  1. Open game so far. I can't take any more. Shitfest 2nd half please
  2. European song just started on red tv We're going to give them a doing, i can feel it. 0-1.
  3. I'm with you here. A system that rewards cynical gaming is far superior to a "meritocracy"
  4. According to Bill Hicks, yes. Apparently he said he got cancer to see if Denis Leary would copy that too.
  5. Despite having just looked through squad lists I'd completely forgotten about Driver and even now have no idea who Ryan Mclaughlin is.
  6. Just had a look through the last 20 years of squads. Nicky weaver in goal. Former England youth, ex man city, couldn't displace clangers. Donervorn Daniels - on loan from west brom apparently. Danny Griffin and Neil Mcfarlane i can remember playing (was it st j & hearts?) but not for us. Paul Marshall.?. Some lad called chidiebere nkwali on loan from man city in 2018 kind of rings a bell. I've a vague notion he might have had a moment of skill and done nothing else. Most of our shite has been bad enough to be memorable.
  7. I didn't know what to think about this issue but the diametrically opposite view to seb coe is always right.
  8. Baked on parchment for me. Keeps the oven tray free of burnt on bits while keeping the frying pan clean for eggs. And it's delicious. So choosy modern customers and adherents to a bizarre medieval cult. Surely a four course menu would have mains (or entrees for real nobbers) and not meat? It is a false dichotomy.
  9. As a fan of Bill Hicks I can honestly say that social commentary features quite low on the list of reasons i like him. Here's the full list: Funny.
  10. I'd agree that we're probably marginal favourites but i doubt there's much in it. Not sure how much home advantage counts without a crowd. Don't forget the head to head record between the clubs for major European honours. The league table didn't agree with us being 3rd best last year though.
  11. But can't hold down a starting position since his transfer to the famous Aberdeen, thus implying that the standard of the Norwegian league may be lower than that of the SPL*. This implication is however weak, and does not control for variables such as the relative position of Aberdeen in the SPL* and stabaek (his previous club) in the Norwegian league, competition for places at each club, preferred formations, tactics etc. To be frank, it was a lazy and facile contribution to the discussion and I'm glad you questioned it. *ok, the premier division
  12. Jesus advocates turning the other cheek, so him. Different but similar https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/police-crime-cardiff-tremorfa-sainsburys-17774842 My record in fights is around 50% of single figures. They've all been self defence apart from one where i was trying to make a big tower of empty cans and my mate kept knocking them down. That wasn't really a proper fight though.
  13. If Hoban signed a long term deal he'd be at A&E before the ink dried. It is inevitable. Apologies, all the positivity is making me uneasy.
  14. It's not just stupid people though. Maybe even people that are quite clever are worse. I read a number of acedemic economics blogs where the authors or commentards will make some of the most facile, inane or wrong points about things related to economics, like politics or actual business. Because they are really good at something similar they assume that genius transfers. Sometimes it might but more often it doesn't. I wouldn't presume to gainsay any of them on whether interest rates need to rise, but i wouldn't accept their authority when they start yabbering about how that rise will affect the opinion polls.
  15. It's healthy to question accepted wisdom. If people always deferred to suitably qualified professional authority then copernicus wouldn't have told everyone the Earth went round the sun and Bohr wouldn't have insisted on entanglement. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people (myself included) are really terrible at realising the limits of their abilities. For most people, a gentle reminder of our own ignorance is enough. An ever increasing number of people dig in and double down and i think that's where the issue is: over inflated egos. People can't accept that they are in any way inferior to other people. This has led to an end to forelock tugging, place knowing subservience, which is positive. It has also led to an end to accepting that we all rely on a vast network of other people's accumulated skills and knowledge to survive.
  16. I came on this thread because i was wondering what Scottish football fans of all sorts thought about the recent setbacks to getting fans in. I found several pages of narcissistic delusional bleating from you instead and thought i'd fling some insults your way by way of retribution. That last response is so pointless and bizarre that i now realise that the correct course of action is to simply pity you. Look after yourself and stay strong.
