  1. Only Partick's goal it would appear. No sign yet of Nisbet's De Mariaesque strike from 25 yards and less sign of Buchanan 's Mbappe like finish.
  2. If you watch how slow the goalkeeper was at getting across for Partick's goal, you'll see it's definitely for real.
  3. Especially on an afternoon when England are possibly playing in a world cup quarter final.
  4. Pissed off in the extreme about the game being cancelled next Saturday. Had arranged to stop off in Newcastle on my way home from holiday and have booked(non refundable) train tickets to Berwick next Saturday. Haven't been to Shielfield for a few years and was looking forward to it. If England are playing at 3 o'clock next Saturday it would affect the gate a wee bit, but does the prospect of probably 70 or 80 Rovers fans coming to Berwick merit cancelling the game? Just to be clear, in no way am I blaming the club for this, as I know it was a police decision, but interested to hear Berwick fans' thoughts on the matter.
  5. That's a fuckin sick joke. I'm stopping off in Newcastle on my way home from holiday and have booked train tickets for Berwick on the Saturday. Does that mean if Colombia pump England the polis will allow the game to be on again?
  6. After the Scott McBride signing a few seasons back, a one year deal is sensible.
  7. The late Jim McMillan gave me Keith Wright's old royal blue Bukta top when I was about 12. It must have been from the end of 82/83 as it doesn't have the Mazda sponsor on the front. The players' tops had a stitched badge, whereas the replicas sold in Brown's Bazaar had a transfer badge. It had been lying in my drawer for years until eventually I decided to frame it and Keith Wright kindly signed it when he was through for the Ally Gourlay memorial game a couple of years ago. It's now hanging up in the 200 club and ironically I see it more now than I did when it was in the house.
  8. Me too, with the exceptions of the 84/85 home and away kits and the 90/91 home kit. I'd love the company that make the retro tops to re-release the green Bukta goalkeeper top that Murray McDermott wore (complete with Bukta flashes down the sleeves).
  9. When El Alagui was at Hibs his injury issues were such that he was nicknamed 'The Tampon'. He was out for three weeks at a time then in for one.
  10. From what I can remember he was decent at delivering cross balls from corners and free kicks. Much as I like Vaughan as a player, there is no consistency with his set piece deliveries and I think that's something that needs addressed for next season.
  11. We're just about ok for central defenders, although we don't have much else admittedly.
  12. Plus a near 200 grand loss the following season, despite a live televised cup tie a, replay at Tynecastle and two home derbies (including the New Year game) against the Pars.
  13. Couldn't agree more. I also think it's important to have someone who is Kirkcaldy (district) based (Paul Gilfilla comes into that category as well) as I think one of main reasons for the perceived 'disconnect' between the board and the fans is that few if any are actually based in the area. When people like Mario were on the board, they were meeting fans in the street, dealing with them at work, had Rovers fans as neighbours, drinking in the same pubs etc and therefore were probably better placed to gauge the mood and concerns of the fans. Whereas most of the current /recent directors seem to be Edinburgh based and probably engage more with Hearts and Hibs fans who are no doubt telling them what a lovely wee club Raith Rovers are, how well Gary Locke did with the young boys at Hearts (not good enough for Hearts, but he'll be great for the Rovers) and what a wand of a left foot Rudi has and we'll come across to watch him when Hearts are away etc. That’s why despite Bill Gilby and David Proudfoot having creditable credentials, I voted 1 and 2 for the two local candidates.
  14. If Alloa stay down, by my reckoning the only teams with grass pitches will be Brechin, Arbroath and Stranraer. Rovers, Alloa, Airdrie, East Fife, Farfur, Stenny and Montrose will be artificial.
  15. Mercenary little bawbag. He's had the career he deserved.
  16. McHattie was Barry Smith's signing as well. He was released at the end of 2016/17, but was resigned by Smith in August when some way short of full fitness.
  17. Exactly. They could have demanded a fee with a sell on / development clause inserted. Just like Hamilton did with James McCarthy.
  18. You forgot about the astro pitch in Burntisland Scotty. Councillor Neil Crooks said a town the size of Kirkcaldy merited having four astroturf pitches. Whether this means the cooncil will contribute towards the facility at Starks Park remains to be seen.
  19. If your auntie had a pair of Dennis Laws and all that - but if we were still in the days of two up two down and no playoffs, both Rovers and Ayr would have been celebrating promotion yesterday with four games to spare.
