about Zionism as a philosophy, but that seems a bit extreme.
