  1. Other than the badge being a wee bit clumsy on the shirt, that's a cracker. White becomes navy, black becomes white and gold becomes red = a beaut of a Rovers top as well.
  2. Aye, I wondered if it might get abandoned yesterday when the rain and thunder were at their heaviest. At least there's less concern about the pitch cutting up badly. And like yesterday the weather was decent before the Hibs friendly as I walked down that night. Thankfully my neebur gave me a lift home by which point the bottom of Windmill Road was like a paddling pool.
  3. I think it might have been Iain Williamson who scored in the abandoned Hibs friendly. Anderson was a couple of seasons later.
  4. Big clean up happening today. Andy Mill was organising it with a squad of volunteers.
  5. Nando was named man of the match and, in fairness, grew into the game as it progressed, making a glorious headed clearance late on. However, for me, Regan Hendry was several levels above anyone else on the park. The only issue is that he's mentally so far ahead of everyone else that a couple of moves broke down as no one read what he was about to do. I'm probably getting completely carried away, but he looks very much in the Silky Hetherston mould.
  6. Not dissimilar to the Rovers away kit from a couple of seasons ago. The one we wore in the 5-0 game at Bayview. It's kinda sweet you're trying to emulate us.
  7. When I saw the pics last night I honestly thought it was the training top and was the prelude to the real thing. Alas not.
  8. Spot on. The only reason Man City held us to a draw was that the game was played on a Thursday night - 48 hours after we played in a UEFA Cup game. Only 3 players started both games. The Coventry game was the following season and was a testimonial match for Andy Leigh. Most Rovers fans were in the North stand as the south end was still being built.
  9. I'm inclined to agree with you, but it's a nice stat to point out that Mckinnon has more relegations on his CV than promotions.
  10. I can't pretend to be over excited at who we've signed so far (Hendry aside), but it's far too early to press the panic button. On the eve of the 2008/09 season we seemed to be short up front then McGlynn managed to get Kevin Smith on loan from Dundee United. If my memory serves me correctly that didn't turn out too badly. Hopefully he has something similar up his sleeve this time.
  11. I'd have thought Davidson was the archetypal Dick Campbell signing - Over 30? tick Fifer? tick Double figure yellow cards each season? tick Not sure what you're waiting on.
  12. Easy enough to get to from the M8. I've never ventured far from the ground to find a boozer - I've always found the lounge at the ground very friendly and hospitable. The 2-2 draw in December a couple of seasons ago is pretty close to being the coldest I've ever been at a game. Minus 6 according to my car when we got back to it.
  13. Missed this at the time - what's the story? Duggan thanked everyone for their support, enjoyed his time at the club etc. Court had a twitter meltdown about people being unable to recognise talent blah blah blah. Can't remember the exact wording, but he was quite bitter.
  14. All the best to Chris Duggan. Shame his time with us was blighted by injury - hopefully he gets a prolonged period of full fitness. His dignified comments on being released by the Rovers contrast somewhat with Johnny Court's meltdown a year ago.
  15. I'm not sold on Anderson returning, but he isn't 37 and he hasn't been out of football for the last 3 years.
  16. I'm sure Anderson was doing all his refereeing exams while he was with us, with a view to becoming a ref rather than a coach once his playing career was over.
  17. McGlynn will have Graham Weir and Stevie Hislop waiting in the wings. Aye, and Chris Silvestro will be easier paid than Nat Wedderburn.
  18. Unfortunately he signed a new contract last week as a player / goalkeeping coach.
  19. No, no. They play in blue. The team we played wore red. Was it Bayern or Bayer something? Leverkusen maybe? No, but it was something like that.
  20. With no football to look forward to over the next few weeks, keep us entertained with your stories about watching your team in the 4th tier of Scottish football. We've never had the pleasure. I bet you've got some great tales to tell.
