  1. It's a peninsula twice a day, because of the causeway. Not a real island imo. Scilly can feel rightly aggrieved
  2. Team GB, NI, Hebrides (both types), Orkney, Shetland, Thanet, Wight, Anglesey, Channel Islands and The Isle of Man is a bit of a mouthful though.
  3. I think you're overcimplicating this. He intends to incite hatred.
  4. Excellent, i love a hate fuelled rant
  5. What's the jurisdiction here? I'm not in Scotland but P&B might be. Does this mean i can be hateful towards other poster if they're also outside Scotland? I don't particularly want to have a go at disabled or trans people but i'd quite like to reserve the right to call some posters "old c***s" if circumstances render it appropriate.
  6. Does anyone else feel sick? How much chocolate is it safe to consume in one sitting before diabetes kicks in?
  7. I don't know the song to be fair, it's not really part of my cultural universe. I'm sure everyone singing it was lamenting the senseless waste of life on both sides.
  8. The Flash (2023) Fast weird kid has multiverse antics with very (deliberately sometimes) CGI. Right up there among DC's recent best, which means it's mediocre in the wider world. Enjoyably unserious and judicious use of Cameos. Time travel is a shite plot device. 5/10
  9. I think you're conflating sectarian and offensive. Sectarian just means favouring one side of a community that's divided along religious lines. It's not offensive or illegal to have pictures of the pope or the queen or to sing songs about how great your side is. It is part of the wider cultural issue that two clubs have put at the forefront of their brand identity. I include hibs' "hilarious" Wums in that.
  10. He's probably meant to go back to that one before he posted but forgot.
  11. This is probably true from the point of view of a large number of ignorant people but it's unfair to generalise. A good number of British people are wholly or partly of south Asian descent and are quite capable of bringing their own cultural prejudices into the mix while distinguishing between different south Asian cultures. Both religion and race are pretty fuzzy concepts and have varying degrees of importance and salience across people and across time. I'd be prepared to accept that someone could associate Khan with Islamism because he's a muslim not because he looks Pakistani (obviously this would still be ridiculous). I'd not be prepared to accept that that GBeebies gobshite gave it that much thought though. Definite dogwhistle racism coming from that opportunist twat.
  12. Good to see Duk looking lively when he came on. Dante also an improvement. Second goal was a decent footballing move.
  13. A "fan oven" and a "fan assisted oven" are different things, with the former (also known as a convection oven) being identifiable by having a circle around the picture of the fan on the dial. Discovered in answer to the question "where's the fucking element?"
  14. P&b recently, if going to p2 of the list of topics from the bottom of p1, takes me to the bottom of page 2.
  15. Did Peter Nicol not disqualify himself from this list?
  16. Four years training to be a tax inspector (standards have dropped). But only 8 pints of stella to glass someone.
  17. Equality and fairness are two different concepts. People start life with an endowment of characteristics. Parental wealth or income is one but looks, intelligence, physical prowess etc are all sources of inequality. Should we be scrubbing everyone's faces and binding feet just because equality?
  18. BLOODY WOKE EGGS CAN'T CALL IT EASTER ANY MORE COME OVER HERE TAKING OUR SECOND TIER CHOCOLATE PROMOTIONS https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-68673505.amp
  19. Nothing more british than a pastry flavoured with our native dried grapes and cinnamon.
  20. writing, base 60 numbers and whores
  21. Easter is more important to churches. Christmas has better food. Although the white chocolate lindt bunny i had last week was almost as good as Christmas cake or lebuchken. Almost.
  22. I'm not an expert theologist but i thought that Sunday was jesus "turning" and escaping from his cave to terrify the villagers and Monday was zombie Jesus floating up to space?
  23. If you're coming from Scotland and stop at Gloucester services you're about 3 1/2 hours past the first turn off for Wales. Good services though and probably worth bypassing the hovels of Deeside, Wrexham et all to pay £6 for an organic local bacon roll.
