Thats never a good idea A massive overhaul means that the squad needs time to gel and also means you’re taking longer trying to find loads of players that are good enough. When Dunfermline, Morton and Livi went up not every single player was Championship standard. They didn’t overhaul the squad. They made key changes and over time they have made changes. That’s what we need to be doing.

If there’s one thing you couldn’t really criticise the manager on it’s his signings. With the exception of a couple of iffy ones last season everyone he’s brought in has proved their worth. I trust him to sign the right players and if we get them right then we shouldn’t need a massive overhaul.

Was great in his first season, but out his depth in the Championship and injuries have cost him this season.

Might sound mental but I’d be inclined to keep Adams and see how he does at centre half. In midfield he might get overrun but he’s dominating in the air and throws his body in front of everything. Maybe not first choice but he’s worth keeping around.

Forrest was our top goal scorer last season while playing out of position with no support. Doc did well when he was fit and did especially well in the couple of games against Hibs at Easter Road. I think Kerr’s experience is vital and he might only play a dozen games but it could make all the difference. As I said don’t write Hart off at such a young age. He’s done well since being brought back into the fold.

Forrest and Doc are more than capable at Championship level. Kerr is as well but I don’t imagine he’ll play many games and wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a player/coach. Hart is young and shouldn’t be written off so early. If he stays and an experienced goalie comes in then I’ll be happy.

In terms of out of contract players I’d say Keep Hart Rose Adams Docherty McDaid McGuffie Crawford Kerr Moore Shankland Forrest Let go Boyle Reid Ferguson Slightly harsh on Ferguson as I think he’s decent but we need to upgrade our defenders.

Don’t think Doc is under contract. I’m sure it’s just Moff, Geggan, Higgins and Bell.

Thought we’d be better off with a brand new thread for next season and the following seasons. Makes it easier than creating a new thread every year. Whenever GTF days comes round this can be moved to the Championship forum. It’s good that you guys are the keeping the majority of what’s a really good squad together. Obviously I hope you don’t win the play offs this year unless some sort of miracle happens today but with that squad and a few additions you’ll be one of the favourites for the title next year.

I’m almost over it but occasionally Moore’s penalty miss pops into my head and I get depressed all over again.

You can’t really argue with the nominees this year. The one nominee you could perhaps argue on that list is Vaughan. Although I’d be very surprised if O’Brien doesn’t get a mention in the team of the season.

Just asking. Anyways booing a team while they are winning does seem ridiculous. As you say I reserve all booing and general shouting for the referee which became pretty regular yesterday.
