  1. Kane looks a class act and took his goals well. As said it was an entertaining but frustrating match to watch. We gifted 2 of their goals which is disappointing, we seem to be unable to cut out the errors. Forbes started well but quickly faded - still to see what Swift sees in him. Orr, when he came on, seemed more intent in pushing the opposition rather than getting on with the game. O'Reilly brought on far too late to make an impact. It would have been interesting to see how things would have turned out if the shot that came back of the bar in the opening minutes had went in. Fair credit to the team for not lying down though. Let's see how the next 2 games go.
  2. Mate, 65 yrs, has a very bad hand tremor, been to doctor and confirmed it was not caused by stroke of Parkinsons. They have had him on epilepsy medication gradually taking him up to the maximum dose. During this time he was not allowed to drink alcohol. Had no effect on him and they have carried out scans etc. Have stated that they could do a deep brain operation but he does not fancy this and would rather live with the shake than take the chance of the op. As a result he is now off epilepsy medication and waiting to see if they can offer him something else. Strangely he does not shake when he is asleep and if he holds the shaking hand then his arm starts to shake. Doctor has decided it is hereditary but has now noticed that his other hand is getting a slight tremor as well. At times you do not know how well off you are in comparison with others Good luck with your diagnosis.
  3. Steak Pie or sandwiches and sausage roll?
  4. What an absolute shower of sad F***s. At first I thought it was the second coming the way the MSM and halfwits were acting. Well worth getting soaked to the skin for.
  5. Went out of Edinburgh 11 days ago and due to storm over Heathrow there was a delay with the plane sitting on the tarmac. Came back in yesterday and no issues with cases arriving fairly quickly. From landing till getting in taxi was 30 minutes. Heathrow yesterday as a complete and utter joke. Asked an employee a question and was met with a grunt, asked another a direction and he nonchalantly indicated by throwing his thumb over his shoulder. Then we came to security, what a F*****g joke. Staff leaning against pillar, yawning, then the case had to be checked. Stood and waited while other cases were being checked. The Security guy decided he was taking everything out of every case and checking it. It was obvious that he could not cope or had just started the job. Not helped by the fact that a group of 6 supervisors stood by and watched him. A girl burst into tears as she was going to miss her connection before someone took her case out of the queue and checked it. Supervisors were being asked what they were doing about it but just shrugged and when asked for a complaints form shouted over their shoulder use the web. Seriously a complete and utter joke of a place.
  6. Sturgeon moaning that lives will be lost unless something is done. She really is shameless - who announced a low cost energy company and then later cancelled it. Bet the press will not ask her that.
  7. Agree with most of your post apart from Forbes - he rarely shows in a game and has been an expensive mistake. You cannot keep playing him in the hope that he may do it. As for Swift how much more time do you want to give him.? He has had a full season and 8 competitive games and still does not know what his best team is nor what tactics suit the squad. Lose on Saturday and he should be gone. Nice guy but I do not fancy watching the Lowland League next season.
  8. Hard to see any way out of this for Swift. Post match he says players are lacking confidence, what is he doing to raise their confidence? The team chops and changes every week. Friendlies plus four cup and four league games and he still does not know what his best team is, that I am afraid is totally unacceptable. He should have seen in the cup games that playing it out from the back was never an option, that our players are totally unsuited to it and that once the opposition closes us down we cannot change it. Instead of building our team's confidence up and letting the opposition worry about us I think he does the opposite and has our team more worried about who they are facing and as such heads are down from the off. That perhaps is why so many would appear to be lacking in confidence. At the start of his tenure he promised us high intensity football. We are still waiting to see when this will happen. We seldom make substitutes at the right time and he appears to have no plan B when things are not working out. Out play is tedious and slow, okay we are retaining the ball but we are so slow the opposition are back in formation before we can do anything and then we fail to break them down. The midweek game at Elgin is a nothing game for the team. Next week against Forfar will be the crux of the matter. Another defeat and the board have a decision to make. Time is running out.
  9. We would not be so lucky. Man now showing his worth, he can F*** Off now and take Forbes and Brennan with him. We are slow and ponderous, there is no variation to our play, Swift does not know how to make changes when required. He still does not have a settled team FFS. He obviously thinks Forbes is a player. It will be interesting to see if our Board has the balls to act and do the proper thing.
  10. Big John Gemmell the man you hate when he is playing against you but love when he is in your team. Scorer of some great free kicks when he was with us.
  11. Amazing what you can do with a tin of corned beef. These Michelin start restaurants do not know what they are doing! Just crown Eubank now.
  12. One of the reasons it is difficult to get behind the Nats. As stated an embarrassment which will not persuade many people to change their minds on how they will vote.
  13. When is the SG going to announce the start of their low cost energy company? It will be a great benefit at this time and should help out the majority of people.
  14. Ordered a new car on Saturday, they charge £25 for fuel. That was the same with my previous car from a different dealership.
  15. Lorna Slater in charge, between her and the SG it is bound to fail. Looks like another soundbite from SG which will go nowhere. "The 20p deposit will also provide an incentive to reduce littering, helping to cut the number of bottles and cans discarded in streets and green spaces." So our cost of shopping is going to rise and if the scheme fails you can guarantee the 20p will not be removed from the items. When Barrs did away with the deposit on their bottles the price did not fall. Who is going to fund the cost of setting up and staffing these centres? As likely to happen as the low cost Energy company they were going to set up.
  16. Was quite please how we played in the cup games and was confident we would start well in the league. How wrong can you be, we have had two games where we have played absolute rubbish. Had Albion Rovers been capable of finishing we would have lost and against Annan we were lucky we did not ship 4 or 5 goals. Does Swift know how to change a game and when to do it? It was clear on Saturday that changes had to be made at half time but he waits until we are 2 down. Does he overthink the game and give the opposition too much respect? Posters have already mentioned the playing it out from the back debacle - it needs sorting out. Saturday is a big game - we cannot have another start to the season like we had last year.
  17. Time to put in ridiculously low or minus offers
  18. Scott Walker is presumably the son of Scott Walker who played for the Shire and Alloa amongst others. If he is anything like his father he will be a half decent signing.
  19. Went to the matinee performance of The Lion King on Wednesday in Edinburgh. Theatre was rammed with many school kid there and they must be complemented on their behaviour. Great show but the seats are needing upgraded.
  20. Has anyone seen warning signs of variable speed cameras between M8 junctions 24 and 27 on the way to Glasgow Airport? Got hit with a notice of intended prosecution for doing 67mph in a temporary 40mph at 0330. Cannot recall seeing any warning signs or would certainly have slowed down. Looks like I was the Kunt on the road at that time.
  21. There was some talk about a month ago that the MPU was too low and there was some talk about it going to 75p/unit. That will really help those who are not eating or heating but still purchasing alcohol. They need to ditch the scheme and invest more in education, social improvements but that is unlikely to happen.
  22. I would be surprised if Bryson was on that figure but then again I do not know if anyone knows what the current going rate is for a player in L2. £700 per week would equate to roughly 90 fans paying at the gate (1 home game every 2 weeks). Given that that is a 6th of our usual gate it does not leave much for the rest of the team and the club. A lot will depend on how much money we are receiving from QP. It was rumoured in 1998 that Alan Lawrence was on £400pw and Albert Craig on £350pw so perhaps that figure of £700 may not be far of the mark. Lead us to promotion and it would be money well spent.
  23. Premier Sports Cup Draw Kilmarnock, Partick, Montrose, Stenhousemuir, Fraserburgh first round of games take place on the weekend of July 9-10.
